Week #12 for NCAA Division II and III, NAIA & JUCO: Top Tier Alumni Roundup

Here are the highlights from Week #12 in college baseball at the D2/D3, NAIA and JUCO level by our Top Tier Alums:

Top Tier Alumni Player of the Week:

Conner Tomasic
, RHP/INF, South Suburban (JUCO)

Tomasic earned MVP honors in the Region IV Tournament this past weekend. Tomasic went 5 for 9, hitting .556 with a triple, 2 doubles and 4 RBI's. He also earned a win on the mound going 7 innings giving up 3 runs off 10 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8. South Suburban beat Triton twice and Kishwaukee to win the Region IV 1st round of playoffs. South Suburban is 41-17 overall and take on Wabash Valley in the next round of the JUCO playoffs this weekend. 

Best of the Rest in College Baseball (D2/D3/NAIA/JUCO)

Brian Lyle
, INF, University of Chicago (D3)

Lyle finished his career of with a bang, going 9 for 17, hitting .530 with 7 RBI's vs. Beloit to finish off the regular season 19-10 overall. University of Chicago swept Beloit and Lyle finished the year hitting .375 with 4 doubles, 2 homers and 25 RBI's. 

Colin Summerhill, C/OF, Triton (JUCO)

Summerhill collected 8 hits with a homer in the Region IV Tournament this past week. Triton beat Kishwaukee and lost to South Suburban twice to finish the year 24-14 overall. Summerhill finished the year hitting .460 with 9 homers. 

Austin Divello, RHP, Coe (D3)

Divello made one relief appearance for his team who is ranked 13th in the nation vs. Luther College this past week. Divello went 4.1 innings giving up 0 runs off 3 hits and 2 walks. Coe took 3 of 4 from Luther and are moving onto the A-R-C Championship this upcoming weekend. Coe is 32-5 overall and Divello is 1-0 with 4 saves, an ERA of 2.10 in 14 appearances and 25.2 innings pitched this year. 

Anthony Rios, C, Lewis (D2)

Rios went 4 for 12, hitting .333 with a double and an RBI in the GLVC Tournament this past week. Lewis beat Rockhurst and lost to UIS and UIndy to finish the year 24-18 overall. Rios finished the year hitting .331 with 13 doubles, 3 homers and 28 RBI's. 

Mitch Owens, INF/OF, Augustana (D3)

Owens went 5 for 17, hitting .294 this past week with 2 homers and collecting 9 RBI's as they swept Elmhurst and beat Wheaton to move to 33-7 overall and are ranked 24th in the nation. Augustana starts the CCIW Tournament this weekend, and Owens is hitting .336 on the year with 13 doubles, 5 homers and 35 RBI's. 

Jack Lochner, OF, Lindenwood (D2)

Lochner went 3 for 7 with an RBI in the GLVC Tournament. Lindenwood who is ranked 11th in the nation beat 5th ranked UIS in the Championship to win the GLVC and earn a bid into the NCAA Division 2 Tournament. Lindenwood is 33-7 overall on the year and Lochner is hitting .232 as a freshman with a double and 11 RBI's. 

Tommy Duddleston, INF, UW-Stevens Point (D3)

Duddleston collected 4 hits with a triple and 5 RBI's this past week vs. UW-Platteville, UW-Stevens Point swept UW-Platteville and moved to 30-9 overall on the year. The WIAC Tournament starts this weekend and Duddleston is hitting .288 with 8 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and 26 RBI's. 

Andrew Padilla, RHP, Webster (D3)

Padilla got the start in the Pod 1 SLIAC Championship vs. Eureka where he threw a beautiful 4.2 innings giving up 0 earned runs off 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Webster beat Eureka and then Westminster twice to move onto the SLIAC Championship vs. Spaulding this weekend. Webster is ranked 2nd in the nation after a record of 33-6 overall and Padilla is 1-1 with one save, an ERA of 2.78 in 11 appearances in 22.2 innings of work. 

Jake Lotz, LHP, Lewis (D2)

Lotz made one relief appearance in the GLVC Tournament, going 2.1 innings giving up out 0 runs off 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 3. Lewis lost in the GLVC Tournament and finished the year 24-16 overall and Lotz finished 0-4 with 4 saves, an ERA of 6.10 in 20.2 innings with 34 strikeouts. 

