Major League Baseball Top Performances in Week #5:
Tanner Roark (Class of 2005), Washington Nationals
Roark got two starts this past week. In his 1st outing earlier in the week he took the loss vs. Arizona, going 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks while striking out 8. In his second outing on the weekend he got a No-Decision on his start but pitched well vs. the Phillies going 6 innings giving up 0 earned runs on just 2 hits, 3 walks while striking out 5. On the year, he has a 3.46 ERA. The Nationals still remain on top of the NL East.
Rob Scahill (Class of 2005), Milwaukee Brewers
Scahill made one relief appearance this past week vs. Pittsburgh going 2 innings. In those 2 innings he gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1.
Minor League Baseball Top Performances in Week #5:
Tyler Ladendorf (Class of 2006), Charlotte Knights (Triple A, White Sox)
Ladendorf had a great week at the plate going 5 for 13, hitting .387. On the year he is hitting .294 and is said to be one of the next of many young talented players on the minor league roster to have a chance to get called up to the Big League team this year.
Kyle Hunter (Class of 2008), Tacoma Rainiers (Triple A, Mariners)
Hunter made two appearances this past week. One with the Double A team, where he went 1.2 innings of relief giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 2. After his outing he got called up to the Triple A team, Tacoma Rainiers where he made another relief appearance going 2 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1.
Paul DeJong (Class of 2011), Memphis Redbirds (Triple A, Cardinals)
DeJong had another good week offensively getting a hit 5 of the 6 games he played in. He went 6 for 23, hitting .261 on the week with a homerun, a double and collecting 8 RBI’s. DeJong is hitting .270 on the year so far in Triple A.
Karch Kowalczyk (Class of 2009), Tulsa Drillers (Double A, Dodgers)
Kowalczyk made 2 relief appearances this past week. In his 1st outing of the week he picked up the win going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 2. In his 2nd outing of the week he went another inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits, 1 walk while striking out 2. On the year, he has 1.76 ERA.
Ryan Borucki (Class of 2012), Dunedin Blue Jays (High A, Blue Jays)
Borucki made 2 starts this past week. His 1st one was the best of year as he went 3.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out a staggering 8. He is 2nd start of the week he went 2.2 innings giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits, 1 walk while striking out 3. He has a 5.26 ERA on the year.
Mike Martin (Class of 2011), Beloit Snappers (Low A, Athletics)
Martin got back on track offensively after coming off the Disabled List going 4 for 15, hitting .267 on the week. He is now hitting .261 on the year.
Jeremy Rhoades (Class of 2011), Inland Empire 66ers (High A, Angels)
Rhoades took the loss in his 1st outing this past week going 1.1 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 1. Then he turned around and picked up the win in relief in his 2nd outing of the week going 2.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 5. He has a 6.06 ERA on the year.
Jason Goldstein (Class of 2012), Beloit Snappers (Low A, Athletics)
Goldstein picked up 2 hits in 3 games this past week and is now hitting .263 on the year.

Cal Coughlin (Class of 2016), TCU
Coughlin made 2 relief appearances this past weekend vs. Texas. He picked up the win going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out all 3 batters faced. He threw another 0.1 innings in relief giving up 0 runs on 0 hits. On the year, he has a 2.08 ERA out of the bullpen for the #6 ranked team in the nation. TCU swept Texas on the weekend and improve to 35-11 overall and 15-6 in the Big XII.
Zach Lewis (Class of 2013), Wichita State
Lewis had a great outing helping his team get a much needed win vs. Dallas Baptist on the weekend. He went 7 innings giving up 0 runs on only 2 hits, 2 walks while striking out 4. They lost 2 of 3 vs. Dallas Baptist on the weekend and are now 22-25 overall and 7-8 in the Missouri Valley.
Connor Riley (Class of 2013), USC-Aiken
Riley continues to dominate as of late, picking up another win vs. Wingate, going 5 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 8. Riley on the year improved to 5-2 with a 3.79 ERA in 71.1 innings pitched while striking out 115 batters. USC-Aiken finished the regular season with a 38-11 overall record and 17-7 conference record.
Danny Mayer (Class of 2013), Pacific
Mayer went 6 for 14, hitting .429 this past weekend with another home run and 6 RBI’s. Pacific however lost all 4 games to Florida State this past weekend. On the year, he is hitting .239 with 10 bombs, 27 RBI’s and a slugging % of .458.
Justin Kelly (Class of 2015), Wayne State
Kelly collected a hit in every game this past weekend going 4 for 8, hitting .500 with a pair of home runs and 4 RBI’s. Wayne State beat Lawrence Tech and split with Walsh over the weekend. Wayne State sits at 31-17 overall on the year and 20-10 in the GLIAC.
