Week #5 in College Baseball
Top Performances from Top Tier Alumni: Jordan Libman, Illinois State named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, hitting .667 on the week.

Jordan Libman, Illinois State
Libman was unstoppable at the dish this past week helping the Redbirds go 4-1 beating SEMO and SIUE in the midweek and taking 2 of 3 vs. Central Michigan on the weekend. Libman went 12 for 18, hitting .667 with two doubles and 7 RBI’s. Libman won Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for his outstanding performance. On the year, the Redbirds are 12-6 overall and Libman is leading the way offensively with a .406 average with 5 doubles, a homer and 15 RBI’s on the year.

Neil Lambert, Bowling Green
Lambert collected a hit in every game this past week, staying hot offensively going 6 for 13, hitting .462 with 4 RBI’s. Bowling Green lost to Cincinnati and beat Oakland during the midweek games and split with Siena over the weekend and are now 4-11 overall. Lambert is leading the team in average hitting .358 on the year.

Cam Redding, Saint Louis
Redding is on fire at the plate riding a 7-game hitting streak. Redding went 7 for 18 this past week, hitting .389 with 5 RBI’s. SLU lost to Creighton twice in the midweek games and swept Chicago State over the weekend to move to 9-9 overall. Redding is leading the team in average hitting .387 with two doubles, a triple and 9 RBI’s.

Matt Burch, Old Dominion
Burch collected hits in every game this past week, absolutely tearing it up again, going 7 for 19 hitting .368 with two doubles and two RBI’s. ODU beat William & Mary and lost of 2 of 3 vs. Charlotte to fall to 13-5 overall and 1-2 in C-USA. Burch is 3rd on the team hitting .338 with 7 doubles, 10 RBI’s and 9 stolen bases.

Kellen Sarver, Illinois
Sarver hit his 1st collegiate home run this past weekend vs. Southern Illinois and went 4 for 11, hitting .364 with 3 RBI’s. Illinois swept SIU and are now 13-3 overall and ranked 23rd in the country. Sarver is 3rd on the team in average, hitting .367 with two doubles, a homer and 10 RBI’s.

Cooper Johnson, Ole Miss
Johnson had a great week again both defensively and offensively for the Rebels this past week. Johnson went 5 for 16, hitting .313 vs. #8 ranked Louisville in the midweek and Alabama over the weekend. Ole Miss lost both to Louisville in close games and took 2 of 3 vs. Alabama over the weekend to move to 14-6 overall on the season. Johnson is 3rd on the team in average, hitting .302 on the year with 5 doubles, 2 homers and 10 RBI’s.

Ryan Hampe, UIC
Hampe went 5 for 6 this past week with a double and 2 RBI’s. UIC beat Chicago State in the midweek and swept Oakland over the weekend to move to 6-8 overall and 3-0 in the Horizon.

Stephen Hill, Morehead State
Hill collected a hit in every game this past week, going 6 for 17, hitting .353 with 3 RBI’s. Morehead State split with West Virginia in the midweek games and swept Eastern Kentucky over the weekend to improve to 14-5 overall and 4-2 in the OVC. Hill is hitting .306 for the season with 2 homers and 10 RBI’s.

Eric Giltz, SIUE
Giltz went 5 for 9 hitting .556 this past week with a double and 3 RBI’s. SIUE lost to Kentucky and Illinois State in the midweek and took 2 of 3 from SEMO over the weekend to move to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in the OVC.

Ben Dickey, Northwestern
Dickey went 4 for 10, hitting .400 with a home run, a stolen base and 2 RBI’s over the weekend. The Wildcats beat McMurray and lost twice to Kent State to fall to 5-11 overall.

Zach Frieling, Saint Louis
Frieling went 6 for 20, hitting .300 this past week with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Saint Louis is now 9-9 overall and Frieling is 3rd on the team in average, hitting .279 with 2 homers, and 12 RBI’s.

Matt Sullivan, Chicago State
Sullivan went 3 for 8, hitting .375 this past weekend vs. Saint Louis with a double and 3 RBI’s. Chicago State go swept by SLU over the weekend.

Robert Kametas, Creighton
Kametas made two relief appearances this past week going a total of 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Creighton beat Saint Louis twice in the midweek games but lost 2 of 3 vs. Evansville over the weekend to move to 11-7 overall.

