2018 SS/RHP Conner Tomasic Commits to Purdue

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Purdue University that excites you the most?

All of the coaches I spoke to over the past 4 months were great but I really felt a special connection with Coach Wasikowski, Coach Holm and the rest of the Purdue Baseball staff. They're all great coaches who have a strong track record of developing players and building championship programs. I wanted to be part of making Purdue Baseball great again.

You joined Top Tier for the 2017 season. What do you think of the winter workouts so far? What are your expectations for this summer?

As I was talking with coaches over the past 2 months, I shared with them that I recently joined Top Tier Baseball. Every school made comment that the program was top of class with great coaches who really can continue developing my game. They were happy for me.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

The recruiting process was exciting but also very difficult. I truly underestimated how hard the process really is and that a lot of thought goes into the decision making process.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where to commit?

A place that felt like home to me and being surrounded by top notch coaches that are known for developing players and positioning them for an opportunity to play at the next level. I really felt a special connection with Coach Wasikowski, Coach Holm and the rest of the Purdue Baseball staff. They're all great coaches who have a strong track record of developing players and building championship programs. I wanted to be part of making Purdue Baseball great again.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

Since I'm a two sport athlete in High School (Baseball and Basketball), continue to balance the two sports with an emphasis on baseball while maintaining my good GPA. To continue to improve on all facets of my game as a SS as well as a Pitcher since I committed as a two-way player at Purdue.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

Start as a Freshman, make the Big10 Freshman team, win multiple Big10 Championships and to make it to Omaha!!

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

My family first and foremost, especially my Dad because he has coached me throughout my life. My former High School Coach Jeff Sandor, my strength and conditioning coaches Sean Willis (private trainer) and Tom Halterman (Lake Central High School) and numerous other coaches along the way. Also, a shoutout to my Athletic Trainers at Lake Central - Chris Hall and Lydia Morgan for keeping me healthy.
