Willie Bourbon, Northwestern

Bourbon had a huge offensive week going 7 for 15 to finish off the regular season, hitting .467 with two doubles, a home run, and 4 RBI’s. Northwestern unfortunately lost the mid-week game to Notre Dame and lost 2 of 3 vs. Belmont over the weekend to fall to 17-32 overall. Bourbon finished the year hitting .275 with 8 doubles, 3 triples, 6 home runs, 34 RBI’s and a .455 slugging %.

Marshawn Taylor, Grambling State
Taylor had another huge offensive performance in the SWAC Championships this past week, going 12 for 24, hitting .500 with 5 RBI’s. Unfortunately, Grambling lost in the SWAC Championship game vs. Texas Southern and finished the season 26-26 overall. Taylor had an unbelievable senior season earning All-SWAC First Team honors for hitting .402 with 4 doubles, 3 triples, 44 RBI’s, on base % of .469 with 20 stolen bases on the year.

Eric Giltz, SIUE
Giltz went 5 for 10 this past weekend, hitting .500 vs. Jacksonville State. SIUE got swept by Jacksonville State this past weekend and finished the regular season with a 15-37 overall record. Giltz finished the year with a .247 batting average with 9 doubles and a triple.

Nick Menken, Virginia Tech
Menken had a huge week to finish off the Hokies regular season going 5 for 12, hitting .417 vs. #6 ranked North Carolina. The Hokies beat William & Mary in the mid-week game but got swept by North Carolina over the weekend to finish 21-33 overall. Menken finished the year, hitting .246 with 8 doubles, 4 homers and 30 RBI’s.

Bobby Seymour, Wake Forest
Seymour collected a hit in all four games this past week, going 6 for 16 hitting .375 with a double and a homer along with 6 RBI’s vs. High Point and Virginia to close out the regular season. Wake Forest went on to beat High Point in the mid-week game and took 2 of 3 from Virginia to earn a #9 seed in the ACC Championships this coming week. The Demon Deacons will have to play #5 Louisville and #4 Duke in the ACC Championships and will have to win both to extend their season. Seymour finished the regular season in his freshman year hitting .289 with 11 doubles, 7 homers, 30 RBI’s and a slugging % of .446.

Ryan Altenberger, Xavier
Altenberger went 4 for 11 in the final weekend of regular season play, hitting .364 with 4 RBI’s. Xavier went on to beat Northern Kentucky in the mid-week game and took 2 of 3 vs. Villanova to finish the year with 20-35 overall record. Altenberger finished his freshman campaign hitting .226 with 14 doubles, 3 home runs and 18 RBI’s.

Ryan Dunne, Western Illinois
Dunne got the win this past weekend vs. Nebraska-Omaha going 6.1 innings giving up only 1 run on 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9. Western Illinois took 2 of 3 vs. Nebraska-Omaha to improve to 17-29 overall and 15-13 in the Summit. With the weekend series win the Leathernecks earned the #2 seed in the Summit and will take on North Dakota State this week in the Summit Championships down in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dunne finished the regular season with a 4-6 record a 4.87 ERA and had 93 strikeouts in 77.2 innings of work.

Ben Dickey, Northwestern
Dickey finished the season off strong going 6 for 18, hitting .333 this past week. Northwestern lost 3 of the 4 games they played this past week to finish the season with a 17-32 overall record. Dickey finished the year hitting .220 with 6 doubles, 1 home run, 10 RBI’s and 13 stolen bases.

Hank Christie, Northwestern
Christie went 6.1 innings vs. Belmont this past weekend in his start getting a no-decision. Christie gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Christie finished the year logging the second most innings on the team with 68.1, finishing with a 3-5 record and a 4.61 ERA.

Cal Coughlin, TCU
Coughlin went one inning in relief vs. Texas this past weekend giving up 0 runs on only 1 hit. TCU got swept by Texas and fell to 30-22 overall to finish the regular season. Coughlin finished the regular season with a 2-2 record out of the bullpen with a 1.57 ERA, 3 saves and 20 strikeouts in 28.2 innings of work. TCU will take on Texas Tech in the opening round of the Big 12 Championships this week.

