2018 OF Jordan Garcia Commits to Daytona State

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Daytona State that excites you the most?

What excites me the most about Daytona State is the great baseball program, the strong academics, and the area the college is in.

Last year was your first with Top Tier Roos. Tell us about your experience and what it means to wear the TT.

My experience was great, I was able to play in many different states and compete at the highest level with one of the best teams in the nation, and a great group of teammates and coaches.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

I attended a baseball camp where Daytona State coaches were present. After the camp, the Daytona coaching staff continued to follow me. I was invited to an on campus showcase. A few weeks later, I received an offer from Daytona. After a week of researching the program and academics to see if it was a right fit, I decided to accept the offer and committed to Daytona.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

The priorities I looked for were that the college was strong academically, if the baseball program was strong, and the area the school was in.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

Challenges I see are making sure I stay committed to the opportunity I have and to focus on challenging myself physically, mentally, and academically.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

Goals I have set are being productive offensively and defensively, and continuing to be a straight A student.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I would like to thank my family for all of the hard work they did for me, and for all of the times they pushed me to be the best that I can be. I would also like to thank all my coaches who helped me and made be a better ballplayer.
