Here are the highlights from Week #8 in college baseball at the D2/D3, NAIA and JUCO level by our Top Tier Alums:

Top Tier Alumni Player of the Week:

Mitch Owens
, 1B/OF, Augustana (D3)

Owens continued to dominant at the D3 level at the plate with having multiple hits in every game this past week, going 10 for 17, hitting a staggering .588 with 2 RBI's. Augustana beat North Park in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 vs. Illinois Wesleyan to move to 19-5 overall on the year. Owens is leading the Vikings in batting average hitting .363 on the year.

Will Gibbs
, INF, Olney Central (JUCO)

Gibbs had a great week at the plate going 9 for 20, hitting .450 with a triple and 3 RBI's. Olney Central split with Southwestern Illinois and beat Shawnee twice to improve to 23-13 overall on the year. 

Angel Sandoval, RHP, St. Francis (NAIA)

Sandoval picked up two wins on the mound this past week vs. Trinity International and Roosevelt which earned him CCAC Pitcher of the Week honor. Sandoval went a total of 14 innings between the two games only allowing 2 runs off 13 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9. St. Francis swept Trinity and Calumet St. Joseph along with winning 2 of 3 vs. Roosevelt to move to 17-12 overall on the year. 

Eric Lundell, RHP, Concordia-St. Paul (D2)

Lundell made two relief appearances this past week. Lundell picked up a win vs. Bemidji State going 2 scoreless innings off 0 hits and 0 walks while striking out 1. Lundell threw another 1.1 innings vs. Augustana over the weekend giving up 0 runs off 1 hit. Concordia-St. Paul beat Bemidji State twice but got swept by Augustana and are now 11-17 overall on the year. 

Brett Taucher, RHP, Quincy (D2)

Taucher made one appearance over the weekend in the series finale vs. William Jewell going 3 innings giving up 0 runs off 2 hits and 0 walks while striking out 2. Quincy swept William Jewell and are now 21-6 overall on the year. 

Anthony Rios, C, Lewis (D2)

Rios went 4 for 10, hitting .400 with 4 RBI's this past weekend vs. Southern Indiana. Lewis however lost 3 of 4 vs. Southern Indiana and are now 15-13 overall on the year. Rios is hitting .304 on the year with 7 doubles, 2 homers and 20 RBI's. 

Nick Baldassano, INF, Aurora (D3)

Baldassano went 6 for 18, hitting .333 this past week with two doubles and collected 4 RBI's. Aurora beat Rockford twice and took 3 of 4 vs. IIT to improve to 21-3 overall on the year. 

Robert Chayka, OF, Kentucky Wesleyan (D2)

Chayka went 5 for 16, hitting .313 this past week with a homer, a double and an RBI. Kentucky Wesleyan lost to Southern Indiana and won 3 of 4 vs. Hillsdale over the weekend to improve to 18-6 overall. 

Mitch Farris, LHP/OF, Wingate (D2)

Farris made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. Lander to finish off their regular season. Farris went 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs off 1 hit and 1 walk with 1 strikeout. Wingate beat Anderson twice and Lander to finish the regular season 26-11 overall. The SAC tournament starts next week. Farris hit .273 on the year and held a 3.90 ERA in 12 appearances on the mound in 27.2 innings of work with 32 strikeouts. 

Austin Divello, RHP, Coe (D3)

Divello made two relief appearances this past weekend vs. Simpson. In total he went 4.1 innings giving up 0 earned runs off 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Coe swept Simpson and improved to 22-3 overall on the year. 

Conner Tomasic, RHP/INF, South Suburban (JUCO)

Tomasic collected 5 hits this past week with a double and 4 RBI's. South Suburban split with Triton and beat Parkland, Waubonsee and Illinois Valley to improve to 27-12 overall on the year. 

Joel Sarver, RHP, Northwest Florida State (JUCO)

Sarver made one relief appearance this past week vs. Pensacola where he went 1.2 innings giving up 0 runs off 1 hit and 0 walks while striking out 1. Northwest Florida State beat Pensacola and Chipola both twice this past week to improve to 25-12 overall. 

Elias Kuhns, OF, Union

Kuhns went 3 for 6 this past weekend with a homer and 2 RBI's. Union split with RIT to move to 4-4 overall on the year. 

Dave Navarro, C, Illinois Institute of Technology

Navarro collected a hit in every game he played this past week with a 3 doubles and 4 RBI's. IIT however lost 3 of 4 vs. Aurora to fall to 9-5 overall on the year. 

Broghan O'Connor, OF, Wash U (D3)

O'Connor went 2 for 6 with a double this past weekend as Wash U swept Spaulding to improve to 21-1 overall on the year. 

Luke Napleton, C, Quincy (D2)

Napleton got his 1st start behind the dish this past weekend and went 2 for 2 with two doubles and 4 RBI's as Quincy swept William Jewell to move to 21-6 overall on the year. 

Tommy Duddleston, INF, Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Duddleston collected 4 hits this past week with a double and 3 RBI's to help his squad sweep Wisconsin-LaCrosse and improve to 16-3 overall on the year. 

Brock Bevil, RHP, Benedictine (D3)

Bevil made one relief appearance this past weekend vs. Rockford, going 1 inning giving up 0 runs on 0 hits and 0 walks while striking out 2. Benedictine swept Rockford and improved to 17-6 overall on the year. 

Matt Kaleta, OF, College of Dupage (JUCO)

Kaleta went 2 for 4 this past week as COD split with Joliet, beat Roosevelt and lost twice to Bryant & Stratton to move to 13-17 overall on the year. 

Nick Villasenor, LHP, St. Francis (NAIA)

Villasenor made two starts this past week, picking up a win vs. Calumet St. Joseph and a loss vs. Roosevelt. In the two starts Villasenor threw a combined 13 innings giving up 5 earned runs off 13 hits and 3 walks while striking out 16. St. Francis is now 17-12 overall on the year. 

Nick Talarico, INF, Case Western (D3)

Talarico collected 3 hits this past weekend with a triple, a double and 2 RBI's. Case Western split with Dennison this weekend and improved to 14-8 overall on the year. 

Will Wirt, C, Truman State (D2)

Wirt went 1 for 3 in his one start this past weekend with an RBI vs. Southwest Baptist. Truman State split with Southwest Baptist and moved to 4-24 overall on the year. 

TJ Byrd, OF, Young Harris (D2)

Byrd went 2 for 7, with two doubles and two RBI's this past weekend. Young Harris got swept by USC-Aiken this past weekend and are now 18-13 overall.
