NCAA D2/D3 College Previews for Top Tier Alumni
DIVISION 2
Bellarmine
Jacob Nagel is entering his junior season as a RHP for the Knights. Nagel had a great sophomore season earning second team All-GLVC, where he went 6-4 with a 4.85 ERA. In his freshman year, Nagel made 40 appearances, logging 40.1 innings and maintained a 3.12 ERA. This season should be a good one for the big right-handed arm.
Carson-Newman
Nathan DeLoian is entering his freshman season as a LHP for the Eagles. He will look to get some experience in a really competitive conference down in Tennessee.
Hillsdale
Kolton Rominski is entering his junior season as a RHP for the Chargers. Rominski has been a constant staple both in the starting rotation and in the bullpen for the Chargers in his first two seasons. Rominski is 8-7 overall in two years with one save in 119.2 innings pitched. Rominski has a career ERA of 5.04 with 91 strikeouts. He looks for this year to contribute a lot more for the Chargers to have success.
Lewis
Jacob Lotz is entering his sophomore season as a LHP for the Flyers. Lotz saw limited action last season making 13 relief appearances for a total of 6 innings. He ended up with 10.50 ERA after his freshman season. Lotz is looking to make a bigger impact on the mound this season.
Anthony Rios is entering his junior season as a catcher for the Flyers. Last season, Rios had his best season starting 31 games behind the dish, hitting .245 with 5 doubles, 2 home runs and 14 RBI’s. Rios looks to be the main catcher for the Flyers this season.
Quincy
Hunter Keim is entering his sophomore season as a RHP for the Hawks. Keim didn’t see any action as a freshman and is looking to help out of the bullpen for a nationally ranked D2 team this season.
Maryville
Louis Niemerg is entering his senior season as a RHP and an infielder for the Saints. Niemerg has been in the lineup and on the mound for the Saints steadily for all three years he has been there. Niemerg last season hit .386 with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs and 29 RBI’s. On the mound last season he was 4-4 4.79 ERA. Niemerg is a true two-way talent that is looking to have a huge senior season for the Saints.
Palm Beach Atlantic
Brad VanAsdlen is entering his junior season as a RHP for Sailfish. VanAsdlen pitched at Joliet CC before transferring into Palm Beach Atlantic this season.
Saint Leo
Peyton Isaacson is entering his senior season as a catcher and utility player for the Lions. Isaacson was a little bit of everything last year for the Lions. He played catcher and first base along with close out games on the mound. Isaacson earned Second Team All-South Region and Second Team All-SSC for his efforts. He hit .346 last year with 17 doubles, 12 home runs and 50 RBI’s along with pitching in 21 games, earning 14 saves with 20 strikeouts in 19 innings of work. Prior to St. Leo, Isaacson spent two seasons at Coastal Carolina, where he was able to win a College World Series in 2016 and play a substantial amount in 2017, where he .240 with 29 RBI’s. Isaacson should have a monster senior year after the huge numbers he put up last year.
UIndy
Michael Schalasky is entering his senior season as a RHP for the Greyhounds. However, due to injury, Schalasky will redshirt this year and come back next year as a fifth-year senior. Schalasky has had a solid career with the Greyhounds going 13-10 as a starter with a 6.18 ERA and 142 strikeouts in 166 innings over three years.
University of Illinois-Springfield
Ryan Fish is entering his senior season as an outfielder for UIS. Fish transferred in from Texas Rio Grande Valley last season, after he spent two seasons at Jefferson CC before that.
Wayne State
Justin Kelly is entering his entering his senior season as a catcher for the Warriors. He enters this season as the Team Captain, coming off an stellar year last year, earning First Team All-GLIAC as a catcher. Last season, Kelly hit .304 with 13 doubles, 2 triples, 11 home runs, and 46 RBI's. In his career, Kelly is a .286 hitter with 31 doubles, 27 home runs and 114 RBI's.
Zach Girard is entering redshirt senior season as an infielder for the Warriors. Girard saw his most action last season, getting playing in 24 games and earning GLIAC All-Academic Team honors.
DIVISION 3
Augustana
Jake Huber is entering his junior season as an infielder for the Vikings. Huber has been a big contributor for the Vikings the past few years. Last season, Huber hit .272 with 11 doubles and 21 RBI's. The Vikings will be looking for him to do even more this season as a starter in the infield.
Mitch Owens is entering his sophomore season as utility player for the Vikings. Owens is a big bodied player that will look to help the Vikings lineup out and help them on the mound. Last season, Owens saw limited action only getting 19 at bats with 2 RBI's.
