Here are the highlights from Week #14 in college baseball at the D2/D3, NAIA and JUCO level by our Top Tier Alums:
Top Tier Alumni Player of the Week:
Nick Baldassano, INF, Aurora (D3)
Baldassano went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI vs. Trinity (TX) in the NCAA Division 3 Regional. Aurora beat Trinity (TX) but lost to St. Mary's and Misericordia to finish the year 38-8 overall. Baldassano finished the year hitting .279 with 8 doubles, 2 triples, a homer and 19 RBI's.
Best of the Rest in College Baseball (D2/D3/NAIA/JUCO)
Brendan Holloway, OF, Oakton (JUCO)
Holloway went 4 for 19 with a double and 3 RBI's in the Division 3 JUCO World Series. Oakton beat St. Cloud and Rockingham but lost to Coastal Bend and Niagara to finish the year 32-21 overall. Holloway hit .291 with 5 doubles, a triple and 20 RBI's with 13 stolen bases.
Ashton Schwab, LHP, Oakton (JUCO)
Schwab just came back from injury to pitch in the Division 3 JUCO World Series. Schwab threw 3.2 innings giving up 2 earned runs off 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Oakton finished the year 32-21 overall and Schwab finished the year 1-3 with a 3.38 ERA in 21.1 innings of work with 31 strikeouts.
Andrew Padilla, RHP, Webster (D3)
Padilla made one appearance in the NCAA Division 3 Regional vs. Denison where he went 4 innings giving up 3 runs off 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. Webster beat Transylvania twice but lost to Denison twice to finish the year 37-8 overall. Padilla finished the year with a 3.25 ERA in 13 appearances and 27.2 inning pitched with 26 strikeouts.
Broghan O'Connor, OF, Wash U (D3)
O'Connor made a couple appearances as a defensive replacement in the NCAA Division 3 Regional where Wash U beat Illinois College and Millikin. Then Wash U beat Denison in the Super Regionals to advance to the Division 3 World Series this weekend. Wash U is 33-4 overall.
