2018 RHP/3B Scott Youngbrandt Commits to Saint Louis

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Saint Louis University that excites you the most?
The thing that excites me most about Saint Louis is the new changes that the coaches are bringing to the program and the culture that the program has.
You have spent your entire high school career with Top Tier. Talk a little bit about your experience.
My experience with Top Tier has been phenomenal. It has been the best two summers of my life traveling around the country playing some of the best competition in the nation.
Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.
Everything in the recruiting process started in my 16u summer. A couple coaches reached out and it escalated from there. I wanted a good academic school that could get me the degree I wanted. I also wanted a program that had the right type of culture and attitude.
What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?
One big challenge will just be continuing to get better. I want to be able to step in and compete as soon as I get to SLU and I know that I need to get a lot better to do that.
What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?
Some of the goals I have as a college baseball player is to play a lot. I want to be the best I can to help my team win games. I also want to make and win a regional and then make it to the CWS.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I would like to thank everyone from Top Tier and all the coaches that got me here. (Coach Plante, Coach Zicher, Coach Griff, Coach Fine) One coach in particular I want to thank is Coach Doug Rayburn. I played for him for 4 years and it was some of the most fun times of my life.
