2018 OF/1B Camden Nisensen Commits to IPFW

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about IPFW that excites you the most?

Thank you! I am most excited about my mindset and the mindset in their program. When we were talking it was like we were reading each other’s minds. Also, they have young talent that is eager to win and the coaching staff is really confident in me. And, I get to live in an apartment all four years...

You have been with Top Tier for quite a few years now. Tell us about your experience.

Coming to Top Tier was a big change for me. The program pushed me to work harder than I ever had been pushed before. We worked every practice like it was our last and I think it took a large part in helping me get to this point. Also, we played the best competition in the country, in front of hundreds of scouts every weekend and I don’t think any other program in the area can say the same.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

At first, the recruiting process was kind of rough for me. It was awesome watching my teammates get their major D1 offers but a little difficult when I got down to being one of the last ones standing. IPFW came to Grand Park looking for an OF/1B player and luckily at that game, I started in RF and came to 1B. They saw me again at a PBR down the road.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

I was looking for a staff with job security and a good history. Also a bigger sized enrollment and a place I want to live and play in for four years.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

I need to get in the weight room nonstop until the day I get on campus. 170 lbs isn’t gonna cut it.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

I would like to maintain a good average, put more balls over the fence, be a player the team can count on, and be a guy that my teammates look up to.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

Shoutout to Glen Hoffmann for putting his life on hold for the team. His dedication to us is incredible and his heart is in it for us. And he has my tweet notifications on so that he always knows what to wear to CLC football games.
