Here are the highlights from Week #5 in college baseball at the D2/D3, NAIA and JUCO level by our Top Tier Alums:

Top Tier Alumni Player of the Week:

Austin Divello
, RHP, Coe College (D3)

Divello picked up his 1st collegiate win in relief vs. Nebraska Wesleyan this past week. Divello looked incredible tossing 3.1 innings giving up 0 runs on only 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 5. Coe College swept Nebraska Wesleyan and improved to 11-2 overall on the year. 

Best of the Rest in College Baseball (D2/D3/NAIA/JUCO)

Angel Sandoval, RHP, St. Francis (NAIA)

Sandoval got the win vs. Trinity Christian this past weekend throwing 7 scoreless innings off 7 hits and 0 walks while striking out 4. St. Francis lost 2 of 3 vs. Trinity Christian and are now 6-9 overall. 

Connor Blake, INF, Illinois Institute of Technology (D3)

Blake collected multiple hits in every game this past week going 9 for 15 with a homer, two doubles and collecting 7 RBI's. IIT beat Marian twice and split with Concordia-Wisconsin to improve to 5-1 overall on the year. Blake won NACC Position Player of the Week honors for his outstanding performance this past week. 

Andy Booth, LHP, St. Leo (D2)

Booth made two relief appearances this past week for the Lions going a total of 4.2 innings giving up only 1 run off 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. St. Leo beat Florida Southern in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 over the weekend to Lynn to move to 4-6 overall. 

Eric Lundell, RHP, Concordia-St. Paul (D2)

Lundell threw 3.2 innings of relief vs. UMary this past week giving up 0 runs off only 1 hit and 0 walks while striking out 3. Concordia-St. Paul lost to UMary twice and got swept by Northern State to fall to 6-7 overall. 

Noah Manning, RHP, Iowa Western (JUCO)

Manning made two relief appearances this past week earning a save in the one of his appearances. In total, Manning threw 3.2 innings giving up 0 runs off only 2 hits and 0 walks while striking out 4. Iowa Western beat Northeast CC twice and swept Kirkwood to improve to 19-4 overall on the year. 

Ronnie Nowak, INF, Marshalltown (JUCO)

Nowak collected a hit in every game but one this past week, going 6 for 18, hitting .333 with his 1st collegiate homer, a double and 6 RBI's. Marshalltown beat Ellsworth twice but got swept by Indian Hills to fall to 6-14 overall on the year. 

Dave Navarro, C, Illinois Institute of Technology (D3)

Navarro went 4 for 12, hitting .333 this past weekend with 3 RBI's as they beat Marian twice and split with Concordia-Wisconsin to move to 5-1 overall on the year.

Daniel Brannigan
, RHP, Dominican (D3)

Brannigan made one relief appearance this past week for the Stars tossing 2.2 innings giving up 1 run off 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5. Dominican split with Edgewood and Wisconsin Lutheran and are now 4-6 overall on the year. 

Nicholas Talarico
, INF, Case Western (D3)

Talarico went 3 for 7 this past week with a triple and a double as they beat Ohio Wesleyan twice and split with Wittenberg to improve to 6-4 overall on the year. 

Robert Chayka, OF, Kentucky Wesleyan (D2)

Chayka went 6 for 15, hitting .400 this past weekend with a hit in every game. Kentucky Wesleyan swept Ohio Valley and improved to 7-3 overall on the year. 

Jimmy Carey, INF, St. Charles (JUCO)

Carey went 3 for 9 this past week with 3 RBI's as the Cougars beat Kaskaskia and split with Metropolitan CC to move to 7-7 overall on the year.

Andrew Padilla, RHP, Webster (D3)

Padilla made two appearances on the mound this past week throwing a total of 4.2 innings giving up 0 earned runs off only 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. Webster won 3 of 4 from Spaulding. 

Brett Taucher, RHP, Quincy (D2)

Taucher threw one scoreless inning of relief this past weekend giving up 0 hits and 0 walks while striking out 2. Quincy split with Missouri S&T and are 10-6 overall. 

Tyler Acosta, OF, University of Illinois-Springfield (D2)

Acosta went 2 for 6 this past weekend with 2 homers and 5 RBI's as they swept Truman State and improved to 14-2 overall on the year. 

Colin Summerhill
, C, Triton (JUCO)

Summerhill collected hits in both of his games this past week with a triple and 3 RBI's to help the Trojans beat Oakton and lose to Kankakee. Triton is 14-8 overall on the season. 

Johhny Hernandez, C, Blackhawk (JUCO)

Hernandez went 2 for 5 this past week with an RBI as they split with Oakton to move to 2-5 overall on the season. 

Will Gibbs, INF, Olney Central (JUCO)

Gibbs went 2 for 5 with a double vs. Rend Lake this past weekend. Olney Central split with Rend Lake and are now 15-6 overall on the year. 

Connor Tomasic, RHP/INF, South Suburban (JUCO)

Tomasic earned his 3rd win of the season on the mound this past week vs. College of DuPage where he tossed 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs off 8 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9. South Suburban is now 18-6 overall on the year. 

Mitch Farris, LHP/OF, Wingate (D2)

Farris got a start this past week where he went 4.1 solid innings giving up 3 earned runs off 8 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Wingate beat the 8th ranked Mount Olive team in the midweek game and swept Carson-Newman over the weekend to improve to 19-6 overall on the year. 

Brenden Heiss, RHP, Southeastern

Heiss went one inning of relief this past week giving up 0 earned runs off 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 3. His #2 ranked Fire team took 3 of 4 from #19 ranked Freed-Hardeman this past weekend to improve to 29-3 overall on the year. 

Nick Villasenor, LHP, St. Francis (NAIA)

Villasenor took the loss for his efforts this past weekend vs. Trinity Christian. Villasenor threw well giving up only 3 earned runs in 7.2 innings of work off 8 hits and 0 walks while striking out 8. St. Francis lost  2 of 3 to Trinity Christian and are now 6-9 overall. 

Brendan Holloway, OF, Oakton (JUCO)

Holloway went 1 for 3 in his collegiate debut this past weekend vs. Blackhawk. Oakton split with Blackhawk.
