Major League Baseball top performers from our Top Tier Alumni this past week.

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals
Got 2 starts this past week, getting a No Decision pitching 7.1 innings vs. Kansas City giving up 6 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 walks and striking out 4. Then he turned around on the weekend and out pitched Jake Arrieta and the Chicago Cubs only to collect another No Decision going 6 inning giving up 4 hits, 0 earned runs, 2 walks, and striking out 7. He is 2-2 on the year with a 2.03 ERA.

Minor League Baseball top performers from our Top Tier Alumni this past week.

Paul DeJong, Springfield Cardinals (Cardinals)
Had another monster offensive week going 8 for 25, hitting an impressive .320. This week’s huge outburst included 4 home runs, a double, 6 walks and 7 RBI’s.

Rob Scahill, Indianapolis Indians (Pirates)
Got moved back down to the Triple A team after being up with the Pirates. He made 2 appearances this past week, throwing a total of 2 innings giving up 2 hits, 1 earned run, 0 walks and striking out one.

Tyler Ladendorf, Nashville Sounds (Athletics)
Got moved back down to the Triple A team after being up for a brief stint with the Athletics. He has had a hit in every game this past week, since being sent back down. Currently he is hitting .256 for the Sounds.  He just got called back up to the Big Leagues last night to play with Oakland for the Boston series due to some injuries on the A's roster.

Kyle Hunter, Jackson Generals (Mariners)
Made 2 appearances this past week, throwing a total of 5 innings of relief giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks and striking out one. On the year, he has a 1.23 ERA.

Karch Kowalczyk, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Dodgers)
Made 2 appearances this past week going a total of 2.2 innings. In those innings he gave up a total of 2 hits, 0 earned runs, 2 walks and struck out 2.  On the year, he has a 1.00 ERA.

Ryan Koziol, Augusta GreenJackets (Giants)
Made one appearance this past week going 2.1 innings of relief giving up 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks and striking out 3. On the year, he has a 3.94 ERA.

Sean Hjelle, Kentucky
Was named Co-SEC Freshman of the Week for his pitching performance versus #2 ranked in the nation, South Carolina. In that performance, Sean threw 4 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win and help his team clinch the series on the weekend. He only gave up 2 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks and struck out 5 Gamecock hitters. On the year, he is 4-0 as a freshman with a 2.33 ERA in 19 appearances. In those 19 appearances he has thrown 19.1 innings of relief while striking out 26. Kentucky is 29-19 on the year.

Jesse Forestell, Western Michigan
Went 5 for 11 this past weekend versus Miami (OH), hitting .455 with a hit in every game and 2 RBI’s. The Broncos took 2 of 3 from Miami (OH) this past weekend.

Mike Farnan, South Suburban CC
Went 12 for 20 this past week, hitting .600 with 5 doubles and 4 RBI’s. On the year, he is leading his team in batting average, hitting .370, in hits with 68, in doubles with 19, in triples with 5 and in home runs with 7.

Corey Krupske, Triton CC
Went 6 for 11 this past week, hitting .545. On the year, he is leading his team in batting average, hitting .412, in hits with 68, in triples with 7 and in stolen bases with 38.

Tyler Lass, Northwestern
Had a great weekend with Northwestern, helping them get the sweep versus Purdue this past weekend. He made 3 appearances and threw 4 innings relief this past week, giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 walks and one strikeout. He earned his 1st and 2nd career saves this past weekend vs. Purdue.

Seth Rosenberg, Northern Kentucky
Earned his 1st win of the year, tossing 5 innings of relief versus Valpo, giving up only 5 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks and striking out 3.

Danny Mayer, Pacific
Continued to stay hot at the plate, getting a hit in every game this past week. He went 5 for 16, hitting .313 with another home run, a double and 4 RBI’s. He is currently hitting .299 for the year, leading his team in hits with 59, in home runs with 13 and in doubles with 15.

Richard Fordon, Northwestern
Made 3 appearances this past week in relief, throwing a total of 2.1 innings, giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, and one walk.

Mark Chemello, Saint Joseph’s College
Made 2 relief appearances this past weekend, going a total of 5 innings, giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk while striking out 3.

Charley Gould, William & Mary
Went 3 for 9 on the weekend, hitting .333 with another home run, a double, 4 walks and 2 RBI’s. William & Mary took 2 of 3 from Towson this weekend. On the year, he is hitting .330 with 16 doubles, 5 home runs, and 35 RBI’s.

Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
Threw 2.2 innings of relief to collect the win versus Lakeland to improve his record to 5-0 on the year. In his relief stint, he gave up 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks while striking out 3. Concordia-Chicago finished the regular season with a 29-11 record.

Willie Bourbon, Northwestern
Went 4 for 13 on the week, hitting .308 with a double and 4 RBI’s. He is now leading the Wildcats in triples and is 2nd on the team in RBI’s.

Trey Schramm, Xavier
Made 2 appearances in relief on the weekend, going 1.1 innings, giving up only one hit, 0 runs, and one walk. Xavier swept Seton Hall on the weekend and improved to 9-3 in the Big East Conference. On the year, he has a 3.52 ERA with a 2-0 record in 20 appearances.

Jack Landwehr, Illinois State
Made 2 appearances this past weekend going 2.1 innings of relief. He gave up 3 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk while striking out 4, while picking up the save in their only win on the weekend versus Bradley.

Jack Czesweski, Illinois State
Made 2 appearances this past weekend, tossing 2 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 run, 1 walk while striking out 2.

Quinn Snarskis, Saint Joseph’s College
Threw 2 innings of relief this past weekend giving up only one hit, 0 runs, 0 walks and struck out 2.

Marty Napleton, Saint Joseph’s College
Went 4 for 12 on the weekend, hitting .333 with a double.

Aaron Fuller, John A. Logan CC
Went 7 for 23 this past week, hitting .304 with a home run.

Anthony Drago, Illinois
Went 3-10 on the weekend, hitting .300 with a double to help Illinois take 2 of 3 from Maryland.

Kyle Colletta, Northern Kentucky
Went 3 for 4 on the weekend in 2 games, hitting .750.  Northern Kentucky lost twice to UIC on the weekend and beat Valpo twice on the weekend.

Nick Bates, Saint Louis University
Threw 1 inning of relief giving up 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and 1 strikeout vs VCU.

Brett Shimanovsky, Saint Louis University
Made 2 appearances, throwing 1.1 innings of relief giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks while striking out 2.

Max Allen, Georgetown
Threw 1 inning of relief vs. Creighton giving up 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, while striking out 1.

Kevin Coppin, Concordia-Chicago
Went 1 for 3 with a grand slam home run on the weekend. Concordia-Chicago finished the regular season with a 29-11 record.
