Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Minnesota that excites you the most?
I am excited most about the coaching staff. They have been coaching for a long time
and have a track record of success. They have been very honest and straightforward
with me throughout the entire process, which is something that I really liked. Best of all,
they are good people. They treated me with respect and kindness and I look forward to
being coached by them.
You have been with Top Tier for some of your youth and all of your high school career. Talk a little bit about your experience and what playing for Top Tier means to you.
Playing for Top Tier was a great experience for me. I really enjoyed the tough
competition with great players and people on my team. It was so much fun playing for
Top Tier and I’ll never forget my experiences.
Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.
The recruiting process was difficult and stressful at times, but it was also fun and interesting. The coaching staff was very kind to me and treated me with nothing but respect. They would always respond to me and answer any questions I had. They put both my parents and me at ease so I have no worries when arrive at Minnesota.
What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?
One priority I looked at was the academics. School is very important to me so I was
really excited when Minnesota was interested because I knew it was a very good school
academically. Another priority was the team atmosphere and the culture. I saw first hand
how much fun everyone on the team had and how close everyone was.
What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?
A challenge I see ahead is trying to earn playing time and a starting spot on the team as
a freshman. I want to make an impact on the team right away, so I see that as a
challenge I want to accomplish.
What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?
One goal I have is that I want to start as a freshman. As a team I would like to win the
conference and get a spot in the NCAA tournament.
Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?
I would like to thank my family and parents for spending the time and money it took to
get me to this point. It means so much to me and I am thankful for all they do. Also, I
would like to thank Glen Hoffmann for coaching me the past few years. He has doesn’t
so much for me and dedicated a lot to make me better. I would also like to thank Joel
Kortemeier. He was my first coach and I can’t thank him enough for all he has done. Pat
O'Sullivan is another person I’d like to thank. He has helped me out with my swing so
much over the years. Lastly, I’d like to thank Matt Plante, Griffin Phelps, and the rest of
the Top Tier coaches for giving me the opportunity to play for Top Tier.
