MLB Roundup:

Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals

DeJong went 0 for 4 in the finale of the Twins, two-game series where the Cardinals won both. DeJong caught fire in the Padres 4-game series going 6 for 17, hitting .353 with another homerun and 4 RBI’s. The Cardinals split with the Padres and are now 22-16 overall and 2nd in the NL Central. DeJong is hitting .262 on the year with 8 homers, 7 doubles and 18 RBI’s.

Tanner Roark, Washington Nationals

Roark made one start this past week vs. Arizona getting a no-decision for his efforts. Roark pitched really well going 7 innings giving up only one run on 4 hits while striking out 4. The Nationals are now 24-18 overall and are only 2 games out of 1st in the NL East. Roark is 2-3 with a 3.33 ERA.

MiLB Roundup:

Rob Scahill, Charlotte Knights (Affiliate of Chicago White Sox) Triple A

Scahill made 3 relief appearances this past week. In total he went 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk. Scahill continues to be a solid out of the bullpen as he lowered his ERA to 2.81 and is 2-1 with two saves.

Casey Crosby, Rochester Red Wings (Affiliate of Minnesota Twins) Triple A

Crosby made two relief appearances this past week. The first one came with the Triple A Rochester team, where he went 1 inning giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1.  Scahill’s 2nd appearance of the week, came when he got moved down to the Double A, Chattanooga Lookouts. With them, Scahill got a win in relief going 1 inning giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 3 walks. Scahill currently owns a 2.84 ERA this year in the minors.

Ryan Borucki, Buffalo Bisons (Affiliate of Toronto Blue Jays) Triple A

Borucki made one start this past week, taking the loss going 6 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. Borucki on they year is 2-4 with a 4.13 ERA.

Tyler Ladendorf, Buffalo Bisons (Affiliate of Toronto Blue Jays) Triple A

Ladendorf got assigned to the Buffalo Bisons from extended Spring Training this past week, making two starts at shortstop for his new club. Ladendorf went 0 for 6 in his two starts but is expected to make a big impact on the club now that he is up.

Jeremy Rhoades, Mobile BayBears (Affiliate of Los Angeles Angels) Double A


Rhoades was dominate once again in his two appearances in relief this past week. In his 1st appearance he got the win in relief going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and 1 walk. In his 2nd relief appearance, Rhoades went 2.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. Rhoades is now 3-0 out of the bullpen with a 2.11 ERA this year.

Karch Kowalczyk, Tulsa Drillers (Affiliate of Los Angeles Dodgers) Double A

Kowalczyk got placed on the 7-day disabled list this past week.

Blake Hickman, Winston-Salem Dash (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) High A

Hickman made three relief appearances this past week, pitching very well again. Hickman went a total of 5.1 innings in his 3 outings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 5 walks while striking out 5. Hickman has a 2.55 ERA on the year.

Adam Walton, Visalia Rawhide (Affiliate to Arizona Diamondbacks) High A

Walton collected a hit in every game he played in this past week. Walton was on fire offensively going 5 for 9, hitting .555 with a double and 2 RBI’s on the week. Walton is now hitting .240 with 3 doubles, 2 homers and 11 RBI’s on the year.

Jason Goldstein, Stockton Ports (Affiliate to Oakland Athletics) High A

Goldstein got activated by the Stockton Ports this past week, but hasn’t got back into game action yet.

Ryan Koziol, Augusta GreenJackets (Affiliate to San Francisco Giants) Low A

Koziol made two relief appearances this past week. Koziol went 1.1 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits and 1 walk. Then Koziol turned around and went 2 innings in his 2nd appearance giving up 0 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Koziol since coming back from surgery owns a 0.00 ERA on the year.

Danny Mayer, Lakewood BlueClaws (Affiliate to Philadelphia Phillies) Low A

Mayer had a rough week this past week going 0 for 12. Mayer looks to bounce back this following week with his new club.

Zach Lewis, Kannapolis Intimidators (Affiliate to Chicago White Sox) Low A

Lewis made two relief appearances this past week. In his 1st appearance, Lewis collected a save going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits. In his 2nd appearance, Lewis collected a win in relief going 3.2 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Lewis on the year is 1-0 with 2 saves and a 3.20 ERA.

Independent Baseball

Anthony Ray, Pennsylvania Road Warriors (Independent) Atlantic League

Ray was held hitless this past week, up until yesterday where he broke out of it going 1 for 4 with an RBI.