Dalton Parker, Purdue
Parker made two relief appearances this past week. 1st relief appearance, Parker got the win vs. Oral Roberts in the mid-week game going 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 1. In Parker’s 2nd outing he tossed 1.1 innings vs. #17 ranked Michigan, giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 2.  Purdue went on to beat ORU in the mid-week and sweep Michigan over the weekend to finish the regular season with a 34-18 overall record. Purdue also earned a #2 seed in the Big Ten Championships this upcoming week and will square off against Ohio State in Omaha in the 1st round. Parker finished the regular season with a 4-0 record in 20.1 innings of relief work along with a 4.43 ERA.

Kevin Sullivan, Middle Tennessee State
Sullivan had a great offensive week vs. UAB where he went 5 for 16, hitting .313 with 2 homers and 3 RBI’s. MTSU took 2 of 3 vs. UAB and finished the year 27-27-1 overall. Sullivan finished the season hitting .260 with 9 doubles, 3 home runs, 19 RBI’s and a .408 on base %.

Richard Fordon, Northwestern
Fordon finished his senior year off in style going 5.1 innings of relief vs. Belmont in the finale giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2. However, Northwestern lost 2 of 3 vs. Belmont and finished the year at 17-32. Fordon finished his senior year as a Wildcat with a 1-6 record out of the bullpen with 3 saves, a 5.70 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 36.1 innings.

Jordan Libman, Illinois State
Libman went 2 for 6 this past weekend vs. Evansville, hitting .333 with an RBI. The Redbirds took 2 of 3 vs. the Purple Aces to finish the regular season with a 22-28 overall record and earning a #6 seed in the MVC Championships this week. Libman finished the year with a .246 batting average with 6 doubles, a homer and 21 RBI’s.

Wyatt Trautwein, UIC
Trautwein made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. Youngstown State going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 2. UIC swept Youngstown State over the weekend and improved to 28-16 overall and earned them a #2 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championships. Trautwein finished the year with a 2-2 record, a 1.09 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 33 innings of work.

Pat Rumoro, Louisville
Rumoro went 3 for 10, hitting .300 vs. Notre Dame this past weekend. Louisville swept Notre Dame this past weekend to finish the year with a 40-16 overall record. Louisville will play Wake Forest and Duke in the opening rounds of the ACC Championships this upcoming week. Rumoro finished the year hitting .222 with 12 RBI’s for the #25 ranked Cardinals.

Michael Costanzo, Austin Peay
Costanzo didn’t have his best stuff this weekend and ended up going 5.1 innings vs Eastern Illinois giving up 4 earned runs off 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8. Austin Peay got swept by the Panthers and fell to 30-25 overall. The Governors will take on Jacksonville State in the opening rounds of the OVC Championships this upcoming week. Costanzo finished the regular season with a 9-1 record, a 4.27 ERA and had 100 strikeouts in 84.1 innings of work in his senior campaign.

Sam Cottingham-Beard, Western Illinois
Cottingham-Beard got a win in relief this past weekend going 4 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. The Leathernecks took 2 of 3 vs. Nebraska-Omaha and earned a #2 seed in the Summit League Championships. Cottingham-Beard finished the regular season with a 1-1 record out of the bullpen with a 3.47 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 23.1 innings of work.

Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
Musielak made two starts in the Division 3 NCAA Regional this past weekend. Musielak got the start in the opening game vs. Bethany Lutheran where he went 6 innings giving up 5 runs on 9 hits while striking out 3. Musielak got his 2nd start in the Regional Finals vs. UW-Oshkosh where he got the win going a complete game 9 innings giving up only 1 run on 8 hits while striking out 3. Concordia-Chicago went 5-1 in their Regional to beat UW-Oshkosh twice in the Championship and move on to the NCAA Division 3 World Series in Appleton, Wisconsin next weekend. Concordia-Chicago is now 38-13 overall and Musielak is 6-2 with a 3.34 ERA in 67.1 innings of work.

