Top Tier Alums set to kick off the start of the 2020 season this weekend
Here is a look into the Top Tier players ready to kick off the NCAA Division 1 season. There are 75 former players taking the field on opening day this weekend. Here is the list of them:

Arkansas


Nathan Rintz is a freshman RHP for the Razorbacks this year. Rintz is a low 90’s arm looking to possibly get some innings out of the bullpen for a pre-season ranked Top 10 team in the nation in multiple polls. 

Arizona State


Bryce Barnett is a freshman on the ASU Pitching Staff this year, looking to make an impact out of the bullpen for the Sun Devils. Arizona State has been ranked as high as #5 in the nation in the Pre-Season 2020 rankings.

Army 


Anfernee Crompton is a senior outfielder this year for Army. Crompton saw limited action last year and looks to hopefully get more playing time as a senior.


Joe Santoro is a senior RHP for Army this year. Santoro appeared in 14 games last season finishing with a 7.11 ERA. Santoro is looking to have a great senior campaign this season. 

Belmont


Austin Ehren is a red-shirt freshman outfielder for the Bruins this year. 

Bradley 


Keaton Rice is a junior catcher for the Braves. Rice has started almost every game this year behind the dish for the Braves. He is a two-time All-MVC second team selection both years he has been at Bradley and is a career .266 hitter for the Braves. He is looking to have a huge junior season this upcoming season. 


Ryan Hodgett is a senior RHP for the Braves. Hodgett was injured last season and only got 1.2 innings off the mound last season. He is looking to make a bigger impact out of the bullpen for Bradley this season. 

Brown


Raymond Sass is a freshman infielder for Brown University this year. Sass looks to try to crack the lineup as a very projectable middle infielder this year.

Dayton


Andrew Zapka is a junior RHP for the Flyers this season. Zapka is in his first year at Dayton after transferring in from Heartland CC. 

Florida 


Hunter Mink is a freshman RHP for the Gators. Florida is ranked in the Top 10 in almost every pre-season poll ranking to start the 2020 season. Mink is RHP that runs it up to mid 90s and will look to try to help the Gators out of the bullpen this season. 

Florida Atlantic


Marc DeGuspie is a freshman LHP for FAU. 

George Washington


Trey Torain is a sophomore infielder and catcher for the Colonials this year. Torain made 13 appearances in games last season, hitting .200 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Torain looks to try to make a bigger impact for the Colonials going into this season. 

High Point


Dawson Place is a freshman RHP for High Point this year. Place looks to get some innings on the mound out of the bullpen as he is a projectable RHP.

Holy Cross


Andrew McKenna is a freshman catcher for the Crusaders. He is looking to be a big impact in the Holy Cross lineup this year. 

Illinois 


Jimmy Burnette is entering his junior season as a LHP looking to have an important role on the pitching staff this year. Burnette appeared in four games last year, but the Fighting Illini had a seasoned staff. This year, Burnette is in the Top 20 Best MLB Draft picks for Big Ten baseball players this year with a fastball that ranges in mid 90’s. 


Danny Doligale is a freshman outfielder looking to make an impact in the Fighting Illini lineup this upcoming season. 


Grant Leader is a freshman RHP looking to make a huge impact on the mound in relief as he runs it up in the low 90’s with his fastball. 


Nick Menken is a transfer red-shirt senior at Illinois. The last two years, Menken has played outfield for Virginia Tech. He only got seven games in last year due to injury but his junior year at Virginia Tech he hit .246 and played in 52 of the 54 games. Menken looks to be a veteran outfielder to help the Illini out this season. 


Kellen Sarver is entering his redshirt-sophomore season as a catcher this year. Last year, Sarver was the Fighting Illini starting first baseman in every game last year hitting .269 with 29 RBI’s. Sarver is the #24 ranked MLB Draft prospect in the Big Ten according to D1baseball.

Illinois State


Jeremy Gaines is a red-shirt junior infielder for the Redbirds this season. Gaines played in 32 games last season hitting .306. Gaines looks to be a key contributor to help the Redbirds get back to a NCAA Regional again. 


