Week #3 Top Tier Alumni Roundup: Top Performances in College Baseball

Hank Christie, Northwestern
Christie got his 1st collegiate win throwing a complete 9-inning game vs. Santa Clara this past weekend. His stat line was he scattered 6 hits giving up 1 run while striking out 4. His outstanding performance earned him Big Ten Freshman of the Week recognition. On the year he has a 2.25 ERA on 3 starts as a Freshman.

Sean Hjelle, Kentucky
Hjelle had a huge win vs. #23 ranked UCSB going 7.1 innings in his 3rd career start giving up 6 hits, 1 run while striking out 8. Kentucky swept UCSB this weekend and won 2 mid-week games vs. Western Kentucky to improve their record to 7-5 overall.

Peyton Isaacson, Coastal Carolina
Isaacson had a hit in every game this past week, going 6 for 14 hitting .429 with 5 RBI’s. He also got his 1st collegiate home run this past weekend as they improved to 9-5 overall on the year.

Dalton Parker, Purdue
Parker got his 2nd save of the year going 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit with 6 strikeouts. Purdue took 2 of 3 from SEMO this past weekend and Parker continues to have an ERA of 0.00 on the year.

Ben Browdy, Wash U
Browdy continues to dominate offensively having multi-hit games in all four contests he was in this past week. On the week, he went 9 for 19 hitting .474 with a double and 5 RBI’s.

Jordan Libman, Illinois State
Libman got in 3 times this past weekend vs. Miami (OH) to collect his 1st collegiate hit and proceeded to go 4 for 9 hitting .444 with a double and an RBI. Illinois state lost all three games vs. Miami (OH) and are 2-7 overall on the year.

Michael Kruse, Benedictine (KS)
Kruse had a great weekend offensively and on the mound. He went 5 for 9 hitting .555 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s, along with getting the win on the mound going 4.2 innings giving up 1 earned run off of 6 hits, 2 walks while striking out 2. Benedictine swept St. Ambrose on the weekend.

Shane Peisker, John Logan CC
Peisker went 5 for 10 on the weekend, hitting .500 with a double and 2 RBI’s. They won all 4 games vs. Triton CC this past weekend.

Malcolm Grady, Wabash Valley CC
Grady got the win vs. South Suburban CC this past weekend throwing 6 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 5 strikeouts. He is 2-1 on the year with 3.50 ERA. Wabash Valley improved to 13-6 on the year.

Justin Kelly, Wayne State
Kelly got back on track offensively going 6 for 15, hitting .400 on the weekend. Wayne State ended up splitting this past weekend.

Matt Sullivan, Chicago State
Sullivan collected a hit in every game in the Snowbird Classic down in Florida, going 5 for 12 hitting .417, with a double and 3 RBI’s.

Brady Huffman, Illinois State
Huffman threw 3 innings relief against Miami (OH) giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 2.

Trey Schramm, Xavier
Schramm went 3 innings of relief this past weekend giving up 0 runs on 1 hit, 1 walk while striking out 2. This was his 1st appearance this year after having a stellar freshman campaign last year.

Austin Foote, Indiana
Foote got 2 relief appearances this past weekend going a total of 2.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1.

Cal Coughlin, TCU
Coughlin got 2 appearances this past weekend going 1.2 innings in total giving up 0 runs on 0 hits, with 1 walk and striking out 1. TCU beat Rice, LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss this past week and remain as the #1 ranked team in Division I baseball with an overall record of 10-1.

Michael Schalasky, UIndy
Schalasky got the win in relief this past weekend going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 4 hits, 0 walks while striking out 3. UIndy swept Oakland City on the weekend to improve to 9-2 overall on the year.

Collin Clayton, John Logan CC
Clayton went 3 for 7 this past weekend collecting 3 RBI’s and hitting .429.

Luke Johnson, Bucknell
Johnson went 3 for 10 on the weekend, hitting .300 with a double. This solid offensive weekend helped Bucknell to improve to 9-5 overall on the year.

Kevin Sullivan, Middle Tennessee State
Sullivan went 3 for 9 on the weekend hitting .333 to help MTSU take 2 of 3 from Kennesaw State.

Connor Riley, USC-Aiken
Riley went 6 innings in his start getting a no-decision while allowing 2 runs on 1 hit, 6 walks while striking out 11. USC-Aiken swept Armstrong on the weekend to improve to 15-3 overall on the year.

Brett Shimanovsky, Saint Louis
Shimanovsky got 2 appearances this past week, totalling 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk. Saint Louis swept Fairleigh Dickinson and also beat Oklahoma State this past week. They are now 10-1 overall on the year.

Michael Oh, North Iowa Area CC
Oh went 6.1 innings in a non-decision vs. Rend Lake CC giving up 1 run on 1 hit, 1 walk with 5 strikeouts.

Robbie McGaha, Olney Central CC
McGaha went 2 for 5 this past weekend, collecting another double and a pair of RBI’s.

David Craan, Illinois
Craan went 3 for 12 on the weekend, hitting 2 home runs and collecting 4 RBI’s. This offensive outburst helped the Fighting Illini salvage one win on the weeknd vs. Florida Atlantic.

Luke Bechina, St. Ambrose
Bechina went 2.2 innings in relief vs. Benedictine this past weekend giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 1.

Sam Cottingham-Beard, Western Illinois
Cottingham-Beard went 2 innings of relief on the weekend giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 2.

Carson Cheeseman, Western Illinois
Cheeseman threw 1 inning of relief this past weekend giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk. They lost all 3 games to Southern Illinois.

Chris Myjak, Butler
Myjak made 2 appearances this past weekend going a total of 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 2.

Frankie Perrone, Eastern Illinois
Perrone went 3 for 11 on the weekend vs. Kansas State, while adding to his power numbers, hitting a homerun, a double and collecting 3 more RBI’s. The Panthers got swept on the weekend vs. Kansas State.

Danny Mayer, Pacific
Mayer collected his 4th home run of the year this past week, continuing to be the biggest power threat in the West Coast Conference.
