Week #2 Top Tier Alumni Roundup: Top Performances in College Baseball
David Craan, Illinois
He had a explosive weekend both offensively and defensively at the Kleberg Bank Classic in Texas. He went 6 for 10 on weekend hitting .600 vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Houston and Missouri. Defensively, he threw out 2 more base runners this past weekend, and back picked one as well. His efforts this weekend put him on the All-Tournament Team. Illinois went 1-2 on the weekend in this Classic.
Jesse Forestell, Western Michigan
He had a hit in every game this past week, going 8 for 17 hitting .471 with a double and 2 RBI’s. His offensive outburst helped the Broncos to get back on track and go 2-2 this week vs. Grace College and East Tennessee State.
Ryan Fish, Jefferson CC
He had a hit in every single game this past weekend vs. Eastern Oklahoma State CC, with two of the games being multi-hit performances. He added a home run and a double along with 2 RBI’s to his stat line. This effort helped his team take 2 of 3 from Eastern Oklahoma State.
Dalton Parker, Purdue
He got his 1st collegiate save this past weekend vs. Arkansas-Little Rock going 3.2 innings of relief giving up only 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and striking out 4. In his two appearances as a Freshman this year, he has went a total of 8.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 6. Opponent’s batting average vs. him is .115. He has gained a win and a save in these two appearances.
Nick Menken, Iowa Western CC
He went 6 for 14 this past week hitting .429 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 2 RBI’s and gaining 4 walks. His explosive weekend helped them split with Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and take 3 of 4 from Crowder.
Michael Schalasky, Indianapolis
He got the win in relief this past weekend vs. Missouri-St. Louis going 6.1 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits, 2 walks while striking out 8.
Travis Upp, IPFW
He had a pinch hit 2-run home run vs. Chicago State and also went 2 for 4 vs. NJIT with 2 more RBI’s this past weekend. IPFW only went 1-3 on the weekend but he continues to stay hot hitting .583 on the 1st two weekends of his collegiate career, with a double, 2 home runs, and 7 RBI’s on his stat sheet.
Ben Browdy, Wash U
He continued right off from last year’s stellar campaign going 7 for 13 on opening weekend hitting an unbelievable .538 with 4 doubles and 7 RBI’s. He was named UAA Athlete of the week for his performance.
Brad Margolin, Wash U
He also started off much like last season ended, with lots of wipe out performances on the mound. He went 7 innings to get the win vs. North Park this past weekend, giving up 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 6. This also helped garner him as UAA Athlete of the week for his performance.
Jonathan Chudacoff, Dickinson
He won Centennial Conference Player of the Week after hitting .444 over two games vs. Oneonta State, helping Dickinson to win both games. In his 4 for 9 performance he collected a pair of home runs and 6 RBI’s. Dickinson is 2-0 on the year.
Peyton Isaacson, Coastal Carolina
He went 7 for 18 this past week and helped Coastal get back to a 4-5 record overall. This .389 performance helped him get in the lineup as the DH in all there games this past week.
Cooper Johnson, Ole Miss
He continues to stay hot for one of the top teams in the country both offensively and defensively. He threw out another handful of base stealers this past weekend and had a hit in every game he played in vs. ranked opponent UNCW. He was 3 for 8 hitting .375 with 2 walks and 2 RBI’s on the weekend. With the sweep over UNCW, Ole Miss is now 7-0 on the year and climbing up the national polls.
Danny Mayer, Pacific
He continues to blast baseballs into the trees as he adds another home run to his resume this past weekend. He went 3 for 8 hitting .375 with 4 RBI’s as they swept Cal Poly on the weekend to improve to 4-2 on the year.
Louis Niemerg, Maryville
He had a great weekend both on the mound and hitting. On the mound, he got the win going 5 innings giving up 2 earned runs off 7 hits, 1 walk while striking out 6. He also had a hit in all three games he played in hitting .333 with 3 RBI’s. His combined effort both offensively and on the mound helped Maryville sweep Saginaw Valley State to move to 6-5 overall.
Connor Riley, USC-Aiken
He got a no-decision in his start this past weekend, but put up a good effort going 6 innings, giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, with 2 walks while striking out 7. USC-Aiken is 12-2 on the year.
Brett Shimanovsky, Saint Louis
He got 1 inning of relief work vs. Michigan this past weekend giving up 0 runs on 0 hits, 0 walks while striking out 2. Saint Louis is 6-1 overall this year.
Mike Kruse, Benedictine College (KS)
He got his 1st collegiate win in relief vs. Morningside going 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1. Benedictine is 5-8 on the year overall in NAIA play.
Michael Oh, Northern Iowa Area CCHe got his 1st collegiate start this past weekend vs. Kansas City CC getting a no-decision in his 5.2 innings of work. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits, 0 walks while striking out 4. They lost 3 of 4 on the weekend.
Mitch Vogrin, Illinois State
He got 3.2 innings of relief work in vs. Memphis this past weekend giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits, 3 walks while striking out 5.
Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
He got 1.1 innings of relief work vs. Southwestern giving up 0 runs on one hit, 0 walks while striking out 1. Concordia is 2-2 to start the season.
Luke Bechina, St. Ambrose

He got his 1st collegiate relief appearance going 1 inning giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk vs. Tennessee Tech this past weekend. Bradley lost 2 of 3 vs. Tennessee Tech.
Robbie McGaha, Olney Central CC
He got his 1st collegiate hit last week vs. Union College along with collecting an RBI.
