MLB Roundup:

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals

Roark took a loss this past week in his one outing dropping him to 8-15 overall on the year. Roark went 5 innings vs. St. Louis giving up 6 runs on 10 hits while striking out 4. On the year, Roark has a 4.23 ERA with 141 strikeouts in 170.1 innings of work.

Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals

DeJong went 4 for 20 this past week with a homer, a double and 3 RBI’s. DeJong is currently hitting .232 with 17 homers, 19 doubles and 54 RBI’s. The Cardinals are only 3.5 games out of 1st place in the NL Central Division.

Ryan Borucki, Toronto Blue Jays

Borucki didn’t get a start this past week. Borucki is currently 3-4 since being pulled up with a 4.39 ERA and has 45 strikeouts in 69.2 innings of work.

Rob Scahill, Chicago White Sox

After pitching the whole season with the Triple A team the Charlotte Knights, Scahill got the call up to the White Sox big league team on September 8th. This will be the 4th team that Scahill has pitched for professionally in the Major League Baseball.

MiLB Roundup:

Jeremy Rhoades, Salt Lake Bees (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels) Triple A

Rhoades finished the year at 6-4 with 4 saves, an ERA of 2.87 with 51 strikeouts in 53.1 innings at the Triple A level. Rhoades looks to make a huge push to make the Big League squad next year as a reliever.

Tyler Ladendorf, Reno Aces (Affiliate of Arizona Diamondbacks) Triple A

Ladendorf finished the year hitting .354 with 3 doubles and 5 RBI’s for the Reno Aces. Between Double A and Triple A this year, Ladendorf hit .245 with 7 doubles, a homer, and 13 RBI’s.

Karch Kowalczyk, Tulsa Drillers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers) Double A

Kowalczyk made two relief appearances this past week going 2.2 innings in total giving up 0 runs on 4 hits while striking out 4. On the year, Kowalczyk between Double A and Triple A was 1-1 with a 6.54 ERA with 1 save and 32 strikeouts in 31.2 innings of work out of the bullpen.

Jason Goldstein, Midland RockHounds (Affiliate to Oakland Athletics) Double A

Goldstein played at all three levels this past year, finishing with a .229 batting average with 7 doubles, 2 homers and 7 RBI’s.

Blake Hickman, Winston-Salem Dash (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) High A

Hickman made one appearance this past week going 0.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 1. Hickman finished the year 3-3 with a 6.82 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 67.1 innings of work.

Adam Walton, Visalia Rawhide (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) High A

Walton went 1 for 6 to finish the year with an RBI. Walton had his best year as a pro, hitting .267 with 15 doubles, a triple, 5 homers and 36 RBI’s.

Ryan Koziol, Augusta GreenJackets (Affiliate to San Francisco Giants) Low A

Koziol finished the year with a 2.45 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work.

Zach Lewis, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A
Lewis made one start this past week getting a no-decision throwing 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8. Lewis finished the year 6-5 with 3 saves, a 2.60 ERA with 103 strikeouts in 103.2 innings of work.

Will Kincanon, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A

Kincanon made one relief appearance this past week going 1 inning giving up 0 runs off one hit. Kincanon finished the year 3-1 with 4 saves, an ERA of 3.63 with 42 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work.

Danny Mayer, Williamsport Crosscutters (Affiliate to Philadelphia Phillies) Low A Shortseason

Mayer in the minors between three different teams in the organization, finished hitting .234 with 13 doubles, 2 triples, 7 homers and 21 RBI’s.

Sean Hjelle, Salem-Keizek Volcanoes (Affiliate to San Francisco Giants) Low A Shortseason

Hjelle finished his 1st professional season with a 5.06 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 21.1 innings of work.

Michael Costanzo, Princeton Rays (Affiliate to Tampa Bay Rays) Low A Rookie League

Costanzo finished his 1st professional season 2-1 with 6 saves an ERA of 2.08 with 37 strikeouts in 26 innings of work.

Marshawn Taylor, AZL D-Backs (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) Low A Rookie League

Taylor finished his 1st professional season hitting .172 with a double, a triple, 7 RBI’s and 5 stolen bases.

Ryan Dunne, Billings Mustangs (Affiliate to Cincinnati Reds) Low A Rookie League

Dunne made one relief appearance this past week going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 2. Dunne finished his 1st professional season 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA with 5 saves and 26 strikeouts in 23.2 innings of work.