Gunnar Haskins is entering his senior season as a 1B for the Vikings. Haskins was a middle of the lineup hitter for the Vikings last season finishing the year hitting .299 with 14 doubles, 4 home runs and 43 RBI's. Haskins will continue to be a big power threat in their lineup this season.
Timmy Alfonso is entering his freshman season as an infielder for the Vikings. Alfonso should be ready to contribute as he took a year and went to IMG Academy last season.
Aurora
Nick Baldassano is entering his freshman season as an infielder for Aurora.
Justin Shoefenacker is entering his freshman season as a RHP for Aurora.
Benedictine
Tyler Woynerowski is entering his sophomore season as an infielder for Benedictine. Last season, Woynerowski hit .305 with 20 RBI’s.
Jared Trivette is entering his freshman season as an infielder for Benedictine.
Carthage
Brandon Mahoney is entering his freshman season as a 1B for Carthage.
Jimmy Mundo is entering his freshman season as an infielder for Carthage.
Carroll
Max Maney is entering his junior season as an infielder and RHP for the Pioneers. Maney went 1-2 last year on the mound with a 4.50 ERA in 22 innings of work.
Concordia-Chicago
Cooper Hynes is entering his sophomore season as a catcher at Concordia-Chicago. Hynes transferred in from Triton CC.
DePauw
Phillip Bork is entering his senior season as an infielder for the Tigers. Bork appeared in 5 games last season and hopes to contribute more in his senior campaign.
Maclain Neal is entering his junior season as an infielder for the Tigers. Neal appeared in 19 games last year with limited at bats. Neal looks to be a contributor this season for the Tigers.
Drew Mullarkey is entering his junior season as an infielder for the Tigers. Mullarkey also saw limited time appearing in 15 games last season, hitting .292. Mullarkey looks to make a bigger impact this season.
Elmhurst
Kyle Winkle is entering his freshman season as an infielder for the Blue Jays.
Franklin & Marshall
Matt Kann is entering his sophomore season as a 1B for the Dipolmats. Kann hit .296 in his freshman season with 19 RBI’s. Kann looks to have an big sophomore season this year.
Hendrix
JP Medick is entering his sophomore season as an outfielder for Hendrix College. Medick saw limited action last year only getting 14 at bats and hitting .143. Medick looks to make a bigger impact this year.
Illinois Institute of Technology
Dave Navarro is entering his sophomore season as a catcher at IIT. Navarro played in 27 games as a freshman, hitting .196 with a double and 4 RBI’s. Navarro looks to get more at bats and starts this upcoming season.
Kenyon
Jack Anderson is entering his freshman season as an outfielder for Kenyon.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Travis Hank is entering his senior season as a RHP for the Engineers. Last season he appeared in 4 games, going 1-1 with 9 strikeouts and a 8.10 ERA.
Monomouth
Hunter De La Rosa is entering his freshman season as a RHP for the Fighting Scots.
North Central
Jonathan Keller is entering his freshman season as a RHP and infielder for the Cardinals.
Oglethorpe
Ian Wilson is entering his sophomore season as an infielder for Oglethorpe. His freshman season he only got into one game, so he is looking to have a bigger role as a sophomore this year.
St. Thomas
Will Jackson is entering his freshman season as an utility player and RHP at St. Thomas.
Transylvania
Austin Butts is a redshirt junior this season as a RHP and outfielder. Butts appeared in 39 games last season, hitting .248 with 18 RBI’s, along with pitching 7 innings last season going 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA. Butts looks to be a key contributor this year for his squad.
Union
Elias Kuhns is entering his sophomore season as an outfielder for Union College. Kuhns only got 9 at bats last season, hitting .111 with an RBI. Kuhns looks to get in the lineup more this year.
University of Chicago
Brian Lyle is entering his sophomore season as an infielder for U of Chicago. Lyle had a great freshman campaign, where he hit .336 with 23 RBI’s in 38 games. Lyle will look to build off his strong freshman season this year.
Ben Rosengard is entering his freshman season as an infielder and RHP for U of Chicago.
Webster
Andrew Padilla is entering his sophomore season as a RHP for the Gorlaks. Last season, Padilla made 8 appearances throwing 11.1 innings with a 3.97 ERA.
Mike Kogut is entering his senior season as a RHP for the Gorlaks. Kogut had limited time on the mound last season making 4 appearances. He looks to make a bigger impact this season.
Nate Tholl is entering his senior season as an infielder for the Gorlaks. Tholl had a great season last year, hitting .306 with 11 doubles. He transferred in after being at John A. Logan CC for two years.
Wisconsin-LaCrosse
Tommy Nelsen is entering his freshman season as an outfielder for the Eagles.
Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Tommy Duddleston is entering his junior season as an infielder. Last season, Duddleston hit .333 with 8 doubles, 2 triples and 15 RBI's.
