2019 RHP/1B Daniel Brannigan Commits to Dominican

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Dominican University that excites you the most?

The campus in River Forest is extremely nice, and the fact that it is so close to downtown Chicago is something that pulled me in.

You have been with Top Tier since your 12U season. Talk about your experience growing up with Top Tier and what it means to wear the TT.

Top Tier has been the best organization on the field and off the field. The knowledge that I have learned from the coaches and instructors is something that I value greatly and thank Tier for.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

The process for me was a rough one to start with. But as time went on I was patient and met coach Worsely who was my summer coach for 17u. After the season he invited me to come on campus and that’s when I knew Dominican would be the place for me.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

I saw distance away from home and the quality of the school being the two most important things. I’m happy that my parents also liked the campus because if they hadn’t, it would be a different story.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

The biggest challenge in my eyes before I get to campus is trying to get used to my new high school and team first. I am excited for this new challenge though as I am expecting a great season at Lemont.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

Some goals I have are that I want to be able to contribute to the team as a freshman on the mound and maybe at first base as well.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I’d like to thank my parents first and foremost for sacrificing so much for me to get the opportunity to play for Top Tier and travel the country playing ball. I also want to thank all of the coaches I’ve had over the years Especially Griffin Phelps, Colin Sallee, Zack Worsley, Seth Kenny, Matt Plante and Matt Lambert.