Willie Bourbon, Northwestern
Bourbon went 4 for 12, hitting .333 this past week with a double, a triple and 3 RBI’s. The Wildcats lost both games on the weekend to Kent State and fell to 5-11 overall.

Patrick Martin, UIC
Martin got a No-Decision for his efforts vs. Oakland this past weekend, tossing 4 innings giving up 0 runs on only 1 hit and 5 walks while striking out 4. UIC swept Oakland over the weekend and improved to 6-8 overall and 3-0 in the Horizon.

Robby McGaha, USC-Upstate
McGaha went 4 for 12, hitting .333 with a triple and 2 RBI’s over the weekend. The Spartans went 2-4 this past weekend and fell to 9-11 overall.

Jack Carberry, Western Illinois
Carberry picked the only win for the Leathernecks this past weekend vs. South Dakota State, tossing 3 innings in relief giving up only 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 4. Western Illinois fell to 5-12 overall after losing twice to #8 ranked Arkansas and losing 2 out of 3 vs. SDSU over the weekend.

Brady Miller, Western Michigan
Miller made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. Butler, tossing 1.2 innings giving up 0 earned runs on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2. The Broncos lost 2 of 3 to Butler and fell to 6-12 overall.

Bobby Seymour, Wake Forest
Seymour collected 4 hits this past week, getting a hit in every game but one with a home run, a double and picking up 3 RBI’s. Wake Forest beat Appalachian State in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Boston College over the weekend to improve to 12-9 overall and 3-3 in the ACC. Seymour is 4th on the team in average, hitting .322 with 8 doubles, a homer and 24 RBI’s on the year.

Brett Newberg, Austin Peay
Newberg got his 2nd save of the year vs. Tennessee Tech this past weekend, going 3 innings giving up only 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 1. Austin Peay swept Tennessee Tech over the weekend and improved to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in the OVC.

Mitch Vogrin, Illinois State
Vogrin made two relief appearances this past weekend going a total of 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. ISU took 2 of 3 vs. Central Michigan over the weekend and improved to 12-6 overall.

Dakota Kotowski, Missouri State
Kotowski made two starts in RF this past weekend vs. Oklahoma and went 2 for 5. Missouri State however lost 2 of 3 and fell to 5-13 overall.

Andrew Wilhite, Minnesota
Wilhite went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s this past weekend in one start vs. Long Beach State. Minnesota got back on track winning 2 of 3 vs. Long Beach State to improve to 5-12 overall on the year.

Chase Stanke, Minnesota
Stanke got his 1st collegiate hit vs. Long Beach State this past weekend. Minnesota took 2 of 3 vs. Long Beach State and improved to 5-12 overall.

Travis Upp, IPFW
Upp collected 3 hits this past weekend with a triple and 2 RBI’s but IPFW got swept by Oral Roberts to fall to 4-14 overall on the year.

Trey Torain, George Washington
Torain went 1 for 1 with and RBI single this past week they won both midweek games and took 2 of 3 from Iona this weekend to improve to 11-7 overall.

Austin Blazevic, SEMO
Blazevic collected a big 2 RBI’s in the midweek games before getting hurt and being out indefinitely. SEMO Lost both midweek games and lost 2 of 3 vs. SIUE over the weekend to fall to 11-9 overall and 2-4 in the OVC. On the year, Blazevic is hitting .306 with 4 doubles, a triple, 2 homers and 17 RBI’s.

Mike Shereyk, SIUE
Shereyk made two relief appearances this past week going a total of 3.2 innings giving up only 1 run on 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. SIUE took 2 of 3 vs. SEMO on the weekend to improve to 6-10 overall and 3-3 in the OVC.

Conner Tomasic, Purdue
Tomasic made two relief appearances this past week going a total of 2  innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 2. Purdue continues to struggle as they lost to Milwaukee and Indiana State in the midweek games and lost 2 of 3 vs. Jacksonville State over the weekend to fall to 4-14 overall.

Trey Schramm, Xavier
Schramm picked up a win in relief this past weekend, tossing 2 innings vs. Grand Canyon giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2. Xavier lost 3 of 4 vs. Grand Canyon and once to New Mexico State to fall to 6-12 overall.

