Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about High Point University that excites you the most?
Everything to be honest. The campus is beautiful the academics top notch and the coaches/program were just the icing on the cake.
You were part of the inaugural class of the Top Tier Roos last summer. Tell us about your experience with the Roos and what it means to wear the TT?
It’s always scary being the part of something new here in Florida, but I knew the TT brand itself had such respect, colleges would be receptive.
Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.
I was talking to a few schools and had some good dialogue going with coaches who saw me as a fit within their programs. High Point wasn’t on my original list but they saw me pitch and sought me out. They “wanted” me and that felt good, they saw me throw twice and made me a strong offer. I went on a tour of campus, fell in love with it and then I met with the coaches and their program was such a good fit I knew that HPU was where I needed to be after high school.
What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?
I wanted to find a place that felt like family, a place where I would be confident that I could grow on the field as well as in the classroom. I wanted to find a place I knew I could grow in to the best version of myself and HPU was just that fit and more.
What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?
Learning to do my own laundry ;-). I’ve set some goals both athletically and academically for myself.
What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?
I want to grow in the game and be an impact player my freshman year and moving forward.
Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?
God, my parents, family, all my coaches and teammates for helping me along the way and to Top Tier for having a name scouts would come watch play.
