Top Tier and Schererville Baseball League partner to forge Top Tier Northwest Indiana

Top Tier Baseball is proud to announce a partnership with the Schererville Baseball League to forge Top Tier Northwest Indiana effective fall of 2024. The NWI expansion marks Top Tier’s 17th location and is housed roughly 40 miles southeast of HQ.

“We’re extremely excited about what’s to come in Northwest Indiana,” said Todd Fine, CEO of Top Tier Baseball. “The player-first mentality and the quality of people involved in this partnership make this a no-brainer.”

By joining forces, Schererville Baseball League and Top Tier land partners committed to providing opportunities and development for players across all ages.

“We interviewed several organizations from coast to coast while we tried to make this decision. The leadership at Top Tier was different,” said Dan Delonjay, Vice President of Baseball Operations at Schererville Baseball League. “They wanted to see how they could help us achieve our goals and wanted to make sure they were a good fit..”

The Schererville Baseball League began operations in 1971 and is composed of two components - the in-house program and travel program. The Schererville Shock will become Top Tier NWI after the summer season.

“The excitement also comes with some emotion, as we close one door on our existing Schererville Shock program, and open a new door with Top Tier,” said Christian Flores, Schererville League president. “The Shock program has held a special place in many hearts over my years involved in the organization, and well beyond my tenure.  But with the change, I am confident that the same sense of family and pride of our organization will continue to thrive.”

Top Tier Northwest Indiana will host its tryouts in early July. Tryouts and training take place at Schererville Baseball League’s privately-owned, five-field complex located in Crown Point, IN. More training and amenities are to come down the line.

“This collaboration will enable us to continue investing in capital improvement projects, such as indoor training facilities, batting cages and additional fields while enhancing our already robust 12-team program,” said Delonjay.

“After diligently seeking out the right partner for our organization, we have no doubt that both organizations have made the right move, said Flores. We are ecstatic with the opportunities and exposure that Top Tier will provide our organization well beyond the inception of Top Tier NWI.”