Michael Sebby, Illinois State
Sebby made two appearances this past weekend vs. Evansville. Sebby earned the save in his 1st outing going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits. In his 2nd outing Sebby went 1 inning giving up 2 runs on 1 hit and 3 walks but the Redbirds took 2 of 3 vs. Evansville to move to 22-28 overall. Sebby finished the regular season with a 3-1 record out of the bullpen with one save, a 3.43 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 21 innings. ISU earned a #6 seed in the MVC Championships and will take on Bradley in the opening rounds in Dallas, Texas.

Kolton Rominski, Hillsdale
Rominski made one relief appearance in the NCAA Division 2 Midwest Regional vs. Illinois-Springfield. Rominski went 1.2 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 3 hits and 1 walk. Hillsdale lost both Regional games to finish their season 26-30 overall. Rominski finished the year off with a 5-3 record, a 3.97 ERA with one save in 59 innings of work.

Jack Carberry, Western Illinois
Carberry went 1.2 innings in relief this past weekend giving up 1 earned run in 1.2 innings off of 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Carberry finished his freshman year regular season with a 2.75 ERA, a 2-0 record and had 17 strikeouts in 19.2 innings of work. The Leathernecks will take #2 seed into the Summit League Championships this week in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Keaton Rice, Bradley
Rice hit his 1st collegiate home run this past weekend vs. Southern Illinois to finish up the regular season. Rice capped off his freshman campaign by hitting .317 with 28 RBI’s and a .421 on base %. Bradley lost 2 of 3 vs. SIU and finished 30-17 overall and earned a #3 seed in the MVC Championships in Dallas, Texas this week, where they will face off vs. Illinois State in the opening rounds.

Frankie Perrone, Eastern Illinois
Perrone finished off his senior campaign with a bang as he had his best series of the year vs. Austin Peay this past weekend. Perrone went 5 for 11, hitting .455 with 2 homers and 7 RBI’s to help the Panthers sweep Austin Peay and finish the year 23-30 overall. The Panthers will now take on Murray State in the opening rounds of the OVC Championships this week.

Bobby Kametas, Creighton
Kametas collected another save over the weekend vs. California going 1.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. Creighton took 2 of 3 from California and finished 34-16 overall and 8-9 in the Big East. However, they didn’t make it into the Big East tournament as they finished 5th. Kametas finished the year with a 3.54 ERA, 7 saves and 19 strikeouts in 20.1 innings of work.

Brett Newberg, Austin Peay
Newberg made two relief appearances this past weekend going a total of 2.1 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out 1. Austin Peay lost all three vs Eastern Illinois and fell to 30-25 overall. Austin Peay will play Jacksonville State in the opening rounds of the OVC Championships this week. Newberg finished the regular season off with a 3-2 record, 6 saves, a 4.12 ERA in 54.2 innings out of the bullpen.

Anfernee Crompton, Army
Crompton went 1 for 4 in the first game of the best of three series Patriot League Championships vs. Navy. The games were pushed back due to weather, so the rest of the Championships will finish up this week, with the winner moving on to the NCAA Championships.

Jacob Nagel, Bellarmine
Nagel got the start in their final game vs. Quincy in the NCAA Division 2 Midwest Regional. Nagel had one of his worst outings of the year going 2.2 innings giving up 7 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. Bellarmine got beat in game 1 vs. Illinois-Springfield, then beat Northwood in game 2 and then lost to Quincy in game 3 to finish the year 38-19 overall. Nagel finished the year with a 6-4 record, and a 4.85 ERA in 59.1 innings.

Marius Balandis, Iowa Western CC
Balandis didn’t get in during the Northern District Tournament, but Iowa Western took care of business beating Olney Central twice and Wabash once to head to the NJCAA World Series in Colorado this week where they will face Chattahoochee Valley CC in the opening round. Iowa Western is now 53-5 overall on the year and Balandis is 6-1 with a 3.47 ERA and has 39 strikeouts in 36.1 innings of work.
