Top Tier Roos 2023 Landen Maroudis Commits to NC State

Congrats on your new commitment! What is it about NC State that excites you the most?

Having the opportunity to play for a top rated University and work with great coaches.

You have been with Kangaroo Court since its inception, and will now be joining their high school division, Top Tier Roos. Tell us about your experience and what it means to be part of Kangaroo Court and Top Tier Roos.

KC/Top Tier always plays against the best competition, this has made me have to step up my game and challenges me to better myself athletically.

Talk a little bit about the recruiting process and how everything went down.

The recruiting process began my freshman year of high school. I attended a few camps at Colleges I was interested in. After attending the camp at NC State I realized there was no better place that fits for me. The coaches showed interest in me and I decided this was the place I would like to commit.

What were some of the priorities you looked at when deciding where you wanted to commit?

When deciding which school I was most interested in I looked at several different things. Academics, campus, historic baseball program and great coaching staff. At NC State all of these boxes were checked for me.

What challenges do you see ahead of you before you get to campus?

Maintaining a high GPA and scoring high on my SAT/ACT test. I also plan on continuing to get bigger and stronger so I am ready when I arrive on campus.

What are some of the goals you have set for yourself as a college baseball player?

Some goals I have set for myself would be to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree, being able to maintain the balance of being a 2 way player and the ultimate goal is to win a College World Series!

If you could give one piece of advice to all of the younger players coming up, what would it be?

Advice I would give is to always work hard and stay humble no matter what team you       play for. Always keep the game fun, but remember that nothing is given to you.

Is there anybody you would like to give a shout-out or thanks to?

I would like to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they have made to allow me the opportunity to play the game of baseball. I would also like to say thank you to all the great coaches who helped me along the way. Lastly I would like to give a shout out to all my teammates who have pushed me to be the best I can be.