Brandon Mahoney, 1B, Carthage (D3)

Mahoney finally got his chance this past week in the lineup for Carthage and he didn't disappoint as he went 4 for 9 with 4 RBI's. Carthage is 16-25 overall and they play Wheaton in the 1st round of the CCIW Tournament this weekend. 

Nick Baldassano, INF, Aurora (D3)

Baldassano went 1 for 4 with a double in his one start in the NACC Tournament. Aurora who is ranked 10th in the nation won the NACC Championship beating Rockford, IIT and Benedictine to get an automatic bid into the NCAA Division 3 Championships. Aurora is 35-6 overall on the year and Baldassano is hitting .263 with 7 doubles, 2 triples and 15 RBI's. 

Robert Chayka, OF, Kentucky Wesleyan (D2)

Chayka collected 2 hits with an RBI in the GMAC Tournament this past week. Kentucky Wesleyan beat Tiffin, then lost to Trevecca, beat Ohio Dominican then lost to Tiffin to end their Championship run. Kentucky Wesleyan finished the year 24-16 overall and Chayka hit .352 with 9 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and 16 RBI's. 

Connor Blake, INF, Illinois Institute of Technology (D3)

Blake collected 2 hits and 2 RBI's for IIT in the NACC Tournament this past week. IIT beat Benedictine then lost to Aurora and Benedictine to finish the year 19-10 overall. Blake finished the year hitting .375 with 11 doubles, 7 homers and 31 RBI's. 

Noah Manning, RHP, Iowa Western (JUCO)

Manning made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. Indian Hills in the Region IX Championship. He threw 0.2 innings giving up 1 run off 1 hit and 1 walk. Iowa Western got beat in the Championship by Indian Hills and finished the year 50-10 overall. Manning finished the year 1-1 with 3 saves, an ERA of 1.98 in 13.2 innings of work with 13 strikeouts. 

Khyle Radcliffe, OF, Allen County (JUCO)

Radcliffe got one hit this past week in the Region VI quarterfinals with a double and 4 RBI's. Allen County lost to Hutchinson to finish the year 32-19 overall and Radcliffe finished the year hitting .248 with 8 doubles, 4 homers and 17 RBI's.

Elias Kuhns, OF, Union (D3)

Kuhns collected one hit and an RBI in the Liberty Tournament where Union beat Ithaca and lost to Rochester to finish the year 12-8 overall. 

Dave Navarro, C, Illinois Institute of Technology (D3)

Navarro collected on hit in the NACC Tournament as IIT beat Benedictine and lost to Aurora and Benedictine to finish 19-10 overall. Navarro finished the year hitting .271 with 6 doubles, a homer and 18 RBI's. 

Brendan Holloway, OF, Oakton (JUCO)

Holloway collected one hit and an RBI in the Region 4 Tournament as Oakton beat Waubonsee, College of Dupage and Joliet to move onto the next round vs. Owens this weekend. Oakton is 30-17 overall  on the year and Holloway is hitting .292 with 3 doubles and 15 RBI's. 

Jimmy Carey, INF, St. Charles (JUCO)

Carey didn't get any hits in the playoffs as St. Charles lost twice to Jefferson and finished the year 21-21 overall. Carey finished the year hitting .333 with 4 doubles and 20 RBI's.

Brett Taucher, RHP, Quincy 

Taucher made one relief appearance for Quincy in the GLVC Tournament where he didn't fair well going 1.2 innings giving up 4 runs off 4 hits and 2 walks whiles striking out 2. Quincy beat Missouri S&T and lost to Southern Indiana twice to finish the year 28-13 overall. Taucher finished the year with a 5.59 ERA, one save in 19.1 innings of work and 22 strikeouts. 

Brock Bevil, RHP, Benedictine (D3)

Bevil didn't get into the NACC Tournament as Benedictine lost to Aurora in the NACC Championship and finished the year 29-13 overall. Bevil finished the year with a 4.76 ERA in 11.1 inning of work with 11 strikeouts. 

Luke Napleton, C, Quincy (D2)

Napleton didn't get into any games in the GLVC Tournament for Quincy this past week. Quincy beat Missouri S&T and lost to Southern Indiana to finish the year 28-13 overall. Napleton had some spot starts late in the year and finished hitting .400 with 4 doubles, a homer and 10 RBI's in only 15 at bats.
