2019 LHP Andy Booth Commits to Saint Leo

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Saint Leo that excites you the most?

What excites me most about Saint Leo is the awesome campus but also the new coaching staff they have there. They’re making a ton of upgrades and moving the program in the right direction and I can’t wait to be a part of it!

You were part of the inaugural class for Top Tier Roos last summer, and ended the year ranked in the top 10. Tell us about your experience and what it means to wear the TT.

Wearing a Top Tier Jersey is an honor. Playing all summer with those boys was awesome. The team developed a as family and it was awesome to be apart of.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

I had offers from a few other school but when I went on the visit to Saint Leo I was blown away by the campus and coaches.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

Some priorities I looked for was being close to home, good academics, coaches that will develop me as a player and a person, feeling at home, and a place I can be myself at.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

Challenges for me is to continue to work hard, get stronger and continue to get good grades.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

Some goals I have set are to get stronger, and develop to be the best player and student I can be.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I like to give a should to to my family for always being there for me. My friends and team mates for always pushing me and believing in me. All the coaches I’ve had that have helped me. Especially Top Tier and the coaches the way they carry a program is like no other.
