2019 C Tyler Snep Commits to Iowa

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about the University of Iowa that excites you the most?

The most exciting thing to me would be the culture and atmosphere that the coaching staff has developed.

You have been with Top Tier for quite some time now. Talk a little bit about your experience and what playing for Top Tier means to you.

My experience at Top Tier has been incredibly influential to not only my development as a baseball player, but as a person as well. The program drives hard work and intensity every time you step into practice, and they teach life skills that not only help you in the game of baseball but throughout the rest of your life.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.
For me the process started last fall, but didn’t become very active until mid winter when I began to go on visits and see some schools. After seeing multiple schools, I went back to Iowa multiple times and just had the feeling and knew it was where I wanted to go.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

My main priority was to find the best overall fit for myself academically and athletically. Distance also played a big role in my decision. I wanted to stay closer to home to give my family more opportunity to continue to see me play and develop through college.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

I have to continue to develop towards my full potential as a player, getting bigger, faster, and stronger, and continue to further myself in every aspect of the game.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

I want to be in the best condition possible to be able to contribute to the success of the team when I step onto campus

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I’d really like to give a special thanks to my family, especially my dad, for always supporting me and pushing me to be the best person I can be. I would like to thank Ryan Lidge for being a mentor to me throughout my career, and Coach Chuck Gandolfi for the opportunities and support he has given me. A final thanks to Coach Griffin Phelps for bringing me into the Top Tier organization.
