MLB Roundup:
Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals
DeJong on his Milwaukee Brewers series went 3 for 11 with a double this past week. Then it was off to start the Cincinnati Reds series by the end of the week where DeJong hit a solo homerun to open it up. However, after that DeJong finished the Reds series cooling off a bit, going 0 for 8. DeJong is hitting .246 with 4 homeruns to start the year.
Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals
Roark got one start this past week vs. the Colorado Rockies. Roark has a good start but unfortunately took the loss, tossing 6 innings giving up only one run on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. On the year, Rorak has a 3.50 ERA in his three starts.
MiLB Roundup:
Rob Scahill, Charlotte Knights (Affiliate of Chicago White Sox) Triple A
Scahill picked up a win in relief early in the week, going 2 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. Scahill made three more relief appearances this past week, totalling 3 innings of work in those remaining innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2. Scahill has a 6.00 ERA on the year so far out of the bullpen.
Ryan Borucki, Buffalo Bisons (Affiliate of Toronto Blue Jays) Triple A
Borucki made his 1st start in Triple A this past week throwing well but taking the loss. Borucki went 5 innings in his start giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3.
Karch Kowalczyk, Tulsa Drillers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers) Double A
Kowalczyk made 3 relief appearances this past week, totalling 4 innings of work. Kowalczyk gave up 0 runs this past week on 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. He improved his ERA to 4.26 on the year.
Jeremy Rhoades, Mobile BayBears (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels) Double A
Rhoades made 3 relief appearances this past week, improving each time he got out there. Rhoades went a total of 4.1 innings this past week giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Rhoades now has a 7.94 ERA on the year.
Blake Hickman, Winston-Salem Dash (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) High A
Hickman continued to marvel out of the bullpen. Hickman made 2 relief appearances this past week going a total of 2.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 4. Hickman has a 0.00 ERA to start the year in 4.2 innings pitched out of the bullpen.
Adam Walton, Visalia Rawhide (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) High A
Walton finally had a breakout game offensively on his 6th game of the year this past week, where he went 3 for 4.
Connor Riley, Inland Empire 66ers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels) High A
Riley had a rough 2nd relief outing this past week going 1.1 innings giving up 7 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1.
Zach Lewis, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A
Lewis has been assigned to the Low A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox out of extended spring training. Lewis made 2 relief appearances this past week going a total of 4 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Lewis has a 2.25 ERA to start the year.
