Week 19: MLB/MiLB Top Tier Alumni / Coaches Roundup:

MLB Roundup:

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals

Roark made one start this past week vs. the Mets picking up the loss but pitching well. Roark went 6 innings giving up only 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 7. Roark is now 8-13 on the year with a 3.95 ERA. The Nationals are now 67-67 and are 8 games out of the NL East leaders.

Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals

DeJong went 2 for 15 this past week, and his Cardinals are making a playoff push in the NL Central, as they are currently 74-59 and only 4.5 games out of 1st in their division. DeJong is hitting .231 on the year with 14 homers and 42 RBI’s.

Ryan Borucki, Toronto Blue Jays

Borucki made two starts this past week. In the 1st start this week, he picked up a big win vs. the Phillies going 6.1 innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5. In his 2nd start of the week, Borucki got a no-decision vs the Orioles going 4.2 innings giving up 5 runs on 8 hits while striking out 2. On the year, Borucki is 3-3 with a 4.52 ERA.

MiLB Roundup:

Rob Scahill, Charlotte Knights (Affiliate of Chicago White Sox) Triple A

Scahill had a rough week this past week, making 3 relief appearances going a total of 3 innings giving up 7 runs on 9 hits while striking out 5. On the year, Scahill is 2-4 with 5 saves and an ERA of 5.77 in Triple A. Scahill also has 67 strikeouts in 57.2 innings of work.

Jeremy Rhoades, Salt Lake Bees (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels) Triple A

Rhoades made 3 relief appearances this past week and has marvelled as he went a total of 3.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 4. Rhoades also picked up a win in relief and has improved to 6-4 on the year with 4 saves, an ERA of 2.96 and has 48 strikeouts in 51.2 innings at the Triple A level.

Tyler Ladendorf, Reno Aces (Affiliate of Arizona Diamondbacks) Triple A

Ladendorf got called back up to Triple A this past week, going 2 for 13 this past week. Ladendorf is hitting .286 with the Reno Aces on the year in his two stints with them.

Karch Kowalczyk, Oklahoma City Dodgers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers) Triple A

Kowalczyk after being up just one game with the Triple A affiliate got put back on the 7-day disabled list after in one appearance with them this past week.

Jason Goldstein, Midland RockHounds (Affiliate to Oakland Athletics) Double A

Goldstein went 3 for 10 this past week, hitting .300 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s.

Blake Hickman, Winston-Salem Dash (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) High A

Hickman made one relief appearance this past week going 3.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3. Hickman is now 2-3 on the year with a 7.03 ERA and has 52 strikeouts in 65.1 innings of work.

Adam Walton, Visalia Rawhide (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) High A

Walton went 5 for 18 this past week, hitting .278 with a homerun and 3 RBI’s. Walton on the year is hitting .265 with 5 homers, 14 doubles and 35 RBI’s.

Ryan Koziol, Augusta GreenJackets (Affiliate to San Francisco Giants) Low A

Koziol has been on the Disabled-List since July 3rd, but got his first rehab assignment this past week pitching for the AZL Giants, where he went 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1.

Zach Lewis, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A

Lewis got the win in his one start this past week going 6 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6. Lewis in now 5-5 on the year with 3 saves, an ERA of 2.65 and has 96 strikeouts in 98.2 innings of work.

Will Kincanon, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A

Kincanon made 3 relief appearances this past week going a total of 3.2 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 6. Kincanon is now 2-1 on the year with 4 saves, a 4.11 ERA and has 38 strikeouts in 30.2 innings of work.

Danny Mayer, Williamsport Crosscutters (Affiliate to Philadelphia Phillies) Low A Shortseason

Mayer went 5 for 15 this past week, hitting .333 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s. Mayer is hitting .270 with 11 doubles, 2 triples, 5 homers and 19 RBI’s on the year with Williamsport.

Sean Hjelle, Salem-Keizek Volcanoes (Affiliate to San Francisco Giants) Low A Shortseason

Hjelle made one relief appearance this past week going 1 inning giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2. Hjelle has a 5.59 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work.

Michael Costanzo, Princeton Rays (Affiliate to Tampa Bay Rays) Low A Rookie League

Costanzo made 2 relief appearances this past week going a total of 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits while striking out 5. Costanzo is now 2-1 on the year with 6 saves, an ERA of 2.08 and has 37 strikeouts in 26 innings of work.

Marshawn Taylor, AZL D-Backs (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) Low A Rookie League

Taylor went 2 for 10 this past week. Taylor is hitting .172 with 7 RBI’s on the year.

Ryan Dunne, Billings Mustangs (Affiliate to Cincinnati Reds) Low A Rookie League

Dunne made 2 relief appearances this past week, going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 4. Dunne is 2-1 on the year with 5 saves, an ERA of 3.05 and has 23 strikeouts in 20.2 innings of work.

Independent Baseball

Joe Benson, Chicago Dogs (Independent League) American Association
Benson went 10 for 27 this past week, hitting .370 with 3 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Benson is currently hitting .294 with 17 doubles, 3 triples, 8 homers and 36 RBI’s.

Kylin Turnbull, Chicago Dogs (Independent League) American Association
Turnbull has been put on the disabled list.

Mitch Glasser, Sioux Falls Canaries (Independent League) American Association
Glasser had a down week this past week, only collecting 2 hits and 1 RBI. Glasser is hitting .289 on the year with 5 doubles and 18 RBI’s for Sioux Falls.

Mitch Schulewitz, Schaumburg Boomers (Independent League) Frontier League
Schulewitz has been put on the disabled list

Jack Landwehr, Normal Cornbelters (Independent League) Frontier League
Landwehr didn’t pitch this past week.

Anthony Ray, Pennsylvania Road Warriors (Independent League) Atlantic League
Ray went 3 for 10 this past week, hitting .300 with a double and an RBI. Ray is currently hitting .242 with 5 doubles, 4 triples, 12 RBI’s and 13 stolen bases.
