Major League Baseball Performance in Week #3:

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals

Roark got one start this past week vs. the New York Mets getting a No-Decision in his 6.2 innings pitched. In his outing he gave up 3 earned runs on 7 hits, 3 walks while striking out 5. On the year he has a 3.65 ERA and has helped the Nationals to the Top of the NL East with a 13-6 overall record.

Minor League Baseball Performances in Week #3:

Rob Scahill, Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple A, Brewers)

Scahill made two appearances in relief this past week. In his 1st outing vs. the Memphis Redbirds he went 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1. In his 2nd outing of the week vs. the Nashville Sounds he got the save tossing 0.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit. This was Scahill’s 3rd save on the year, and he has a 1.17 ERA currently.

Karch Kowalczyk, Tulsa Drillers (Double A, Dodgers)
Kowalczyk made two appearances in relief this past week. In his 1st outing vs. Frisco RoughRiders he went 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 3. In his 2nd outing of the week vs. Northwest Arkansas Naturals he went 2.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 4 hits, 1 walk while striking out 2. On the year, he has a 1.08 ERA.

Jeremy Rhoades, Inland Empire 66ers (High A, Angels)
Rhoades made two appearances this past week in relief. In his 1st outing vs. Lake Elsinore Storm going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 1 walk while striking out 1. In his 2nd outing of the week vs. Rancho Cucamonga Quakes he went 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 1. He now has a 5.40 ERA on the year.

Paul DeJong, Memphis Redbirds (Triple A, Cardinals)
DeJong collected 6 hits this past week playing mostly shortstop and 3B. He is hitting .222 on the year in Triple A.

Kyle Hunter, Arkansas Travelers (Double A, Mariners)
Hunter made two appearances in relief this past week. In his 1st outing he went 1.2 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 3. In his 2nd outing of the week he went  1 more inning vs. the Springfield Cardinals giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1. On the year, he has a 4.66 ERA.

Ryan Borucki, Dunedin Blue Jays (High A, Blue Jays)
Borucki got another No-Decision on his start vs. the St. Lucie Mets going 5.1 innings, giving up 5 earned runs on 6 hits, 3 walks while striking out 8.

Tyler Ladendorf, Charlotte Knights (Triple A, White Sox)
Ladendorf collected 3 more hits this past week playing mostly shortstop and DH. He is hitting .206 on the year.

Jason Goldstein, Beloit Snappers (Low A, Athletics)
Goldstein made 4 starts behind the plate this past week, collecting 4 more hits and moving his average up to .241 on the year.

Week #10 Top Tier Alumni Roundup: Top Performances in College Baseball

Brad Margolin, Wash U

Margolin continues to impress the D3 world as he tossed his 3rd consecutive complete-game shutout vs. Brandeis this past weekend. He allowed just 2 hits while striking out 3 in the 1-0 win vs. his UAA opponent. Margolin has improved to 7-0 on the year, has moved to the 6th All-Time in career wins in Wash U history with 21. He earned Pitcher of the Week in the UAA, which is his 4th time just this year and 7th time in his career. Wash U improves to 30-8 on the year and continue to rise up the D3 rankings.

Hank Christie, Northwestern
Christie got the win this past weekend vs. Penn State going 6.2 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 5 hits, 1 walk while striking out 4. He helped the Wildcats take 2 of 3 vs. Penn State.

Cal Coughlin, TCU
Coughlin continues to get late innings of relief work for the #6 ranked team in the nation. He made two appearances this past week going 2.1 innings in total giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 2. The Horned Frogs took 2 of 3 from Baylor this past weekend to move them to 30-8 overall and 11-4 in the Big XII. Coughlin has a 0.93 ERA on the year.

Matt Sullivan, Chicago State
Sullivan had an explosive week at the plate as he went 7 for 15, hitting .467 with a homerun, a double and 3 RBI’s. However, Chicago State loss the mid-week vs. Valpo and lost 2 of 3 vs. Utah Valley this past week.

Trey Schramm, Xavier
Schramm made two relief appearances this past week. In his 1st appearance vs. Cincinnati he helped them get a win by going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 2. In his second appearance vs. Butler on the weekend he got the win going 3 innings of relief giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. Xavier beat Cincinnati and lost to Miami (OH) in the mid-week and they swept Butler on the weekend.

Collin Clayton, John A. Logan CC
Clayton had a huge week offensively as he went 7 for 15 hitting .467. He helped the Vols win all 4 games they played in this past week. John A. Logan is now 32-10 on the year and 15-4 in the conference.

Zack Wade, DePauw
Wade collected a hit in every game he played in this past week. He went 6 for 12 hitting .500 and helping his Tigers improve to 26-7 overall.

Sam Cottingham-Beard, Western Illinois
Cottingham-Beard made one relief appearance this past weekend getting a huge save going 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. The Leathernecks took 2 of 3 from IPFW on the weekend.

Gunnar Haskins, Blackhawk CC
Haskins had a big day at the plate this past week going 6 for 16 hitting .375 with a homerun, a double and 8 RBI’s.

Matt Fallon, Xavier
Fallon had a good week offensively, going 6 for 17 hitting .353 with a double and 4 RBI’s. Xavier swept Butler on the weekend.

Ben Dickey, Northwestern
Dickey went 4 for 10 hitting .400 this past week, helping the Wildcats to beat UW-Milwaukee in the mid-week and help them take 2 of 3 from Penn State.

Roger Wilson, Blackhawk CC
Wilson improved to 5-0 on the year, getting another win vs. Illinois Valley CC. Wilson went 6 innings in his start giving up only 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 3.

Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
Musielak got a complete-game win vs. Rockford going all 9 innings giving up only 2 runs on 9 hits while striking out 4. Concordia-Chicago improved to 22-11 on the year and 14-2 in the conference.