Eric Giltz (Class of 2015), SIUE
Giltz collected a hit in every game this past weekend going 4 for 9 hitting .444 with 4 RBI’s. SIUE swept Austin Peay over the weekend and improve to 20-25 overall and 11-15 in the Ohio Valley.
Hank Christie (Class of 2016), Northwestern
Christie threw a gem this past weekend vs. Purdue but got a No-Decision for his efforts going 8 innings strong giving up 0 earned runs on 6 hits, 1 walk while striking out 3. He has a 4.31 ERA on the year. Northwestern took 2 of 3 from Purdue on the weekend.
Will Kincanon (Class of 2014), Indiana State
Kincanon had another strong start this past weekend picking up the win vs. Illinois State and improving to 5-4 on the year. In his outing he went 7 innings giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk while striking out 10. Indiana State swept Illinois State over the weekend and improved to 24-20 overall and 10-5 in the Missouri Valley.
Brad Margolin (Class of 2013), Wash U
Margolin got yet another win, and continued his dominance on the mound to defeat Milkin and improve his record to 8-0 on the year. He threw 7 innings giving up only 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 7. Margolin has 1.93 ERA, has thrown 5 complete games and in 65.1 innings has 54 strikeouts. Wash U is now 22-8 overall and 8-2 in the conference.
Austin Covers (Class of 2014), Heartland CC
Covers got the win this past weekend vs. Danville Area CC, going 7 innings giving up 1 earned run on 7 hits, 3 walks while striking out 4. He improved to 3-2 on the year with a 2.06 ERA. Heartland is 32-15 overall and 16-12 in the conference.
Jack Landwehr (Class of 2012), Illinois State
Landwehr made 2 appearances in relief this past week. He threw 1 inning of relief vs. Milwaukee to help preserve the win by giving up 0 runs on 0 hits. He also threw 3.2 innings of relief vs. Indiana State giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 5. However, they got swept in all three games vs. Indiana State this past weekend.
Brian Musielak (Class of 2014), Concordia-Chicago
Musielak got the win in relief vs. Lakeland this past weekend tossing 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 2 walks while striking out 5. Concordia-Chicago beat Lakeland twice this past weekend to improve to 26-11 overall and 18-2 in the conference. Musielak has 4 saves on the year and has a 2.30 ERA.
Tyler Lass (Class of 2015), Northwestern
Lass had two good relief appearances this past week, the first came in the midweek game vs. Notre Dame where he threw 1 inning of scoreless baseball on 1 hit. He got the win in relief in his second outing on the weekend vs. Purdue going 2.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 1 walk while striking out 1. Lass improved to 2-0 on the year with a 4.24 ERA.
Nick Menken (Class of 2015), Iowa Western CC
Menken went 4 for 11, hitting .364 this past week with two doubles and 7 RBI’s. He is currently hitting .308 on the year and his team went 7-1 this past week to improve to 42-14 and 21-3 in the conference.
Sean Hjelle (Class of 2015), Kentucky
Hjelle got a No-Decision this past weekend for his efforts but pitched well against SEC rival Georgia. In his outing he went 6.2 innings strong giving up only 1 run on 4 hits, 4 walks while striking out 7. Kentucky lost 2 of 3 vs. Georgia this past weekend are now 32-16 and 15-9 in the SEC. Hjelle is 7-2 on the year with a 3.46 ERA.
Michael Costanzo (Class of 2014), Austin Peay
Constanzo made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. SIUE going 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 4. Austin Peay lost all 3 games vs. SIUE this weekend and dropped to 20-25 overall and 11-15 in the Ohio Valley.
Travis Upp (Class of 2016), IPFW
Upp went 3 for 8, hitting .375 on the weekend with a double and 2 RBI’s as IPFW lost 2 of 3 to Omaha-Nebraska.
Neil Lambert (Class of 2015), Triton CC
Lambert went 5 for 14, hitting .357 on the week with a homerun, a double and 3 RBI’s. He is currently hitting .381 on the year with a .571 slugging %.
Colin Clayton (Class of 2016), John A. Logan CC
Clayton went 6 for 18, hitting .333 this past week with 3 doubles and 3 RBI’s to help Logan take 2 of 3 vs. Rend Lake, and two from Olney Central. On the year, he is hitting .292 and has helped the Vols to a 39-11 overall record and 22-5 in conference.
Ben Browdy (Class of 2013), Wash U
Browdy went 3 for 9, hitting .333 to help Wash U take both games vs. Milkin this past weekend. On the year, he is hitting .379 with a .581 slugging %.