Brady Huffman is a red-shirt junior for the Redbirds this season. Huffman didn’t play last season due to injury. He has a 4.64 ERA in two years pitching at ISU with 109 strikeouts in 137 innings pitched. They look for big things for Huffman as a starter for the Redbirds. 


Jordan Libman is a senior outfielder for the Redbirds this season. Libman started and played in all 62 games last season. He finished the season hitting .299 and was a staple in the Redbirds lineup last season. They will look for Libman to be a key part of the Redbirds lineup to get back to another NCAA Regional. 


Mike Sebby is a senior LHP for the Redbirds this season. Sebby made 13 appearances out of the bullpen last year with a 3.21 ERA in 14 innings of work. Sebby will be looked to get much more work out of the bullpen this year. 


Sean Sinisko is a red-shirt freshman this year for ISU. Sinisko didn’t play last season due to injury. The Redbirds will look to Sinisko to be a good LHP out of the bullpen this year. 

Iowa


Tyler Snep is a freshman catcher at Iowa this year. Snep will look to be a good left handed bat to come off the bench this season and back up catch for the Hawkeyes. 

IPFW


Travis Upp is a senior firstbaseman for IPFW this year. Upp has been a mainstay at first base for IPFW, hitting a career .219 with 20 doubles and 4 homers in his career. He is looking to have a big senior year under new head coach Doug Schreiber. 

Kansas State


Logan Mueller is a freshman RHP for the Wildcats. He will be looking to help Kansas State out of the bullpen this season. 

Maryland


Mark DiLuia is a junior RHP for the Terrapins this year. Last season, DiLuia pitched mainly out of the bullpen appearing in 24 games recording a 5.45 ERA with 38 strikeouts in 38 innings of work. DiLuia looks to make a big impact for the Terrapins staff this year. 

Memphis


Nick Jones is a red-shirt freshman this year for the Tigers. Last season, Jones appeared in five games before he had to miss the majority of the season due to injury. Jones looks to be a key contributor behind the dish for the Tigers this year. 

Miami (OH)


Steven Hamer is a sophomore outfielder and LHP for Miami Ohio. Hamer saw limited action in both roles last year, looking to make more of an impact this year. 

Minnesota


Noah Berghammer is a red-shirt freshman infielder for the Gophers. 


Mike Gurka is a freshman RHP for the Gophers this year. Gurka looks to get possibly a little time out of the bullpen this year, however Minnesota’s pitching staff has a ton of veterans and are poised to be really good this year. 


Chase Stanke is a sophomore catcher for the Gophers. As a freshman he played in 20 games and hit .220 on the year. This year the Gophers look for Stanke to be a bigger contributor behind the dish for them. 


Andrew Wilhite is a sophomore outfielder for the Gophers. As a freshman he played in 33 games and hit .229 on the year. This year it looks like he will get in the lineup more often and make a bigger impact in the Gophers lineup. 

Missouri


Konnor Ash is a junior RHP for the Tigers this year. Ash had a breakout sophomore season for the Tigers with a 4.19 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 53.2 innings pitched. Ash is a mid-90s arm that runs with a power breaking ball, looking to have a huge junior season. Ash after coming off a great Cape League Summer is high on a lot MLB Draft boards this year. 

Missouri State


Collin Clayton is a senior outfielder this year for the Bears. Last season, Clayton saw action in 41 games, only hitting .195. He looks to have a bounce back year this year. 


Dakota Kotowski is a sophomore this year for the Bears. Last season, Kotowski was named Freshman Player of the Year in the MVC and was also named to the All-American list for Freshman. Last season, Kotowski hit 12 homers and a .576 slugging percentage. Kotowski is a Pre-Season MVC All-Conference selection. He looks to have another huge year at the plate for the Bears. 

Morehead State


Stephen Hill is a red-shirt junior this season for Morehead State. Hill started in all 55 games last season hitting .327 with 10 doubles, 6 homers and 37 RBI’s. Morehead State is looking for another huge offensive season from Hill this season. 

