Week 6: MLB/MiLB Alumni Roundup
Paul DeJong continues to be one of the Top hitting shortstops in the MLB, and Jeremy Rhoades has two scoreless relief appearances in Triple A.
Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals
DeJong continues to be one of the hottest hitters in the big leagues, as he went 7 for 23 this past week, hitting .304 with a homer, tow doubles and two RBI's. The Cardinals won 3 of 4 against Washington and lost all 4 to the Cubs this past week to fall back to 20-14 overall and 2nd place in the NL Central Division. DeJong is hitting .336 on the year with a .590 slugging percentage, along with 14 doubles, 6 homers and 15 RBI's.
Tanner Roark, Cincinnati Reds
Roark made two starts this past week, getting a no-decision in one game and a win in the other. Roark threw a total of 10.1 innings in his two starts giving up 6 runs off 8 hits and 6 walks while striking out 10. On the year, Roark is 2-1 with a 3.82 ERA in 7 starts, and the Reds are 14-20 overall.
MiLB Alumni Roundup:
Jeremy Rhoades, Salt Lake Bees, Triple A (Affiliate of the LA Angels)
Rhoades had two scoreless outings in relief this past week. In total he threw 3 innings giving up 0 runs off 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 1.
Zach Lewis, Winston-Salem Dash, High A (Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox)
Lewis made one start this past week getting a no-decision but throwing well, going 4.2 innings giving up only 1 run off 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Lewis owns a 2-1 record with a 5.18 ERA and has 25 strikeouts in 24.1 innings of work.
Will Kincanon, Winston-Salem Dash, High A (Affiliate to the Chicago White Sox)
Kincanon made two relief appearances this past week, tossing a total of 2.1 innings giving up 0 runs off 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Kincanon owns a 1.64 ERA on the year and has 15 strikeouts in 11 innings of work.
Sean Hjelle, Augusta GreenJackets, Low A (Affiliate to the San Francisco Giants)
Hjelle got a no-decision in his one start this past week, tossing 4 innings giving up 0 runs off 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Hjelle owns a 3.04 ERA on the year and has 28 strikeouts in 26. 2 innings of work.
