Major League Baseball top performers from our Top Tier Alumni this past week.

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals
Took the loss vs. Miami this week going 5 innings giving up 8 hits, 7 runs, 3 walks and striking out 5. On the year, he has pitched 49.1 innings with a 3.10 ERA

Tyler Ladendorf, Oakland Athletics
Got two at bats vs. Boston last week and got the start vs. Tampa Bay last week. He is starting to see more time at second base since being called back up to the big leagues.

Ryan Borucki, Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays)
Got the start last week, going 5 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk while striking out 5.

Paul DeJong, Springfield Cardinals (Cardinals)
Had another home run this week and collected 4 more hits.

Rob Scahill, Indianapolis Indians (Pirates)
He made 3 relief appearances this week, going a total 1.2 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, 0 walks with 6 strikeouts.  On the year, he has a 3.18 ERA coming out of the bullpen.

Kyle Hunter, Jackson Generals (Mariners)
Made 2 appearances this past week, throwing 6 innings giving up 6 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 walks and striking out 3. On the year, he has a 3.05 ERA out of the bullpen.

Karch Kowalczyk, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Dodgers)
Made 2 appearances this past week, going 2 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks while striking out one. On the year, he has a 1.64 ERA coming out of the bullpen.

Ryan Koziol, Augusta GreenJackets (Giants)
Made three appearances this week, going 4.2 innings giving up 8 hits, 2 earned runs, 4 walks and struck out 2. On the year, he has 3.94 ERA coming out of the bullpen.

Jeremy Rhoades, Inland Empire 66ers (Angels)
Got the start this week and took the loss going 6 innings giving up 4 hits, 3 earned runs, one walk and striking out 3. On the year, he has a 5.79 ERA.

Jack Landwehr, Illinois State
Earned two saves this past week and made 3 appearances out of the bullpen. He threw a total of 4.1 innings giving up 6 hits, 1 run, 0 walks and struck out 4. He helped the Redbirds take 2 out of 3 from Wichita State. On the year he has an ERA of 2.78 with 5 saves.

Michael Schalasky, University of Indianapolis
Got the start and the win in the GLVC Semi-Finals of their conference tournament, going 8 innings, giving up 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and striking out 9.  He and his team went on to win the GLVC Championship and are onto the Division 2 Regionals. They finished the regular season at 37-19.

Jason Scholl, Eastern Illinois
Had a good offensive performance this past weekend going 5 for 11, hitting .455 with a home run and 4 RBI’s.

Jason Goldstein, Illinois
Had a good offensive weekend vs. Indiana, going 5 for 12, hitting .417. The Fighting Illini lost 2 of 3 from Indiana.

Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
Earned two saves on the weekend to help his team win the NACC Conference Championship.  In his 2 appearances, he went a total of 3 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 run, 2 walks while striking out 3. His team now moves onto the Division 3 Regionals, and finished the season off with a 32-11 record.

Brad Margolin, Wash U
Earned a win and a save this past week.  He went a complete game 9 innings to pick up the win giving up 8 hits, 3 runs, 0 walks and striking out 4. He then earned a save 2 days later going 0.2 innings giving up 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks.  Wash U earned an at large bid into the Division 3 Regionals, due to their impressive 31-16 record.

Trey Schramm, Xavier
Went 2.0 innings of relief vs. Creighton giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, and 4 walks.  This helped them take 2 of 3 games from Creighton on the weekend.

Wyatt Spector, DePauw
Got the win on the weekend, going 8 innings giving up 7 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk and striking out 4.  DePauw lost in the Finals however a day later in the NCAC Conference Championship.

Danny Mayer, Pacific
Went 5 for 15 on the weekend, hitting .333 with another home run and 2 RBI’s. On the year, he has 14 home runs and is hitting .302.

Frankie Perrone, Eastern Illinois
Went 4 for 12 on the weekend hitting .333 with 3 doubles, and 3 RBI’s.

Zack Wade, DePauw
Went 6 for 15 hitting .375 this past weekend in the NCAC Championships. It included 2 doubles, and 4 RBI’s.

David Meade, Illinois State
Went 6 innings in his start vs. Wichita State only to earn a no decision giving up 5 hits, 1 earned run, 5 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Mike Costanzo, Austin Peay
Went 7 innings in his start to earn a no decision giving up 6 hits, 3 earned runs, 1 walk and striking out 5. Austin Peay won all three games on the weekend vs. SIUE.

Willie Bourbon, Northwestern
Went 2 for 4 this past weekend in two starts vs. California. The Wildcats lost all three to Cal.

Mitch Vogrin, Illinois State
Made 3 appearances this weekend going 2.2 innings giving up 2 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk and striking out 2.

Justin Kelly, Wayne State
Went 3 for 11 on the weekend, with a home run, a triple and 4 RBI’s in the GLIAC Conference Championships.  He finished the season hitting .319 with 9 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, and 40 RBI’s.
