Week #6 Top Tier Alumni Roundup: Top Performances in College Baseball
Danny Mayer, Pacific
Mayer had a huge offensive output this past week, going 5 for 15 hitting a cool .333. His offensive outburst helped them beat San Jose State in the midweek game and helped his Tigers take 2 of 3 from Pepperdine on the weekend. Of those 5 hits, 2 were bombs, 1 was a double and he tallied 8 RBI’s on the week. Mayer now leads the West Coast Conference with 7 home runs on the year.
Shane Peisker, John Logan CC
Peisker put up huge offensive numbers this past week, going 6 for 12 with 2 home runs, a double and 8 RBI’s. This helped the Vols sweep Vincennes on the weekend.
Chris Myjak, Butler
Myjak collected his 7th save of the year against Lewis in the midweek game, going 0.2 innings striking out 2 of 3 batters he faced. He also collected a win on the weekend vs. Ohio in relief going 3 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits, 1 walk while striking out 3. The Bulldogs swept Ohio on the weekend.
Jesse Forestell, Western Michigan
Forestell went 6 for 15 this past week hitting .400 with a double and an RBI helping the Broncos take 2 of 3 from Miami (OH) this weekend.
Connor Riley, USC-Aiken
Riley threw a gem getting a no-decision going 7.2 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, 2 walks while striking out a staggering 13 hitters. However, USC-Aiken lost 2 of 3 vs. Lander this past weekend.
Louis Niemerg, Maryville
Niemerg went 8 for 12 this past week, hitting an impressive .666 with a double and an RBI. Maryville split with McKendree during the week and split with University of Missouri-Saint Louis on the weekend.
Neil Lambert, Triton CC
Lambert went 6 for 12 hitting .500 this past weekend with a double and 2 RBI’s. The Trojans won all three games this past weekend and he collected hits in every game.
Michael Kruse, Benedictine (KS)
Kruse went 1-1 with a double in his one pinch hit appearance on the weekend with 2 RBI’s. He also threw a complete game shutout to get the win as well giving up only 6 hits while striking out 5. The Ravens are 19-12 on the year and 8-2 in conference play.
Peyton Isaacson, Coastal Carolina
Isaacson collected a hit in every game this past weekend going 4 for 11 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. His offensive numbers helped Coastal Carolina sweep Arkansas State on the weekend.
Zach Lewis, Wichita State
Lewis threw a really good game vs. #3 ranked Texas Tech but got the Loss in his efforts. Lewis went 7 innings only giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, 1 walk while striking out an impressive 10 hitters.
Brad Margolin, Wash U
Margolin moved to 5-0 on the year picking up another win this past weekend vs. Illinois-Wesleyan. He went 7 innings in the start giving up only one run on 5 hits while striking out 6.
Ben Browdy, Wash U
Browdy continues to stay hot at the dish collecting hits in all three games this past week going 5 for 14, hitting .357 with a triple, 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Wash U beat Greenville and Illinois-Wesleyan twice this past week.
Quinn Snarskis, Saint Joseph’s (IN)
Snarskis moved to 5-0 on the year picking up a win this past weekend going 6 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 3 hits, 4 walks while striking out 5.
Austin Blazevic, Kaskaskia CC
Blazevic collected hits in every game this past week, going 5 for 13 hitting .385 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s.
Malcolm Grady, Wabash Valley CC
Grady made 2 relief appearances this past week going 2.2 innings in his 1st appearance giving up 0 runs on 2 hits while striking out 3. In his 2nd appearance he picked up the win in relief going 3 innings giving up 0 runs on one hit while striking out 2.
Trey Schramm, Xavier
Schramm made one relief appearance this past weekend going 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk while striking out 2. Xavier won 2 of 3 vs. Illinois State.
Ryan Fish, Jefferson CC
Fish went 3 for 8 on the weekend, hitting .375 to help Jefferson take both games vs. North Central Missouri CC.
Collin Clayton, John Logan CC
Clayton went 3 for 7 on the weekend, hitting .428 with a double and an RBI. John Logan swept Vincennes on the weekend.
Kolton Rominski, Hillsdale
Rominski got the win on the weekend going 8 innings vs. Ashland. He gave up 2 runs on only 4 hits, 1 walk while striking out 7. Hillsdale took 3 of 4 games from Ashland this past weekend.
Willie Bourbon, Northwestern
Bourbon collected 5 hits this past week but they lost a midweek game vs. UIC and got swept by Indiana on the weekend. Of the 5 hits, he collected a homerun, a double and 3 RBI’s.
Cam Fowler, Nebraska-Omaha
Fowler got his 1st collegiate win in relief this past weekend vs. IPFW going 3 innings giving up one run on 2 hits, 1 walk while striking out 4. Nebraska-Omaha swept IPFW on the weekend.
Cooper Johnson, Mississippi
Johnson went 2 for 6 in the two games he started this past weekend vs. #19 ranked, Kentucky, hitting .333 with a double and an RBI. Ole Miss, who was ranked #11 lost 2 of 3 vs. Kentucky this past weekend.
Brian Musielak, Concordia-Chicago
Musielak went 3.1 innings in his relief appearance vs. Webster giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 2.
Marty Napleton, Saint Joseph’s (IN)
Napleton got 5 hits this past weekend, helping the Pumas split against UIndy.
Brett Newberg, Austin Peay
Newberg got 2 pinch hit appearances this past week. He went 2-2 with a homerun, a double and 3 RBI’s. His 3-run homer helped them beat Arkansas State during the midweek but they got swept vs. Tennessee Tech on the weekend.
Joe Santoro, Army
Santoro got his 1st collegiate win, striking out the last batter he faced in the top of the 9th. Army went on to rally in the bottom of the 9th to score 4 and give Joe his 1st win vs. Harvard.
Mitch Vogrin, Illinois State
Vogrin got the one save in their only win this weekend vs. Xavier going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 1.
Jack Landwehr, Illinois State
Landwehr got the win in relief this past weekend going 2.1 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits and one walk.
Dalton Parker, Purdue
Parker got the win in relief in their only win on the weekend vs. Iowa, going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 1 hit with 1 walk.
Zack Wade, DePauw
Wade went 2 for 4 with a two-run home run in their 1st game of their spring trip in Florida this past Sunday vs. Keuka.
Luke Johnson, Bucknell
