The 15u Nationals-Navy has a strong showing in Crown Point, Indiana as they competed in the National Championships tournament. The team made it all the way to the semi finals after beating the No. 1 seed ISA Stars due to Jason Kusibab’s heroic performance. No other player was able to turn coach Turnquist’s head like Kusibab did this past weekend. At the plate, Kusibab was a hitting machine hitting .385 with 5 RBI’s. On top of that, he was able to help secure the victory in a 7-3 win over the Stars after he hit a deep three-run homerun in the top of the seventh inning to help lift the team to it’s third victory. His homerun wasn’t his only extra base hit however as he also managed to hit a solid triple as well. Undoubtedly, these are the types of performances coach Turnquist likes to see from his team. With help like this from Kusibab at the plate, the 15u Nationals-Navy look like they will finish the season strong and perhaps steal a tournament win with just two tournaments left.