Murray State


Kevin Dowling is a freshman outfielder looking to possibly be a starter this year after a great freshman Fall. If he doesn’t start they are looking for big things out of Dowling this year to help the Racers to have a successful 2020 season. 

North Carolina A&T


Scott Meitzler is a sophomore catcher for North Carolina A&T this year. Meitzler didn’t see any action last season. 

Notre Dame


Casey Kmet is a freshman catcher for the Fighting Irish. Kmet unfortunately had an injury during the end of Fall Ball that might sideline him for the much of the season this Spring. Good things to come for Kmet though when he does get healthy. 

North Alabama


Cosi Scinta is a freshman RHP for North Alabama this year. Scinta looks to get some time out of the bullpen for the Lions. 

North Carolina


Michael Oh is a junior RHP for the Tarheels this season. Oh is in his first season with North Carolina after transferring in from NIACC, where he was dominating last season posting a 2.28 ERA. Tarheels are ranked in the Top 25 in most pre-season polls. 

Northern Illinois


Brandon McPherson is a sophomore RHP for the Huskies this season. McPherson is in his first year at NIU after transferring in for Wabash Valley CC where he went 2-0 with 8 strikeouts in 10.2 innings of work last season.

Northwestern 


Charlie Bourbon is a junior converted catcher and outfielder for the Wildcats this season. Bourbon has only made one appearance on the mound in his career at Northwestern before they converted him into a position player this year. 


Hank Christie is a senior RHP for the Wildcats. Christie only made 6 starts last season due to injury and was 1-2 with 31 strikeouts in 33 innings of work. Christie is looking to get back to his old form as he had 29 starts in his first two years for the Wildcats and has a career ERA of 4.67. 

Oakland


Mike Chialdikas is a freshman infielder for the Golden Grizzlies. They are looking for him to make an impact as a left handed hitter in the infield for them.


Austin Higgins is a freshman infielder for the Golden Grizzlies. They are looking for him to make an impact as a switch hitter in the infield for them.

Ohio University


Jack Coney is a red-shirt junior infielder for the Bobcats this year. Coney didn’t see much time last year, but is looking to play a bigger role this year. 

Old Dominion


Matt Burch is a senior infielder for the Monarchs. Burch started all 56 games last season, hitting .298 with 2 homers and 32 RBI’s along with leading the team with 14 stolen bases. Burch is looking to have a great senior campaign this year. 

Presbyterian


Brandon Williams is a red-shirt junior RHP for Presbyterian College this year. Williams transferred in from Polk State CC where he pitched really well. 

Purdue


Ryan Howe is a sophomore infielder for the Boilermakers this year. Howe played in 48 games last year as a freshman and hit .221 with a .988 fielding percentage. Howe looks to take the playing time as freshman to have a huge sophomore year for the Boilermakers in 2020.


Dalton Parker is a senior RHP for the Boilermakers this year. Parker was All-Academic Big Ten last year in his 11 appearances due to coming back from injuries. Parker should be a huge contributor this year as one of the staple arms for the Boilermakers. He is a career 3.91 ERA with 79 strikeouts in 94.1 innings of work in three years. 


Conner Tomasic is a sophomore infielder and RHP for the Boilermakers this year. He played in 23 games as a freshman last year, making 14 relief appearances on the mound and getting games at 3rd base. Tomasic had a 2.75 ERA last year with 15 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work, and hit .250 in 12 at bats. Tomasic looks to have an even better year this year both on the mound and at the plate.

Saint Louis 


Marius Balandis is a transfer juco pitcher from Iowa Western CC. Balandis is looking to make an impact as a weekend starter this year for the Billikens. At Iowa Western CC he pitched really well out of the bullpen showing big time velocity up to 96 mph. 


Brendan Carrane is a freshman infielder for the Billikens this year. 


Zach Frieling is a junior infielder for the Billikens. Last season for the Billikens, Frieling played in 26 games before going down with an injury that ended his season. At that time he was hitting .253. 


