Week #10: Division I College Baseball, Top Tier Alumni Roundup:



Player of the Week:

Dakota Kotowski,
OF, Missouri State

Kotowski earned Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors for being a one man wrecking crew at the plate this past week. Kotowski went 6 for 15 on the week, hitting .400 blasting 4 homers, a double and collecting 9 RBI's. Missouri State lost to Missouri in the midweek game but swept Valpo to improve to 17-18 overall and 3-6 in the MVC. Kotowski has 18 home runs on the year and is in 4th place in the Division 1 home run race only 3 behind the leader.

Jeremy Gaines
, Texas Southern

Gaines went on an absolute tear at the plate this past week as he hit a sizzling .571 after going 12 for 21 with 3 homers, two double and collected 9 RBI's. Texas Southern lost to Kansas twice in the midweek games but won 2 of 3 vs. Southern over the weekend to improve to 18-20 overall and 9-9 in the SWAC. 

Danny Doligale, Illinois

Doligale was very impressive again this past week as he went 8 for 15, hitting .533 with a homer, a double and an RBI. Illinois lost to Indiana State in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 vs. #24 ranked Maryland over the weekend to fall to 20-17 overall and 11-4 in the Big Ten. 

Keaton Rice, Bradley

Rice had one of his best games offensively this past week as he went 6 for 15, hitting .400 with a homer, 3 doubles and collected 6 RBI's. Bradley lost to Iowa in the midweek game but won 2 of 3 vs. Illinois State this past weekend to move to 13-20 overall and 5-4 in the MVC. 

Blake Wright, Clemson

Wright is having a unbelievable April for the Tigers this season as he continues to hit game after game. Wright went 7 for 21 this past week, hitting .333 with 2 homers, 3 doubles and collected 9 RBI's as the Tigers beat Georgia and East Tennessee State in the midweek games and took 2 of 3 vs. 9th ranked Florida State over the weekend to improve to 26-14 overall and 6-11 in the ACC. 

Ray Sass, Brown

Sass swung the bat really well this past weekend vs. Penn where he went 6 for 15, hitting .400 with two doubles. However, it was not enough as they got swept by Penn and fell to 8-22 overall on the year. 

Scott Youngbrandt, Saint Louis

Youngbrandt continues his dominance on the mound as he collected another win in his start in the finale vs. St. Bonaventure this weekend. Youngbrandt moved to 6-1 with the win after tossing 5 scoreless innings giving up only 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Saint Louis lost to Northwestern in the midweek game but swept St. Bonaventure over the weekend to improve to 21-16 overall and 8-4 in the A-10. 

Ryan Howe, Purdue

Howe finally got back into the lineup for the Boilermakers this past week and made his mark going 5 for 10, hitting .500 with a double and 2 RBI's. Purdue however lost to UIC in the midweek game and got swept by Belmont over the weekend to slip to 22-13 overall and 4-6 in the Big Ten. 

Hunter Mink, South Florida

Mink made three relief appearances this past week, picking up saves in two of them to give him 8 saves on the year for the Bulls. Mink threw a total of 3 innings giving up only 1 run off 1 hit and 3 walks while striking out 5. South Florida beat Florida A&M in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Cincinnati over the weekend to improve to 23-17 overall and 4-8 in the AAC. 

Andrew Wilhite, Minnesota

Wilhite had a really good week hitting for the Gophers this past week as he went 5 for 14, hitting .357 with a homer, a double and an RBI. Minnesota however continues to struggle as the lost to St. Thomas in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 to Penn State over the weekend to fall to 11-26 overall and 2-10 in the Big Ten. 

Ryan Thiesse, Fordham

Thiesse had a really good week for the Rams as he went 4 for 6, hitting .667 with 3 RBI's in limited action. The Rams however struggled and lost to Fairfield in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 to George Mason to fall to 9-27 overall and 4-8 in the A-10. 

Sean Sinisko, Illinois State

Sinisko threw really well this past week in the midweek game vs. Milwaukee where he he earned a no-decision but tossed 5.1 innings giving up only 1 run off 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. ISU beat Milwaukee in the midweek game but lost 2 of 3 to Bradley over the weekend to move to 15-19 overall and 3-6 in the MVC.

Stephen Hill, Liberty

Hill went 5 for 16, hitting .313 this past week with 5 RBI's as the Flames beat Duke in the midweek game and swept North Florida to improve to 26-12 overall and 12-6 in the A-SUN.

