Alumni Roundup: Week 10

Heading into the final weeks of the season, we're keeping a close eye on our alums across the country who are gearing up for a run at conference titles and postseason glory. Along with team goals, individual awards are very much on the table as guys like Daniel Pacella lead the conference in numerous major categories. Here's a look at some other players poised to have a LOUD end-of-the-year run...

Week 10

Noah Edders
and Troy are ranked No. 15 in the country, according to D1Baseball.com. This is the highest rank in program history, and Edders has done nothing but be a positive contribution to the Trojans in his first season down south. Troy has won nine of Edders' 10 starts this season; Friday was no different. Edders went seven innings of one-run, four-hit ball. 105 pitches in the outing and nine K's helped Troy to a 11-1 victory against ULM. Edders has a 5-0 record and is finding a groove here as we head towards the final stretch of the season. As it stands, Edders will get three more starts in the regular season before the Sun Belt tournament.

Liam Peterson
improved to 6-2 on the season by helping Florida to a 13-3 win against Mississippi State. Six frames, three earned on seven hits was his final line. Peterson K'd six on 95 pitches and helped the Gators start the weekend with a W. This would lead to a series win against the Bulldogs and improve its record to 27-15. The Gators have a midweek against Georgia Southern, then host Arkansas to close out the month of April.

Vytas Valincius
had another solid week and continues to lead the Fighting Illini in average, hits, RBI, 2B and total bases. Valincius capped off last weekend with three doubles against Indiana and followed it with a three-hit game against SIUE. He drove in three in that midweek win. Over the weekend, Washington hosted Valincius and the Illini and took two-of-three. Valincius had three hits across three games but lost his April-long hitting streak on Friday night in Seattle. On Saturday, Valincius made a difficult play up against the outfield wall. Check it out below.

Daniel Pacella
(Illinois State) has a hit in 13 of his last 14 games dating back to March 28. Against Bradley this past weekend, Pacella had five hits and eight RBI. He's hitting .400 and continues to be among team and conference leaders in major categories. As of April 15, Pacella was first in the MVC in average, slugging percentage, OPS, hits and second in sac-flies and OBP.

Josh Outlaw
had three hits and a pair driven in against Bradley this past weekend. He's hitting .321 across 81 AB's and 22 games played this season.

Steve Milam
(LSU) launched his eighth homer of the season in the opener against Alabama. The Tigers would go on to win the series despite dropping the finale. Milam is hitting .306 for LSU this season.

Mack Whitcomb
(Tennessee Tech) extended his hit streak to 17 games against Eastern Illinois. He's third in the OVC in average at .404 and third in hits, as of April 19. Whitcomb does lead the league in total bases per game with 3.07.

Kenny Perez
(Western Illinois) had four hits between last week's midweek against St. Ambrose and a three-game set against Little Rock. He hit his fourth homer of the season on Friday and added another RBI on Sunday. He's hitting .310 for the Leathernecks this season.

SLU had a perfect week going 4-0 and Brenden Stressler contributed adding three hits across the Billikens' matchups against Lindenwood and VCU. He added an RBI in the early game of a doubleheader on Friday.

McCall Biemiller
got some action on Sunday in a loss to Mississippi State. He pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings allowing just two base runners. He K'd two in six total batters faced.

Colin Husko
(Illinois-Chicago) hit a homer on Friday against Missouri State bringing his season total to two. He has seven XBH this season and is hitting .248 for the Flames.

Luke Weber
(Illinois) threw a clean inning against SIUE a week ago. He K'd one of his three hitters he faced.

Matt Barnes II
(UC Davis) threw three scoreless innings on Saturday against Cal State Bakersfield. He allowed just two baserunners via hit and walk but set down the rest of the 14 hitters he faced. He K'd four in the outing and has now struck out 28 in 26.2 total innings.

Lucas Smith
put together another solid weekend for the Flames. Five total hits in the weekend series against Missouri State with four being XBH. He had two homers and two doubles bringing his average up to .301. Smith has reached base safely in all but a pair of games in April.
