Alumni Roundup: Week Seven

As we hit the ~halfway point of the 2025 campaign, we're in the midst of conference play and our alums are starting to settle in nicely. A few injuries are lingering and keeping alums sidelined, so we're wishing a speedy recovery for those affected.

Week Seven

Noah Edders
looked sharp on Saturday for Troy. Edders threw seven and a third, allowing three runs on five hits. He K'd seven and helped steer the Trojans to a narrow, 4-3 win over Marshall. This is the second consecutive quality start for Edders, following up last week's performance against Coastal Carolina.

Troy is now 21-8 and is ranked No. 22 according to D1Baseball.com

Daniel Pacella (Illinois State) continues to swing it well this season. Despite the .21-point drop in his average since last Sunday, Pacella had an impactful week. Pacella had a run batted in in each of Illinois State's five games last week. One against Iowa and SIUE, then three in each game against Murray State in a three-game set. He racked up five hits against the Racers with two being home runs.

Pacella now has nine homers and 27 runs driven in this season. He is tied for the team lead in homers and is second in the conference in that category. He leads the MVC in average and hits.

Vytas Valincius (Illinois) is still hitting above the .300 line despite the bat cooling off a touch. Valincius collected three hits last week - two against Missouri and one against Michigan State. He drove in four runs for the Illini last week and stole base number four on the year.

Illinois won the series at Michigan State - the Illini meet Illinois State in Champaign on Tuesday, April 1.

Matt Barnes (UC Davis) threw three clean innings on Saturday against Cal Poly. Despite the loss 5-1 loss for the Aggies, Barnes K'd four and allowed just two hits in 11 batters faced.

McCall Biemiller (Florida) got the nod against Florida State on Tuesday against fellow Top Tier Roos alum, John Abraham. Biemiller went two innings with a run allowed on three hits. He K'd two and faced 11 hitters in total.

John Abraham
went two and two-thirds, allowing one run on one hit and faced 11 hitters, too. Abraham and Florida State emerged victorious in the rivalry game, 8-4.

Nick Monile (North Florida) tallied three hits throughout the weekend in a series win against FGCU. Steve Milam (LSU) had four hits last week including a homer against Mississippi State.

Mack Whitcomb
(Tennessee Tech) had seven hits last week, two being home runs. He drove in three in a 1-3 week for the Golden Eagles. Tennessee Tech is a game behind SIUE in the OVC standings and sits at 19-10.

Tommy Townsend
(Butler) had a strong weekend in a four-game set against NIU. Townsend had five hits and eight RBI throughout the four games. Three home runs on the weekend has brought his total to six on the year. Townsend is now hitting .306 and is finding a groove after a stretch of hit-less games in mid-March.

Josh Outlaw
(Illinois State) has made himself a mainstay in the Redbirds lineup. He has five hits in his last four games. Against SIU on Wednesday, Outlaw had two hits, three RBI and a homer to his credit. Against Murray State, his only XBH was a triple but raised his average to .314 and is capitalizing on opportunities.
