Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Ohio Wesleyan that excites you the most?
I think what makes Ohio Wesleyan the right fit for me is the size of the school, strong academics, and a winning baseball program.
You have been with Top Tier for quite a few seasons now. What made you choose this program and how has it helped with you reaching your goals of playing at the collegiate level?
Top Tier has a reputation for being one of the elite clubs in the entire country. I think it attracts the best talent from all around and it is very competitive program. As an athlete, I want to play with the best because it pushes you and raises your game. I also think I’ve had the opportunity to be taught by coaches that have helped me develop and raise my level of play.
Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.
You have to show initiative and take advantage of the tools provided by Top Tier and PBR. I attended showcases, developed a target list of schools, wrote letters to coaches and assistant coaches, followed up to coaches with a professional video of my skills and attended their camps. After a long recruiting process there was a mutual match between Ohio Wesleyan and I.
What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where to commit?
I wanted a school that had a good academic reputation, offered an undergraduate program in my area of interest, invested in their baseball program (facilities), a coaching style I could succeed under, a baseball staff that wants to win and the opportunity to compete for a spot to play my freshman year.
What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?
I need to keep my grades up and continue to work on strength and conditioning.
What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?
I think that I need to continue to get stronger and faster, with these improvements I hope to start my freshman year. I would like to be apart of the success Ohio Wesleyan has had and make it past the regional tournament and hopefully win the NCAA championship.
Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?
I want to thank Coach Plante for all the time he spent instructing me and the honest advice over the last four years. I want to thank Coach Garza for his straight up coaching. He tells it like it is, the good and the bad, and pushes you to achieve more. I want to thank Todd Fine for giving me the opportunity to play for such an amazing program these past couple years. Finally I would like to thank my family and the entire Top Tier staff for all the support.
