Willie Bourbon, Northwestern @williebourbon
Bourbon absolutely was the most overpowering player on the field at Kansas this past weekend. Even though Northwestern dropped 2 of 3 vs. Kansas, Bourbon went a cool 7 for 14, hitting .500 with 2 homeruns, a double, a triple and an collecting an astounding 7 RBI’s.
Cooper Johnson, Ole Miss @coopj325
Johnson helped the Rebels sweep Tulane this past weekend by blasting two huge home runs and collecting 4 RBI’s. This huge offensive outburst along with Johnson being one of the best defensive catchers in the country has helped the Rebels improve to 7-0 overall and being ranked #9 in the nation.
Sean Hjelle, Kentucky @Hjellebean
Hjelle took to the mound on Friday night vs. Oakland after they had just suffered their 1st loss of the season in the mid-week game vs. Xavier. Hjelle completely dominated the Golden Grizzlies and moved to 2-0 in his two starts for the Wildcats. Hjelle went 7.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 13. The Wildcats swept Oakland over the weekend and are 7-1 overall on the year and are ranked #8 in the nation.
Cal Coughlin, TCU @Calcogz22TT
Coughlin once again gets it done out of the bullpen for the Horned Frogs this weekend vs. Long Beach State. Coughlin went a total of 3 innings in relief making 2 appearances giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2. TCU #3 ranked team in the nation took 2 of 3 from Long Beach State. Coughlin has allowed 0 runs in his 4 appearances this year.
Trey Schramm, Xavier @tschramm13
Schramm picked up the win in relief vs. #8 ranked, Kentucky in the mid-week game. He went 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. The Musketeers won it in extra innings. Schramm picked up his 2nd win in relief over the weekend vs. Presbyterian going 2.2 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk. Xavier improved to 3-4 overall on the year.
Peyton Isaacson, Saint Leo @TheMagnum_PI
Isaacson continues to be one of the hottest hitters in Division 2 baseball and dominate in the closer role at Saint Leo. Isaacson hit a 3-run homer and got save #5 vs. Eckerd in the mid-week game going 1 inning giving up 0 runs while striking out 2. Then he proceeded to go 7 for 15 on the weekend, hitting .467 with 2 more homeruns, 3 doubles and collecting 9 RBI’s to help Saint Leo sweep Lynn University. Isaacson also, continued to dominate on the mound coming in for another save for #6 on the year going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits.
Keaton Rice, Bradley @ricekrispy_
Rice went 5 for 8, hitting .625 this past weekend with 5 singles, 3 walks and 3 RBI’s. Rice as a true freshman is hitting .375 on the year fro Bradley and continues to be their horse behind the plate as the catcher. Bradley swept South Dakota State this past weekend and improve to 5-1 overall on the year.
Jordie Libman, Illinois State
Libman went 4 for 8 on the weekend at the plate, hitting .500 with a double and 5 RBI’s. The Redbirds however lost 2 of 3 vs. Tennessee Tech over the weekend.
Neil Lambert, Bowling Green @neillambert14
Lambert had a huge offensive weekend vs. SEMO having 3 multi-hit games out of the 4 played. In all, Lambert went 7 for 15, hitting .467 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI’s to help Bowling Green split with SEMO over the weekend and improve to 2-5 overall on the year.
Justin Kelly, Wayne State
Kelly in his Opening weekend this past weekend in Florida went 4 for 7, hitting .571 helping the Warriors go 1-1 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan.
Luke Johnson, Bucknell @LukeJohnson_6
Johnson continued to have success at the plate in his senior campaign as he went 4 for 12, hitting .333 for the second weekend in a row. However, his Bucknell Bison squad got swept by Duke and are still searching for their 1st win of the 2018 season.
Nick Menken, Virginia Tech @Nickmenken
Menken had a power surge this past week getting a hit in every game this week, with 2 being homers and collecting 4 RBI’s. Menken’s offensive output however only helped the Hokies collect one win vs. Ball State. The Hokies are now 2-5 overall and Menken continues to be the staple for them in centerfield.
Michael Costanzo, Austin Peay @costanzoAP56
Costanzo picked up his 1st win of the year going 5 innings in his start vs. Toledo, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8. Austin Peay swept Toledo over the weekend and improved to 6-1 overall.
Matt Burch, Wabash Valley CC
Burch had another big weekend offensively as he collected a hit in every game going 8 for 20, hitting 400 with 3 doubles on the week. Wabash Valley is now 7-2 overall on the year.
Steven Skolarz, University of Montevallo
Skolarz improved to 3-0 on the year after his win vs. Christian Brothers. Skolarz continues to marvel on the mound this year as he went 8 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 11.
Robby McGaha, Olney Central College @robbymc24
McGaha had an excellent weekend at the plate going 8 for 18, hitting .444 with a double, a triple and 6 RBI’s. Olney went 5-1 this past week beating Cleary and Union twice and splitting with Cumberlands.

