Major League Baseball top performers from our Top Tier Alumni this past week.

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals
Got the win this week vs. Miami going 6.2 innings giving up 6 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and striking out 7. On the year, he has moved to 3-3 with a 2.89 ERA.

Tyler Ladendorf, Oakland Athletics
Got his 1st big league hit since being called back up to the Athletics vs. New York Yankees. This past week he got 4 starts at second base and made an appearance in every game.

Minor League Baseball top performers from our Top Tier Alumni this past week.

Ryan Borucki, Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays)
Got the start last week, going 6 innings giving up 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks while striking out 4 to take the loss.

Paul DeJong, Springfield Cardinals (Cardinals)
Had another home run, 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s this past week.

Rob Scahill, Indianapolis Indians (Pirates)
He made 3 relief appearances this week, going a total 3.2 innings giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks while striking out 3.  On the year he has a 2.89 ERA.

Kyle Hunter, Jackson Generals (Mariners)
Made 2 appearances this past week going a total of 3.1 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, 0 walks while striking out one.

Karch Kowalczyk, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Dodgers)
Made one appearance in relief this past week going 1 inning giving up 1 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks while striking out one.  On the year, he has a 1.69 ERA.

Ryan Koziol, Augusta GreenJackets (Giants)
Made two appearances going a total of 3.2 inning giving up 0 hits, 0 earned runs, 0 walks and 3 strikeouts. On the year, he has a 1.69 ERA.

Jeremy Rhoades, Inland Empire 66ers (Angels)
Made 2 starts this past week going a total of 6 innings each time out, giving up a total of 9 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks while striking out 11.  On the year, he has a 4.93 ERA.

Danny Mayer, Pacific
Went 8 for 17 this past week, hitting .471 with a home run, a double and 2 RBI’s. The Tigers beat Sacramento State and lost 2 of 3 vs. Pepperdine. Mayer earned All-WCC First team honors for his offensive efforts this year. He finished with the 2nd most home runs in Pacific history.  He had a .314 average, 16 doubles, 1 triple, 15 home runs, and 40 RBI’s. He ended the year with a 22-game hitting streak.

Brad Margolin, Wash U
He got a start and a relief appearance in his D3 NCAA Regional. He got the win vs. Augustana going 9 innings giving up 4 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks while striking out 4. He came in relief vs. UW-Whitewater in an elimination game going 6 more innings giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk while striking out 8. However, Wash U lost to UW-Whitewater in extra innings. Margolin finished the year 8-1 and earned 1st team All-UAA and Central Region Pitcher of the Year.

Max Golembo, Wash U
Went 8 for 15, hitting .533 in the D3 NCAA Regional with multiple hits in all 4 games they played in.  Wash U finished 33-18 on the year, good for the second best record in program history.

Anthony Drago, Illinois
Went 3 for 7 this past weekend vs. Michigan hitting .429. Illinois took 2 of 3 from Michigan on the weekend but fell just short of making the Big Ten playoffs.

Jason Scholl, Eastern Illinois
Had another great offensive outburst this past weekend going 5 for 13, hitting .385 with 3 doubles and another RBI. Eastern Illinois went on to sweep SIUE this past weekend.

Frankie Perrone, Eastern Illinois
Went 4 for 11 hitting .364 with 2 home runs, and 5 RBI’s on the weekend.

Ben Dickey, Northwestern
Went 4 for 11 this past weekend, hitting .364 with 3 RBI’s, helping the Wildcats take 2 of 3 from Rutgers.

Sean Hjelle, Kentucky
Made one relief appearance this past weekend, going 1 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 run, 0 walks and 1 strikeout. Hjelle was selected on the All-SEC Freshman Team after going 4-1 on the year, with 8 saves, a 3.74 ERA, throwing 21.2 innings giving up 25 hits, 9 earned runs, 11 walks while striking out 29 on the year.

Zach Lewis, Wichita State
Made 2 appearances this past week, one in relief vs. Kansas going .2 innings striking out 2. Then he got the start  vs. Dallas Baptist going 6 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 walk while striking out 4. The Shockers beat Kansas in the mid-week game and lost 2 of 3 vs. Dallas Baptist this past weekend.

Ben Browdy, Wash U
Went 6 for 19, hitting .316 at the D3 NCAA Regionals this past weekend. He had 2 doubles and 8 RBI’s. Browdy was named UAA Co-Player of the Year, and 2nd team All Central Region Team. On the year, he hit .352 with 18 doubles, 3 triples, 5 home runs, and an NCAA best in Division 3, 79 RBI’s.

Brett Newberg, Austin Peay
Made 2 appearances this past week, going 3 innings total giving up 4 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk while striking out one.

Kevin Coppin, Concordia-Chicago
Went 4 for 12 in the D3 NCAA Regional this past weekend, hitting .333 with 5 RBI’s.  The Cougars ended the season with a 34-13 record.

Charley Gould, William & Mary
Went 4 for 11 on the weekend, hitting .364 with a double and 2 RBI’s vs. Charleston. Gould was honored as a 2nd team All-CAA selection after leading the team with a .342 batting average with 18 doubles, 5 home runs, 40 RBI’s with a slugging percentage of .505 and on base percentage of .447.

Nick Bates, Saint Louis
Got the win this past weekend vs. George Washington going 2 innings giving up 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and one strikeout.  Saint Louis went on to win all 3 games vs. George Washington this past weekend.

Trey Schramm, Xavier
Got the save this past weekend vs. Villanova going 5 innings of relief giving up 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks while striking out one. Xavier swept Villanova on the weekend and won the Big East regular season crown going 14-4 on the year.

Michael Costanzo, Austin Peay
Got the win this past weekend vs. Oklahoma going 5 innings giving up 5 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk while striking out 3.  On the year, he moved to 7-4 and helped Austin Peay get their only win on the weekend vs. Oklahoma.

Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
Went 1 inning of relief in the D3 NCAA Regional giving up 0 hits, and 0 runs. Then turned around and got the start in their final game getting a no-decision going 6.2 innings giving up 11 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks while striking out 2.  Concordia-Chicago finished the season with a 34-13 record.

Jack Landwehr, Illinois State
Went 1.1 innings in relief this past weekend vs. Missouri State giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, and 0 walks.

Tyler Lass, Northwestern
Made 3 appearances this past weekend, earning a save and going 2.1 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 run, 1 walk while striking out 1.  Northwestern took 2 of 3 from Rutgers.

Adam Walton, Illinois
Went 4 for 13 on the weekend vs. Michigan, hitting .308 with a double and 4 RBI’s.

Jason Goldstein, Illinois
Was solid this weekend helping his team take 2 of 3 from Michigan.  Goldstein earned All Big Ten 3rd team this year, by hitting .312, with 5 doubles, 4 home runs, and 29 RBI’s.  He was regarded as one of the best defensive catchers in the league.

Richard Fordon, Northwestern
Made one appearance in relief going 1 inning giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, and 1 walk.

Jack Czeszewski, Illinois State
Threw one inning of relief this past weekend giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walk while striking out 1.

Brett Shimanovsky, Saint Louis
Went 1.1 innings of relief this past weekend giving up 0 hits, 0 runs and 0 walks.  He had a clean sheet to help Saint Louis sweep George Washington.
