MLB Draft Combine: Preview

The 2026 MLB Draft is weeks away, but before we hear names called and franchises changed forever, we're turning our attention to the Draft Combine next week. Over 330 draft-eligible players will head to Chase Field in Phoenix to workout and meet with MLB scouts and executives.

Top Tier Baseball is proud to have 10 alums participate in the event - the most since the inception of the Draft Combine. The list is headlined by Hunter Dietz, Kaden Waechter and Liam Peterson - all projected to be selected very early in the draft. All Roos products have the option to play collegiately next year, so it will be interesting to see what the process looks like heading into the final weeks of the draft circuit.

Jack Slightom, TJ McQuillan, Ethan Bass and Dylan Bowen headline the HQ high school products. Bass, McQuillan and Bowen have long been draft prospects while Slightom has steadily been on a rise since the end of his junior season.

John Abraham and Wes Mendes, teammates at Florida State, have been dominant all season long and have rightfully earned their way into high-level draft conversations. Mendes earned the ACC Pitcher of the Year and was the ace from opening day to the Seminoles' NCAA opening round run.

Abraham has been lights out in the bullpen for FSU. As a junior, Abraham earned NCBWA All-American honors and All-ACC honors. Abraham has earned recognition as one of the top relievers in all of college baseball.

Michael Addari announced his presence to the draft scene last fall after a strong first few months with Illinois State. After transferring from Michigan State, Addari earned his spot at the front of the Redbirds rotation and did a phenomenal job as the ace in the spring. Addari earned All-MVC and helped the Redbirds to a winning season.

The Draft Combine kicks off next week on Tuesday, June 23 and runs through Friday, June 26. Some players will participate in all sessions while others will participate in select sessions and meetings.

The MLB Draft will take place from Saturday, July 11 through Monday, July 13.