Gavin Doyle, Western Michigan

Doyle collected a hit in every game this past week going 6 for 18, hitting .333 with a homer, two doubles and 3 RBI's. Western Michigan beat Ball State in the midweek game but lost 3 of 4 to Bowling Green to fall to 13-24 overall and 10-13 in the MAC.

Marc DeGusipe, FAU

DeGusipe threw well in his two appearances this past week for the Owls. In total he threw 2.1 innings giving up 0 runs off only 1 hit and 1 walk. FAU lost to Florida Gulf Coast in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 to Old Dominion over the weekend to fall to 25-16 overall and 11-7 in the C-USA. 

Nick Ficarrotta, Florida

Ficarrotta made two relief appearances this past week picking up a win in one of them. In total Ficarrotta threw 5.1 innings giving up only 2 runs off 4 hits and 0 walks while striking out 7. Florida beat Stetson in the midweek game but got swept by the #1 team in the nation, Tennessee over the weekend to fall to 23-17 overall and 6-12 in the SEC.

Jacob Rosenkranz, Valpo

Rosenkranz made two relief appearances this past week tossing a total 2 scoreless innings giving up only 1 hit and 0 walks while striking out 3. Valpo lost to 18th ranked Notre Dame in the midweek game and got swept by Missouri State over the weekend to fall to 13-22 overall and 2-7 in the MVC.

Joe Shapiro, Western Michigan

Shapiro picked up his 1st win and 2nd win of his collegiate career this past week in relief vs. Ball State and Bowling Green. In total he threw 6.2 innings of relief giving up 5 runs off 11 hits and 6 walks while striking out 7. The Broncos beat Ball State in the midweek game only to lose 3 of 4 to Bowling Green over the weekend to fall to 13-24 overall and 10-13 in the MAC.

Tony Livermore, Northwestern

Livermore collected a hit in every game this past week with a double and 2 RBI's. The Wildcats beat Saint Louis in the midweek game and won 2 of 3 vs. Michigan State over the weekend to improve to 18-17 overall and 6-6 in the Big Ten.

Bryce Barnett, Xavier

Barnett made two relief appearances this past week, throwing a total of 4.2 innings giving up 2 runs off 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Xavier lost to Eastern Kentucky in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Georgetown over the weekend to improve to 21-20 overall and 5-4 in the Big East. 

Michael Oh, Charlotte

Oh made one relief appearance this past week tossing a scoreless inning as Charlotte beat Coastal Carolina in the midweek game and swept UAB over the weekend. Charlotte is now 23-16 overall and 8-10 in C-USA.

Kevin Davis, USC-Upstate

Davis made two relief appearances this past weekend, earning a win in one of those appearances. In total, Davis threw 5 innings giving up 2 runs off 2 hits and 4 walks while striking out 7. The Spartans lost to College of Charleston and beat Gardner-Webb in the midweek games and swept North Carolina A&T over the weekend to improve to 25-16 overall and 13-5 in the Big South. 

Tanner Mink, South Florida

Mink made one relief appearance this past week going 1.2 scoreless innings giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk. South Florida won 2 of 3 vs. Cincinnati to improve to 23-17 overall and 48 in the AAC.

Mason Miller, Florida Gulf Coast

Miller made one relief appearance this past week tossing one scoreless inning vs. Stetson giving up a hit while striking out one. FGCU beat FAU in the midweek game and swept Stetson over the weekend to improve to 26-14 overall and 11-7 in the A-SUN. 

Chase Centala, UCF

Centala made one relief appearance vs. Wichita State this past week where he picked up the win going 4.2 innings giving up 3 earned runs off 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5. UCF lost to Jacksonville in the midweek game but swept Wichita State over the weekend to improve to 24-16 overall and 8-4 in the AAC.

Renzo Gonzalez, Miami

Gonzalez hit his 1st collegiate home run this past weekend in a pinch-hit at bat vs. Pittsburgh. Miami who is ranked 5th in the nation beat Bethune-Cookman in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Pittsburgh over the weekend to improve to 31-9 overall and 16-5 in the ACC.

Cam Redding, Saint Louis

Redding collected 3 hits and an RBI this past week for the Billikens who swept St. Bonaventure to move to 21-16 overall and 8-4 in the A-10.

Kellen Sarver, Illinois

Sarver collected 3 hits with a homer and 3 RBI's this past week as Illinois lost 2 of 3 to Maryland this past weekend to fall to 20-17 overall and 11-4 in the Big Ten.
