2018 RHP Jonathan Keller Commits to North Central College

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about North Central College that excites you the most?

Thank you! My future at NCC excites me on and off the field. NCC is known for their high academic expectations and standout athletic programs. Centered in the heart of Naperville gives me the opportunity to live in a growing city and immerse myself directly into the community.

You spent your last couple of years with Top Tier. Tell us about your experience and what it means to wear the TT?

I'll always be grateful to the Top Tier organization for the past two years of my life. Top Tier has developed me day in and day out not only to become a better athlete but to become a better person. The coaches, players, and competition are second to none. It's truly a family where everyone has one goal; get to the next level. Even with that goal in mind it runs much deeper than that. Wearing TT for the past two years is about representing an organization full of tradition and carrying that on from the players before you. I can't thank the TT organization enough for all the effort they put in me and the opportunities they gave to help me reach my goals.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

The recruiting process for me was long and at some times stressful. Joining TT my sophomore year I was exposed to showcases and camps that allowed me to step foot in the recruiting process but also allowed me to be honest with myself to find the best fit. My family and the coaches at TT made the process a lot easier by putting my future goals in focus along the way.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

My first priority was going to a school with high academic standards and who pushed their student-athletes in the classroom and community. I also wanted to play at a school that had a great tradition of athletic excellence, like that of Top Tier. NCC had the best of both worlds and getting the opportunity to hang out with the guys on the team around campus solidified my ability to see myself going there.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

The challenges I see before getting to NCC is to keep myself in shape for the fall ball season and preparing for the rigorous coursework alongside of baseball.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

The goals I have as a college baseball player are to excel on and off the field and do everything possible to contribute to the winning tradition that has been built at NCC.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I would like to thank my family for the sacrifices they made along the way and all that they have done to make me the person I am today. I can't thank them enough. Another person I would like to thank is Coach Jeff Bernau for helping me out for almost 8 years now. He's pushed me to work on my craft everyday and to always have fun playing the game.
