2018 RHP Ari Gordon Commits to Bradley

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Bradley University that excites you the most?

I loved everything about it, so it’s hard to just choose one thing. Their legacy of developing players that play at the next level and their education are definitely standouts.

Last year was your first with Top Tier. Tell us about your experience and what it means to wear the TT?

I had an amazing experience, to be coached by many very intelligent people on the mental and physical part of the game throughout the winter and summer was invaluable. It was amazing to finally be surrounded by players who all set very high goals and expectations for themselves and players around them. I always set high expectations for myself but never before was I surrounded by so many other players that did the same and that resulted in an environment that was perfect for generating success.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

I decided to take a slow approach and make sure that I was considering all options before I made my decision. I first came in contact with schools in the winter of my junior year, but schools only started contacting regularly in the following summer. I was in contact with Bradley throughout the summer.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

Education was my first priority but beyond that I needed to make sure that I was in a place where I could succeed.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

I have to get bigger, faster, stronger and smarter, I have to continue to get better and make sure that I’m playing at the best of my ability.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

To never stop getting better in the classroom or on the field and make sure I’m getting better everyday.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

First of all, I want to thank my parents for spending all the time to bring me back and forth to my tournaments and always coming to support me. Also, thank you to all my coaches who spent so much extra time and effort to help me, I will forever be grateful.
