2022 RHP Ethan Patera Commits to Louisville

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about Louisville that excites you the most?

What isn’t there to be excited about Louisville? Everything from the facilities, the coaching staff, the city, and most importantly the academics! This was my dream school and I’m very excited to be able to get the opportunity to take my academics and my Athletic Career to the next level.

You started with Top Tier as a youngster, starting with your 9u season. Now that you have grown up and spent time on the high school side of things what has that been like? Tell us about your experience and what it means to wear the TT’s.

Hands down the best program in the country! The coaches really do care about the players and really want them to succeed! All of the pre-season Sunday workouts prepared all the players in the program to be at their best for the season and for them to be able to have their best showings, each and every game. I am proud to be a part of this program, for as long as I have, and putting on TT uniform is like I am representing family because all of the things this program has done for me.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

The recruiting process was very fun and exciting, but also went very fast. It was awesome being able to explore lots of schools and seeing what they had to offer, and ultimately, which school was the better fit for me academically, and athletically.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

Some of the priorities I looked at when deciding where I wanted to commit were: Is it a good academic fit for me? Is it a good athletic fit for me? How successful is this program? Do they have the necessary resources for student athletes? Do they have a good program for the major I want to pursue? I found that Louisville answered all of these questions, and was the perfect fit for me!

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

I have a very strong work ethic, whether at school or on the field, and I believe that it will allow me to strengthen and grow as an individual. I approach any challenge as an opportunity to push myself to the next level and accomplish my goals.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

One of the goals I have for myself is being one of the forces that will possibly lead our team to Omaha to compete for a National Championship. Another one of my goals is to grow as an individual and enhance my skills at the collegiate level.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I would like to give a shout-out to my parents for making all the sacrifices they have made over the years to let me continue to play the game I love. I would also like to thank Coach Doug Rayburn, my pitching coach Seth Kenny, Griffin Phelps, and the entire rest of the coaching staff at Top Tier that has helped me along the way to make me who I am. Thank you again for helping me achieve this milestone in my life!  #ROLLTIER!
