Major League Baseball Top Performances in Week #9:

Tanner Roark (Class of 2005)Washington Nationals

Roark got another big win this week vs. Oakland A's improving to 6-2 on the year. He went 7.2 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk while striking out 4. Roark currently has a 3.95 ERA and has helped his club to stay in 1st place in the NL East Division. 

Paul DeJong (Class of 2011), St. Louis Cardinals
DeJong went 5 for 22 this past week playing every day at second base for the Cardinals. He collected another double and 3 RBI's. He is currently hitting .296 since being pulled up.

Rob Scahill (Class of 2005), Milwaukee Brewers
Scahill made two relief appearances this past week going a total of 1.1 innings vs. New York Mets giving up 1 run on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1. He currently has a 2.51 ERA and has helped keep the Brewers in 1st place in the NL Central Division. 

Minor League Baseball Top Performances in Week #9:

Karch Kowalczyk (Class of 2009), Tulsa Drillers (Double A, Dodgers)

Kowalczyk made three relief appearances this past week going a total of 4.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 3 walks while striking out 3. In those three appearances he picked up two wins to move him to 3-1 on the year with a 2.89 ERA.

Ryan Borucki (Class of 2012)
Borucki threw 5 innings in his start this past week giving up 1 earned run on 6 hits, 1 walk while striking out 5. He currently has a 3.66 ERA on the year. 

Jeremy Rhoades (Class of 2011)
, Inland Empire 66ers (High A, Angels)
Rhoades made one relief appearance this past week going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 3. Rhoades currently has 8.44 ERA.

Tyler Ladendorf (Class of 2006), Charlotte Knights (Triple A, White Sox)
Ladendorf went 3 for 12 this past week with a double and 2 RBI's. Ladendorf is currently hitting .231 on the year.

Adam Walton (Class of 2012), Kane County Cougars (Low A, Diamondbacks)
Walton collected one hit this past week and is hitting .118 on the year. 

Jason Goldstein (Class of 2012), Beloit Snappers (Low A, Athletics)

NCAA Division 1 Top Tier Alumni Updates in Regional Championships:

Sean Hjelle (Class of 2015), Kentucky

Hjelle got the win vs. Ohio University in the 1st round of NCAA Regional play going 7 innings giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, 3 walks while striking out 3. He is now 10-3 on the year with a 3.87 ERA. He has struck out 94 hitters in 100 innings of work on the year and has helped the Wildcats to a 42-21 record. Hjelle with his outstanding year on the mound was selected as a 2nd team All-American. Kentucky will play NC State in the Regional Championship final later tonight.

Cal Coughlin (Class of 2016), TCU
Couglin threw one inning of relief vs. Central Connecticut State in their NCAA Regional giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1. He has a 1.80 ERA out of the bullpen this year with 21 strikeouts in 20 innings as a true freshman. TCU is now 44-16 overall and will play the winner of Virginia and Dallas Baptist in the NCAA Regional Championship Finals tonight. 

Trey Schramm (Class of 2015), Xavier
Schramm made two relief appearances in the NCAA Regional. In his 1st outing he gave up 3 runs on 4 hits and didn't record an out where they lost to Oklahoma. Then he bounced back and collected the save vs. Radford going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 1. Xavier went on to beat Oklahoma and then lost in the NCAA Regional Final to Louisville to end their season with a record of 34-27. Schramm finished the season with a 4.54 ERA, 4 saves and a 2-3 record. He also had 39 strikeouts in 39.2 innings of work.

Matt Fallon (Class of 2013), Xavier
Fallon collected only one hit in the NCAA Regional as Xavier lost in the Finals to Louisville. He finished the year hitting .243 with 8 doubles and 2 homeruns. 

Matt Burch (Class of 2016), Arkansas
Burch got in to pinch run and score a run in their NCAA Regional. Arkansas will play Missouri State in the NCAA Regional Final tonight. Arkansas is 45-18 on the year and Burch in his 32 at bats in limited action has 2 doubles as a true freshman.
