Week #15 in NCAA Division 1 College Baseball: Top Tier Alumni Roundup:

Player of the Week:

Nick Laxner,
RHP, Eastern Illinois
Laxner threw superb in his start vs. Morehead State in the OVC Tournament. Laxner went 7.2 innings giving up 1 run off of 9 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. The Panthers beat Morehead State in the Championship of the OVC to earn the Automatic bid into the NCAA Regional. Eastern Illinois will be playing in the Vanderbilt Regional and will face Vanderbilt in the 1st Rd this weekend.

Renzo Gonzalez
, OF/1B, Miami 
Gonzalez swung the bat really well in the ACC Tournament going 5 for 15, hitting .333 with 3 RBI's as the Hurricanes lost in the ACC Championship game vs. Clemson but earned an at large bid into the NCAA Regional. Miami who is ranked 11th in the nation will host a NCAA Regional this upcoming weekend with a 40-19 overall record. Miami will face Maine in the 1st round of the Regional. 


Cam Minacci, RHP, Wake Forest
Minacci made two relief appearances in the ACC Tournament this past week throwing a total of 2 scoreless innings giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2. Wake Forest beat Pittsburgh and Notre Dame but lost to Miami to end up 47-10 overall. Wake Forest however earned the #1 overall seed and an at large bid in the NCAA Regional. Wake Forest will host a Regional and will take on George Mason this weekend in the 1st round. 


Gavin Doyle, INF, Western Michigan 
Doyle went 3 for 9, hitting .333 with two doubles and 2 RBI's in the MAC Tournament this past week. The Broncos lost to Kent State and Central Michigan to finish the year 21-31 overall. 


Dawson Place, RHP, Florida Gulf Coast
Place earned a win in relief in the ASUN Tournament giving up only 1 run in 3.2 innings off of 4 hits while striking out 5. FGCU lost to Lipscomb in the ASUN Championship game to finish the year 42-18 overall. 


Cam Redding, C/1B, Saint Louis
Redding collected 5 hits in the Atlantic-10 Tournament this past week with a homer, a double and collected 7 RBI's. Saint Louis however lost to George Mason in the A-10 Championship game to finish the year 33-23 overall. 


Blake Wright, INF, Clemson
Wright collected 3 hits in the ACC Tournament with a homer and an RBI. Clemson won the ACC Championship and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Regional. Clemson who is ranked 5th in the nation with a 43-17 overall record will host a Regional and will play Lipscomb in the 1st round. 


Antonio Brown, INF/OF, Mercer
Brown collected 3 hits with two doubles and 2 RBI's in the Southern Conference Tournament. Mercer lost to Wofford, beat the Citadel and then lost to UNC Greensboro to finish the year 33-25 overall. 


Derek Crum, LHP, Wake Forest
Crum earned a win in relief in the ACC Tournament vs. Notre Dame where he tossed 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 3. Wake Forest lost in the ACC Tournament and finished 47-10 overall. They earned the #1 overall seed and will host a Regional this weekend. 


Brady Miller, RHP, Western Michigan 
Miller earned a no-decision in the MAC Tournament this past week where he tossed 7 innings in his start vs. Kent State where he gave up 3 runs off 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3. The Broncos lost both playoff games and finished the year 21-31 overall.


Casey Kmet, INF, Notre Dame
Kmet went 2 for 5 with an RBI in the ACC Tournament this past week. Notre Dame lost to Pittsburgh and Wake Forest to finish the year 30-23 overall.


Cade Kurland, INF, Florida
Kurland collected 2 hits with a homer and an RBI in the SEC Tournament as Florida lost to 8th ranked Vanderbilt. Florida who is ranked 3rd in the nation earned an at large bid into the NCAA Regional and will host vs. Florida A&M in the 1st round after going 44-14 overall. 


Khyle Radcliffe, OF, Southern 
Radcliffe collected 3 hits in the SWAC Tournament with a homer, a double and collected 3 RBI's. Southern lost to Bethune-Cookman to finish the year 23-28 overall. 


Jack Mahoney, RHP, South Carolina
Mahoney earned a loss in his start in the SEC Tournament this past week against Texas A&M where he went 4 innings giving up 4 runs off 5 hits and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts. South Carolina however earned an at large bid into the NCAA Regional after finishing the year 39-19 and were ranked 13th in the nation. South Carolina will host a Regional and face Central Connecticut State in the 1st round this weekend. 


Scott Youngbrandt, RHP, Missouri State
Youngbrandt made two relief appearances int MVC Tournament this past weekend going at total of 2.2 innings giving up only 1 earned run off of 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Missouri State lost to Evansville in the semi-finals of the MVC to finish the year 33-23 overall.


Chase Stanke, C, Kentucky
Stanke didn't get into the opening round game vs. Alabama in the SEC Tournament game and Kentucky lost to Alabama to get eliminated out of the SEC Tourney. Kentucky however earned an at large bid with a 36-18 overall record and will host a NCAA Regional and will take on Ball State in the 1st round this weekend. 


Andrew Wilhite, OF, Ball State
Wilhite didn't get in the MAC Tournament this past weekend but he got to see his Cardinals beat Kent State to win the MAC Championship an earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Regional. Ball State who is 36-21 overall will take on Kentucky in the 1st round of the Lexington Regional.

 
Brendan Summerhill, OF & Jackson Kent, LHP, Arizona
Summerhill got into a few games in the PAC-12 Tournament earning one walk, and Kent didn't get in. Arizona made it all the way to the PAC-12 Championship game losing to Oregon. Arizona however earned an at large bid after going 33-24 and will head to the Arkansas NCAA Regional to take on TCU in the 1st round this weekend.