Danny Mayer, Pacific
Mayer got back on track at the plate this past week going 5 for 16 hitting .313. Of those 5 hits, one was another home run, bringing him to 8 on the year. Pacific however lost all 3 games on the weekend vs. St. Mary’s.

Neil Lambert, Triton CC
Lambert went 9 for 28 this past week hitting .321 with a homerun and 4 doubles. Triton won 7 of 8 games played in this past week, helping Triton improve to 24-17 on the year. Lambert in hitting .371 on the year.

Will Kincanon, Indiana State
Kincanon took the loss this past weekend vs. Dallas Baptist but threw well in his 6 innings of work. He only allowed 1 run on 6 hits, 2 walks while striking out 7. Indiana State lost all 3 games vs. Dallas Baptist on the weekend.

Kevin Coppin, Concordia-Chicago
Coppin went 5 for 14 hitting .357 as they won 5 out of the 6 games they played in this past week.

Sean Hjelle, Kentucky
Hjelle got the win this past weekend vs. LSU to improve him to 6-2 on the year. His his start vs. LSU, he went 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits, 5 walks while striking out 3. Kentucky beat Louisville in the mid-week and took 2 of 3 from LSU on the weekend. The Wildcats are now 28-13 overall and 12-6 in the SEC.

Eric Giltz, SIUE
Giltz had a hit all 4 games he played in this past weekend going 4 for 12 hitting .333. However, SIUE lost all 3 games vs. UT-Martin.

Brett Shimanovsky, Saint Louis
Shimanovsky pitched 5 innings of relief vs. Dayton over the weekend giving up 0 earned runs on 3 hits while striking out 6. Saint Louis took 2 of 3 from Dayton on the weekend.

Michael Kruse, Benedictine (KS)
Kruse got the win over the weekend vs. Auila tossing 8 innings giving up only 2 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1. Benedictine split with Auila on the weekend and improved to 30-19 on the year and 19-9 in conference.

Brady Huffman, Illinois State
Huffman got the win over the weekend vs. Bradley going 5.1 innings giving up up only 2 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks while striking out 7. Huffman moves to 3-2 on the year.

Ryan Hodgett, Bradley
Hodgett made a relief appearance this past week going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits, 2 walks while striking out 3. Bradley beat Iowa in their mid-week game and took 2 of 3 from Illinois State on the weekend.

Chris Myjak, Butler
Myjak got a 1 inning save vs. Indiana in the mid-week game giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1.

Brett Newberg, Austin Peay
Newberg went 2 for 6 in two games this past week, adding a home run to his power numbers. Austin Peay split with Morehead State on the weekend and beat Western Kentucky in the mid-week.

Michael Sebby, Illinois State
Sebby got 1 inning of relief work in vs. Notre Dame in their mid-week game giving up 0 runs on 0 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1.

Tyler Lass, Northwestern
Lass made two appearances this past week in relief getting a win in one of those appearances. He went a total of 1.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 1 walk while striking out 1.

Cooper Johnson, Mississippi
Johnson started all 4 games this past week for the Rebels behind the dish. He collected 2 hits on the week and helped the Rebels beat Arkansas Pine-Bluff in the mid-week and helped them take 2 of 3 from Missouri on the weekend. The Rebels improved to 25-15 on the year.

Dalton Parker, Purdue
Parker made two appearances this past week in relief. In his 1st appearance he didn’t fair well as he threw 3.2 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks while striking out 5 as they lost to Ball State. In his 2nd appearance he earned a  save going 5 innings giving up only 1 run on 4 hits, 1 walk while striking out 3. Parker has 5 saves on the year as they swept Illinois on the weekend. Purdue is now 22-18 on the year and 9-6 in the Big Ten.

Marty Napleton, Saint Joseph’s (IN)
Napleton went 4 for 12 on the weekend hitting. They won all 3 games they played in this past weekend and moved to 29-13 overall.

Joe Santoro, Army
Santoro got the win during the mid-week game vs. NYIT tossing 2.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 4. He didn’t do as well in his 2nd appearance during the weekend vs. Navy as he went 1 inning giving up 3 runs on 3 hits while striking out 2.

Anthony Rios, Lewis
Rios collected 4 hits this past weekend helping them get two wins vs. Quincy and earning a split vs. Southern Indiana. Rios had a homerun and 5 RBI’s on the week.

Jacob Nagel, Bellarmine
Nagel got the start this past weekend vs. #12 UIndy getting a No-Decision but tossing a solid 5.1 innings only giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, 4 walks while striking out 1. Bellarmine took all four games from UIndy to improve to 27-15 overall and 14-6 in the conference.

Luke Johnson, Bucknell
Johnson collected 4 hits on the weekend, 2 of which were home runs and he had 5 RBI’s. However, the Bison lost 3 of 4 vs. Holy Cross.

Frankie Perrone, Eastern Illinois
Perrone got three hits this past weekend, two of them were home runs and he collected 5 RBI’s to help them sweep Eastern Kentucky over the weekend.

Justin Kelly, Wayne State
Kelly collected 4 hits this past weekend, two were home runs, one was a double and he had 4 RBI’s to help Wayne State take 3 of 4 from Saginaw Valley.

Peyton Isaacson, Coastal Carolina
Isaacson collected 3 hits and 3 RBI’s this past weekend but they lost 2 of 3 to Georgia Southern. Coastal is 24-15-1 overall and 11-6-1 in the conference.

Jesse Forestell, Western Michigan
Forestell collected 4 hits this past weekend with two doubles and helped the Broncos take 2 of 3 from Eastern Michigan this past weekend.