Khyle Radcliffe is a freshman outfielder for the Billikens. They are looking for Radcliffe to be an impact as a freshman in the outfield for them this year. 


Cam Redding is looking to have another great season as a sophomore this year. As a freshman, Redding made 43 starts hitting .307 on the year. The Billikens hope he continues to be a staple in the lineup again this season. 


Scott Youngbrandt is a sophomore infielder/pitcher for the Billikens this year. Last year, Youngbrandt saw more time in the field than pitching, as he started 40 games hitting .216 on the year. This year, Youngbrandt looks to make a much bigger impact on the pitching rotation for the Billikens as they graduated a lot of veteran pitchers.

Southeast Missouri State


Austin Blazevic is a senior infielder at SEMO this year. Last season, Blazevic hit .281 with 3 homers and 25 RBI’s. Blazevic looks to have a big year for SEMO this year at the plate. 


Collin Wilma is a freshman RHP at SEMO this year. Wilma looks to get some promising time on the mound this year for the Redhawks.

South Florida


Tanner Mink is a freshman infielder and RHP for South Florida. He hopes to help the Bulls in both ways this season.

TCU


Cal Coughlin is a senior RHP for TCU. Coughlin has been a staple out of the bullpen in his first 3 years at TCU. He has made 76 appearances with 64 strikeouts in 78 innings of work with a career ERA of 2.65. Coughlin looks to have a huge senior year and get TCU back to Omaha. 

USC-Upstate


Robby McGaha is a senior outfielder for the Spartans. McGaha started in 36 of  the 39 games last season, hitting .255 with 2 homers and 23 RBI’s. He is looking to have a great senior senior as a starting outfielder for USC-Upstate 

Valparaiso


Keegan Bates is a sophomore LHP for Valpo. Bates appeared in 15 games last season, logging 37 innings striking out 28 on the year. They look for Bates to do more in the 2020 season. 


Jacob Rosenkranz is a freshman RHP for Valpo this year. Rosenkranz is a projectable RHP that has climbed his fastball up into the low 90s looking to make a big impact for the Crusaders this year. 

Wake Forest


Derek Crum is a freshman outfielder looking to make an impact in the Demon Deacons lineup this year. 


Bobby Seymour is coming off a huge sophomore season where he
batted .377 with 20 doubles, nine homers and an NCAA-best 92 RBIs a season ago, also earning All-American honors and was named ACC Player of the Year. Seymour looks to have an even better junior season this year and he is high on a lot of MLB Draft boards. Seymour is a Pre-Season All-American selection and the Demon Deacons are pre-season ranked #17 this upcoming season. 

Western Illinois


Jack Carberry is a junior RHP for the Leathernecks this year. Last season, Carberry made 16 appearances with 6 starts going 5-4 with 47 strikeouts in 55.1 innings of work with a 6.67 ERA. Carberry looks to be an everyday starter for the Leathernecks this upcoming season.

Western Michigan


Gavin Doyle is a sophomore infielder and RHP for the Broncos. Doyle played in eight games last year, hitting .250. Doyle looks to make a bigger impact both at the plate and on the mound for Western Michigan this year. 


Brady Miller is a sophomore RHP for the Broncos. Miller is coming off a great freshman year, as he was named second-team All-MAC after going 5-2 as a starter with a 3.10 ERA. Western Michigan will lean on him again this year to be a premier starter for their pitching staff. 


Luke Pappas is a freshman LHP for the Broncos. Pappas who is a projectable LHP looking to help the Broncos out of the bullpen this year. 

Xavier 


Ryan Altenberger is a junior infielder for Xavier. Altenberger hit .259 last year with 5 homeruns and 25 RBI’s. Xavier looks for Altenberger to be a big bat in their lineup again this year. 


Trey Schramm is a graduate student at Xavier looking to close out his final season this year. Schramm made 20 relief appearances last year with a 3-2 record and 5.66 ERA. Schramm will be leaned upon heavily out of the bullpen as a veteran arm.
