Week #8: Division I College Baseball, Top Tier Alumni Roundup:
Player of the Week:
Cam Minacci, RHP, Wake Forest
This is the second time that Minacci has one Player of the Week honors in our D1 College Baseball Roundups. Minacci did nothing but get 3 saves this past week in 4 games. Not a bad week as Wake Forest beat Elon in the midweek game and swept Duke over the weekend to improve to 25-7 overall on the year. Minacci was truly amazing on the bump as he threw a total of 4 scoreless innings giving up 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. He earned 3 saves with one coming in the Elon game and two more over the weekend vs. ACC foe, Duke. On the year, Minacci has a 1.05 ERA in 25.2 innings of work out of the bullpen with 38 big strikeouts and is holding opponents to a .138 batting average against him.

Cam Redding, Saint Louis
Redding was hard to get out this past week as he collected hits in all four games he played in, going 9 for 19, hitting .473 with two doubles and 3 RBI's. Saint Louis lost to SIUE in the midweek game but took 2 of 3 vs. Richmond to improve to 17-13 overall on the year.
Antonio Brown, Mercer
Brown continues to turn heads every week as he is a staple in the lineup for the Bears as he collected a hit in every game this past weekend going 4 for 8, hitting .500 with a double and two stolen bases. Mercer swept the Citadel and they are now 27-5 overall on the year.
Dakota Kotowski, Missouri State
Kotowski continues to hit balls into orbit week in and week out, as this week wouldn't be any different as he went 4 for 13, hitting .308 with another homer and 6 RBI's. Kotowski now has 14 bombs on the year but his power at the plate still wasn't enough as Missouri State got swept by 24th ranked Dallas Baptist over the weekend and fell 14-13 overall on the year.
Jeremy Gaines, Texas Southern
Gaines continues to have a great year at the plate as he went 7 for 18, hitting .389 this past week with two more doubles and an RBI. Texas Southern however lost to Lamar in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 to Prairie View A&M this past weekend to fall to 15-15 overall on the year.
Scott Youngbrandt, Saint Louis
Youngbrandt earned another win over the weekend vs. Richmond as he tossed 6 innings giving up only 2 runs off 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. Youngbrandt is now 4-1 on the year as Saint Louis took 2 of 3 from Richmond to improve to 17-13 overall on the year.
Blake Wright, Clemson
Wright continues to be on a hot streak at the plate for the Tigers as he went 5 for 16, hitting .313 this past week with another homer, a double and an RBI. Clemson beat 10th ranked Georgia in the midweek game but got swept by 6th ranked Notre Dame over the weekend to move to 19-12 overall on the year.
Paul Bergstrom, Creighton
Bergstrom made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. Georgetown where he went 1.1 scoreless innings giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk. Creighton lost to Kansas State in the midweek game and swept Georgetown over the weekend to improve to 18-8 overall on the year.
Keaton Rice, Bradley
Rice went 3 for 10, hitting .300 this past week with an RBI. Bradley lost to Iowa in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 vs. Wright State over the weekend to fall to 9-17 overall on the year.
Hunter Mink, USF
Mink earned his 6th save of the year this past weekend vs. Tulane when he went 4 innings of relief giving up only 2 runs off 2 hits and 0 walks while striking out 3. USF lost 2 of 3 to Tulane and lost to North Florida as well in the midweek game to fall to 19-13 overall on the year.
Conner Tomasic, Michigan State
Tomasic got a start this past weekend vs. Ohio State and earned a no-decision after tossing 6.2 strong innings giving up 2 earned runs off 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3. Michigan State lost 2 of 3 vs. Ohio State over the weekend and fell to 13-15 overall on the year.
Kellen Sarver, Illinois
Sarver collected 4 hits this past week with a double and 2 RBI's as Illinois lost to Illinois State in the midweek game while winning 2 of 3 vs. Iowa over the weekend to move to 15-14 overall on the year.
Bryce Barnett, Xavier
Barnett made two relief appearances this past week throwing a total of 2.1 innings giving up 0 earned runs off 2 hits and 0 walks while striking out 2. Xavier beat Miami (OH) in the midweek game but lost 2 of 3 to Seton Hall over the weekend to move to 16-17 overall on the year.
Ray Sass, Brown
Sass collected 4 hits this past week with an RBI as they beat Holy Cross in the midweek game but got swept by Columbia over the weekend to fall to 6-17 overall on the year.
Danny Doligale, Illinois
Doligale collected 4 hits this past week with two doubles as Illinois took 2 of 3 from Iowa over the weekend to improve to 15-14 overall on the year.
Stephen Hill, Liberty
Hill collected 3 hits this past week with a homer and 3 RBI's as Liberty lost to 3rd ranked Virginia in the midweek game and swept FGCU over the weekend to improve to 20-10 overall on the year.
Michael Oh, Charlotte
Oh made two relief appearances this past week for the 49ers as he tossed a total of 3 inning giving up 2 runs off 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7. Charlotte however got beat by Winthrop in the midweek game and got swept by 18th ranked Southern Mississippi to fall to 17-14 overall on the year.
Isaiah Thompson, Indiana State
Thompson went 1 for 3 this past week in a start and a pinch hit role for the Sycamores as they beat Purdue in the midweek game and swept Valpo to improve to 19-8 overall on the year.