Zach Taylor (Class of 2015), Triton CC
Taylor went 3 for 10, hitting .300 this past week. He is currently hitting .253 on the year with 5 homeruns.
Gunnar Haskins (Class of 2015), Blackhawk CC
Haskins collected 8 hits on the week, 3 home runs, a triple, a double and 13 RBI’s. Blackhawk went 8-2 this past week and improved to 34-8 on the year and 15-3 in the conference. Haskins is hitting .330 on the year with 6 home runs, 31 RBI’s and a .638 slugging %.
Joe Santoro (Class of 2016), Army
Santoro made one appearance in relief vs. Villanova this past week going 1.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 1 walk while striking out 1. Army is 25-29 overall and 10-10 in the Patriot League and will move on to play Holy Cross in the Semi-Finals of the Patriot League Championships.
Roger Wilson (Class of 2014), Blackhawk CC
Wilson got the win this past week vs. Morton going 5 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 9. He improved to 6-0 on the year with a 1.13 ERA in 32 innings of work.
Quinn Snarskis (Class of 2015), Saint Joseph’s College (IN)
Snarskis took the loss vs. Southern Indiana this past weekend going 7 innings giving up only 2 earned runs on 9 hits, 2 walks while striking out 3. He is pitching at a 3.84 ERA on the year and the Pumas finished at 32-18 overall with a 14-14 conference record.
Chris Myjak (Class of 2012), Butler
Myjak got the win vs. Miami (OH) in the midweek going 1 inning giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1. He then went 2.1 innings vs. Villanova giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 2 walks while striking out 1. Butler took 2 of 3 from Villanova on the weekend and improved to 27-17 overall and 4-8 in the Big East. He has 2.70 ERA on the year with 8 saves.
Jacob Nagel (Class of 2016), Bellarmine
Nagel took the loss vs. UW-Parkside this past weekend but pitched well going 5 innings giving up only 1 run on 7 hits, 4 walks while striking out 2. They split with UW-Parkside and finished 33-17 overall and 20-8 in the conference.
Ryan Hodgett (Class of 2016), Bradley
Hodgett got 1 inning of relief vs. Evansville giving up 0 runs on 0 hits with 1 walk. Bradley lost 2 of 3 vs. Evansville.
Anthony Rios (Class of 2016), Lewis
Rios went 4 for 12, hitting .333 as they swept McKendree on the weekend. Lewis finished 16-34 on the year, and Rios hit .214 on the year as a freshman.
Martin Napleton (Class of 2013), Saint Joseph’s College (IN)
Napleton collected 6 hits this past week with a homerun, a double and 3 RBI’s. He finished the year with .311 average.
Louis Niemerg (Class of 2015), Maryville
Niemerg got the save in relief vs. Missouri S&T going 1.2 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit. Maryville finished 25-25 on the year.
Frankie Perrone (Class of 2014), Eastern Illinois
Perrone collected 3 hits this past weekend, with a homerun, a double and 5 RBI’s. They lost 2 of 3 vs. UT-Martin on the weekend and are now 17-31 overall and 10-14 in the Ohio Valley. Perrone is hitting .250 on the year with 9 home runs.
Peyton Isaacson (Class of 2015), Coastal Carolina
Isaacson collected 3 hits this past weekend vs. Louisiana-Monroe with a double and 2 RBI’s to help them get the serie sweep and improve to 30-16-1 overall and 14-7-1 in the conference.
Jesse Forestell (Class of 2015), Western Michigan
Forestell had a hit in every game this past weekend, even though his Broncos lost 2 of 3 vs. Southeast Missouri State. The Broncos are 19-22 overall and 8-10 in the MAC.
Cooper Johnson (Class of 2016), Mississippi
Johnson collected 3 hits during the week, as Ole Miss won two games in the midweek vs. UL-Monroe and got swept by Florida on the weekend.
Kolton Rominski (Class of 2016), Hillsdale
Rominski got the win in his start this past weekend vs. Lake Erie going 7 innings giving up 5 runs on 10 hits, 3 walks while striking out 1. The win moved Kolton to 3-4 on the year, Hillsdale took 3 of 4 from Lake Erie on the weekend and improved them to 24-24 overall on the year.
Zach Wade (Class of 2013), DePauw
Wade collected 4 hits on the weekend with a double and 2 RBI’s to help the Tigers take 2 of 3 from Kenyon and split with Wabash. DePauw improved to 29-9 overall and 12-5 in the conference.
Anthony Drago (Class of 2013), Illinois
Drago went 1 for 1, with a double in his pinch hit role vs. Maryland this weekend, which helped the Fighting Illini take 2 of 3 against the #24 ranked team in the nation and improve them to 21-24 overall and 7-11 in the Big Ten.
