After spending one final week at the Perfect Game complex in Emerson, GA the Top Tier Americans close the year out with one more podium finish.
The team was comprised of players from both Top Tier and the Top Tier Roos teams and put together quite a run. They started off with a tie against Tri-State Arsenal behind a strong relief appearance from Trey Hinchliffe. In game 2 they bounced back with a walk-off win against Northwest Baseball behind a strong offensive output that saw the team total 17 hits. They finished pull play with a record of 2-1-1 that allowed them advance to bracket play.
First game of bracket play pitted Top Tier against FTB Tucci out of Florida. Despite an early rain delay Top Tier found a way to fight through and score 5 runs in the 6th to win 6-0. In the quarterfinal round Top Tier squared off against Elite Squad. That game was a true back and forth battle with both teams refusing to give in. After Elite Squad scored two runs with two outs in the 6th, Top Tier scratched across one more in the 7th and then closed the door in the bottom half to secure the win.
The semi final game had them squaring off against one of the top teams in the country, Team Elite. The match-up lived up to the hype as both teams fought until the end. Ultimately, Team Elite persevered and won via a walk off single with two outs in the final frame before moving on to win the championship.
All-in-all it was a fantastic week for the team as they showed the country that Top Tier can battle it out with anybody in the country.
