MLB Roundup:

Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals

DeJong is off to a hot start, starting at shortstop for the Cardinals. DeJong went 6 for 11 vs. Milwaukee Brewers in 3 games with a homerun and 3 RBI’s. Dejong got held hitless in the series vs. Arizona Diamondbacks to finish the week, but on the year, he is hitting .303 with 3 homeruns and a slugging % of .576.

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals

Roark has made two starts this past week. In his 1st start Roark picked up a win vs. Atlanta Braves going 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. In his 2nd start vs. the NL East Leading, New York Mets he got a no-decision going 5 innings giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks while striking out 9. Roark is 1-0 to start the year with a 4.50 ERA and has 15 strikeouts in just 12 innings of work.

MiLB Roundup:

Rob Scahill, Charlotte Knights (Affiliate of Chicago White Sox)


Scahill, a year after being in the bullpen for the Milwaukee Brewers, was picked up by the Chicago White Sox, where he has started this season on their Triple A team, the Charlotte Knights. In his first debut with his new team, Scahill got 1 inning of work in out of the bullpen giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1.

Tyler Ladendorf, extended Spring Training hasn't assigned yet (Affiliate of Toronto Blue Jays)


Ladendorf went into free agency this past year after playing Triple A for the Charlotte Knights an Affiliate of Chicago White Sox. Ladendorf will be at extended Spring Training for Toronto and will be assigned to a team soon.

Ryan Borucki, Buffalo Bisons (Affiliate of Toronto Blue Jays)

Borucki after getting put on the 40-man roster last year, will start the year off in Triple A for the the Buffalo Bisons. Triple A just started their season and Borucki is expected to be an important pitcher on their staff.

Karch Kowalczyk, Tulsa Drillers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers)

Kowalczyk has been assigned to the Double A Tulsa Drillers to start the season off. Kowalczyk made two appearances out of the bullpen. In the 1st week of play he went a total of 2.1 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2.

Jeremy Rhoades, Mobile BayBears (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels)

Rhoades has been assigned to the the Double A Mobile BayBears to start off the season. Rhoades made one relief appearance on opening week going 1.1 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits.

Connor Riley, Inland Empire 66ers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels)


Riley has been assigned to the High A Inland Empire 66ers to start off the season. Riley had a good opening week coming out of the bullpen. He went 2.1 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2.

Blake Hickman, Winston-Salem Dash (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox)

Hickman has been assigned to the High A Winston-Salem Dash to start off the season. Hickman has a great opening week coming out of the bullpen. He went 2 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 3.

Adam Walton, Visalia Rawhide (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks)

Walton has been assigned to the High A Visalia Rawhide to start off the season. Walton made two starts in the opening week going 0 for 6 with a walk.

Will Kincanon, Great Falls Voyagers (Affiliate of Chicago White Sox)

Kincanon has been assigned to the Rookie Ball Great Falls Voyagers to start off the season. Their season has not started yet, more updates to come.

Zach Lewis, AZL White Sox (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox)

Lewis has been assigned to the Rookie Ball AZL White Sox to start off the season. Their season has not started yet, more updates to come.

Danny Mayer, GCL Phillies East (Affiliate to Philadelphia Phillies)

Mayer has been assigned to the Rookie Ball GCL East Phillies to start off the season. Their season has not started yet, more updates to come.

Jason Goldstein, hasn’t been assigned yet (Oakland Athletics)

Goldstein started the year off in Low A with the Beloit Snappers last year and is still in extended Spring Training waiting for his assignment for this year.

Ryan Koziol, hasn’t been assigned yet (San Francisco Giants)

Koziol underwent Tommy John last year and is in extended Spring Training for the San Francisco Giants waiting for his assignment for this year.

Independent League Roundup:

Joe Benson, Chicago Dogs (Independent League)

Benson who was drafted in the 2nd round out of Joliet Catholic Academy in 2006 by the Minnesota Twins will now be playing for the Independent League team the Chicago Dogs out of the American Association this year. Their season will begin in Mid-May.

Scott Firth, Chicago Dogs (Independent League)

Firth who was drafted in the 19th round out of Clemson to the Colorado Rockies in 2013 will now be playing for the Independent League team the Chicago Dogs out of the American Association this year. Their season will begin in Mid-May.

Kylin Turnbull, Chicago Dogs (Independent League)

Turnbull who was drafted in the 4th round by the Washington Nationals in 2011 will now be playing for the Independent League team the Chicago Dogs out of the American Association this year. Their season will begin in Mid-May.

Mitch Schulewitz, Schaumburg Boomers (Independent League)

Schulewitz who was a signed free agent out of UIC by the Kansas City Royals in 2017 will now be playing for the Independent League team the Schaumburg Boomers out of the Frontier League this year. Their season will begin in Mid-May.

Anthony Ray, Pennsylvania Road Warriors (Independent League)

Ray who was drafted in the 36th round out St. Rita High School by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2013 will now be playing for the Independent League team the Pennsylvania Road Warriors out of the Atlantic League this year. Their season will begin in Mid-May.
