Performances of TT Alumni / Coaches in Professional Baseball

MLB Roundup:

Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals

DeJong picked up 8 hits this past week in 6 games. DeJong stayed hot against the NL East leading Mets, going 5 for 12, hitting .417 with 3 doubles and an RBI, helping the Cardinals take 2 of 3. DeJong went 3 for 13 vs. the NL Central leading Pirates and the Cardinals got swept. DeJong collected hits in four of the six games played and is currently hitting .275 with 7 HR and 14 RBI’s. The Cardinals are now 15-12 overall.

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals

Roark made two starts this past weekend. 1st start this week came against the Giants where Roark took the loss going 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Roark bounced back well in his 2nd start of the week vs. the Pirates where he got the win going 7 strong innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. On the year, Roark holds a 3.55 ERA and a 2-2 record. The Nationals are currently 13-16 overall.

MiLB Roundup:

Rob Scahill, Charlotte Knights (Affiliate of Chicago White Sox) Triple A

Scahill made two appearances in relief this past week. Scahill took the loss in one, throwing 0.0 innings giving up 1 run on 0 hits and 0 walks. In his 2nd appearance he rebounded well picking up the win going 2.0 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 2. Scahill is currently holding a 4.35 ERA.

Casey Crosby, Rochester Red Wings (Affiliate of Minnesota Twins) Triple A

Crosby made one appearance out of the bullpen this past week, continue to not give up a run in his return to professional baseball. Crosby went another 0.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk. He still has a 0.00 ERA in his two appearances in Triple A.

Ryan Borucki, Buffalo Bisons (Affiliate of Toronto Blue Jays) Triple A

Borucki picked up his 1st win in Triple A this past week throwing an absolute gem. Borucki went 6 innings giving up only one run on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7. Borucki has a 4.30 ERA as a starter in Triple A.

Jeremy Rhoades, Mobile BayBears (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels) Double A

Rhoades continues to marvel in his two appearances in relief this past week. Rhoades continues for the second week in a row to give up zero runs. Rhoades went a total of 3.1 innings in his two appearances giving up 0 runs on 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Rhoades currently has a 3.46 ERA.

Karch Kowalczyk, Tulsa Drillers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers) Double A

Kowalczyk only made one relief appearance this past week, going 0.2 innings giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits. Kowalczyk now has a 4.91 ERA on the year.

Blake Hickman, Winston-Salem Dash (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) High A

Hickman made only one appearance this past week out of the bullpen. Hickman went 3.0 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. Hickman currently holds a 1.74 ERA in High A.

Adam Walton, Visalia Rawhide (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) High A

Walton had a solid offensive performance this past week, collecting a hit in every game but one going 3 for 11 in his 4 games. Walton is currently hitting .222 in High A.

Jason Goldstein, Stockton Ports (Affiliate to Oakland Athletics) High A

Goldstein after collecting hits in both of his 1st two starts in High A his first week, Goldstein has been placed on the 7-day disabled list this past week by the Stockton Ports.

Danny Mayer, Lakewood BlueClaws (Affiliate to Philadelphia Phillies) Low A

Mayer got moved from Clearwater to the Lakewood BlueClaws this past week. Mayer after doing really well in High A, continued to dominate at the plate again this week in Low A, going 4 for 12, hitting .333 with a homerun, a double and an RBI. Mayer collected a hit in all three games he played in this past week with the BlueClaws as their power hitting outfielder.

Zach Lewis, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A

Lewis made two appearances this past week out of the bullpen. Lewis picked up a save in his 1st appearance this past week going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 2. In his 2nd outing this past week, Lewis went another 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Lewis on the year, owns a 0.79 ERA in Low A.

Independent Baseball

Anthony Ray, Pennsylvania Road Warriors (Independent) Atlantic League

Ray went 1 for 4 in his debut with the Pennsylvania Road Warriors this past week in the Atlantic League of Independent baseball. Ray who was drafted by the Cardinals, looks to be a big impact for the Road Warriors in the outfield this year.
