NCAA Division 1 College World Series Preview:

Top Tier has 4 alums playing in this years CWS and all four are from our Roos affiliate in Tampa, Florida.

Wake Forest who is the #1 overall seed in this years CWS is 52-10 overall and are the favorites to win it all. On that team we have Cam Minacci who is the closer and has 12 saves on the year with an ERA of 2.73 in 29.2 innings with 44 strikeouts. Derek Crum also comes out of the bullpen and has pitched well this year as well with a 3.38 ERA in 16 innings with 14 strikeouts. Wake Forest will face Stanford in the opening round of the CWS this weekend.

Florida who is the #2 overall seed in the this years CWS is 50-15 overall and are also one of the favorites to win it all. On that team we have Cade Kurland who is a freshman All-American that is their starting second baseman and lead off hitter. Kurland is currently hitting .300 with 16 doubles, 16 homers and 46 RBI's. Nick Ficarrotta a veteran bullpen arm for the Gators is also looking to help out as he made 20 relief appearances this year earning a 5.45 ERA over 34.2 innings with 41 strikeouts. The Gators will face Virginia in the opening round of the CWS this weekend.