Peyton Isaacson, Saint Leo

Isaacson was explosive again this week at the dish, going 6 for 17, hitting .353 with a double and 5 RBI’s. Saint Leo beat Purdue Northwest but got swept by #2 ranked Tampa to fall to 14-10 overall. On the year, Isaacson is hitting .323 with 6 doubles, a triple, 5 homers and 24 RBI’s.

Ryan Fish, UIS
Fish went 3 for 5 with an RBI as UIS beat Truman State and lost 2 of 3 vs. UW-Parkside and are now 13-4-1 overall. UIS is now the 4th ranked team in the country in Division 2.

Louis Niemerg, Maryville
Niemerg picked up a win on the mound vs. William Jewell tossing a complete 7 inning game. Niemerg gave up only 2 runs off 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 1. Niemerg also collected 4 hits with a homer, two doubles and 7 RBI’s over the weekend to help Maryville sweep William Jewell and improve to 8-10 overall.

Anthony Rios, Lewis
Rios collected 3 hits over the weekend with a homer, a double and 4 RBI’s. Lewis lost all 5 games this past week and got swept by Southern Indiana to fall to 7-9 overall.

Zach Girard, Wayne State
Girard went 3 for 9, hitting .333 with 2 RBI’s this past week to win all 5 games and improve to 14-3 overall.

Kolton Rominski, Hillsdale
Rominski pitched twice this past week. In his start vs. Oakland City, Rominski got a no-decision tossing 6 innings giving up 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 6. Rominski got the win in relief vs. Findlay over the weekend tossing 3 innings giving up 1 run off 3 hits while striking out 1. Hillsdale is now 6-9 overall on the year.

Justin Kelly, Wayne State
Kelly collected 4 hits this past week with an RBI. Wayne State won all five games vs. different opponents to improve to 14-3 overall.

Austin Butts, Transylvania

Butts went off this past week, going 8 for 17, hitting .471 with 5 doubles, a triple and 10 RBI’s. Transylvania went 2-5 on the week in games to fall to 6-9 overall.

Tyler Woynerowski, Benedictine
Woynerowski went 6 for 16 this past week, hitting .375 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Benedictine is 3-4 to start the year.

Tommy Duddleston, Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Duddleston went 6 for 18, hitting .333 with a double and an RBI to help his team go 3-2 this week in Florida to start the season.

Nate Tholl, Webster
Tholl went 4 for 13, hitting .308 with a double and 4 RBI’s to help Webster win 4 of 5 games this past week and improve to 10-3 overall and are currently ranked 15th nationally.

Kevin Davis, Olney Central CC

Davis got the win this past weekend on the bump, throwing a complete game 9 inning shutout vs. Lakeland CC. Davis gave up only 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7 in his efforts. Olney Central is 11-3 overall on the year.

Ashton Creal, John A. Logan CC
Creal went 4 for 11, hitting .364 this past weekend with a double. John A. Logan is now 17-4 overall on the year.

Michael Bieterman, Heartland CC
Bieterman went 4 for 13, hitting .308 with 2 RBI’s this past week. Heartland is now 11-3 overall to start the season.

Andrew Zapka, Heartland CC
Zapka picked up two wins this past week. In the 1st win, Zapka went 5 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9. In his 2nd win, Zapka threw 4 innings giving up 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6.  Heartland is 11-3 overall on the year.

Marius Balandis, Iowa Western CC
Balandis made one relief appearance this past week picking up the save vs. Des Moines Area CC. Balandis went 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. Iowa Western won all four games vs. Des Moines Area CC to improve to 10-4 overall.

Malcolm Grady, Campbellsville

Grady got the win vs. Indiana Southeast tossing 5 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Campbellsville won 6 of 7 games this week to improve to 12-9 overall.

Angel Sandoval, Saint Francis
Sandoval picked up the win vs. Indiana South Bend this past week, tossing 7 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 8. Saint Francis won all five games this past week to improve 9-11 overall.

Michael Kruse, Benedictine (KS)
Kruse picked up a win vs. Mid America Nazarene this past week tossing 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and 6 walks while striking out 5. Benedictine is now 12-3 overall on the year.

Michael Farnan, Saint Xavier
Farnan went 3 for 11 this past weekend with 2 RBI’s as Saint Xavier swept Roosevelt to improve to 12-9 overall.