Clayton continued to stay hot at the plate going 4 for 9, hitting .444 in the loss to Parkland and win vs. South Suburban over the weekend. John A. Logan in 5-2 overall on the year.

Schrimmer a transfer from Heartland CC picked up his 1st Division 1 save vs. South Dakota State. In his relief appearance to pick up the save, Schrimmer went 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5.

Schalasky came in relief this past week going a steady 5 innings vs. Notre Dame College giving up 0 runs on 6 hits while striking out 5. UIndy went on to lose to Notre Dame College but knocked off #13 ranked, Quincy on the weekend and are now 3-2 overall on the year.

Niemerg went 2 for 4 this past weekend with 2 homeruns and 4 RBI’s. Niemerg also pitched 2 innings of relief giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. Maryville took 3 of 4 from McKendree this past weekend and improved to 5-4 overall.

Zordani went 4 for 12 this past weekend, hitting .333 with a 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s, however it wasn’t enough as Madonna University took 3 of 4 from St. Xavier.

Rumoro picked up 3 hits this past weekend for the #13 ranked Cardinals. Louisville swept Youngstown State to improve to 7-0 overall on the year.

Kruse got a complete game win vs. Morningside (IA) this past weekend, going 7 innings giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits while striking out 6. Benedictine improved to 5-4 overall on the year.

Haskins a transfer from Blackhawk CC went 4 for 13 on opening weekend in Florida with a double and 5 RBI’s. Augustana went 2-1 on opening weekend.

Huffman took the loss this past weekend getting the start vs. Tennessee Tech going 4 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. The Redbirds lost 2 of 3 vs. Tennessee Tech over the weekend.

Forestell collected 3 hits this past weekend with a double and 2 RBI’s to help the Broncos beat Miami (OH) and Yale while losing only to Campbell. Western Michigan improved to 2-4 overall on the year.

DiLuia made his 2nd outing of the year a much better as a freshman as he went 1.1 innings of relief giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 1. Maryland however lost 2 of 3 to Army over the weekend and a mid-week contest to William and Mary.

Lass came out of the bullpen and went 1.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 1 vs. Kansas this past weekend.

Newberg pitched in relief in the final game of the weekend vs. Toledo to help the Governors get the sweep. Newberg went 5 innings of relief on Sunday giving up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 6. The Governors are off to a hot start and are 6-1 overall on the year.

Seymour went 3 for 7 this past weekend with 3 walks, but his Demon Deacons lost 2 of 3 vs. Santa Clara. Wake Forest is now 3-5 overall on the year.

Sandoval made two appearances out of the bullpen this past weekend. He went a total of 3.1 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 3 and picking up a save vs. Mount Mercy. Saint Francis is now 4-5 overall on the year.

Snarskis after being good out of the bullpen last week got a start this past weekend vs. West Virginia. Snarskis got a No-Decision giving up 5 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 1. Illinois lost to Western Virginia, split with Coastal Carolina and beat VCU over the weekend. The Fighting Illini are now 3-3 overall on the year.
