Week #9 in College Baseball
Top Performances of Top Tier Alumni: Bobby Seymour, Wake Forest collects hits in every game this past week, hitting .438 with a homer and 11 RBI's.


Bobby Seymour, Wake Forest 

Seymour collected a hit in every game this past week, having a huge day on Saturday vs. Pittsburgh where he went 4 for 5 with a homer and 7 RBI's. Seymour went 7 for 16 on the week, hitting .438 with a homer and 11 RBI's. Wake Forest beat High Point in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 vs. Pittsburgh over the weekend to improve to 21-16 overall and 9-9 in the ACC. Seymour is putting up ridiculous offensive numbers for the Demon Deacons this year, hitting .373 with 10 doubles, 6 homers and 53 RBI's. 

Scott Youngbrandt, Saint Louis
Youngbrandt went off at the plate this past week, collecting multiple hits in four games this past week, along with blasting his 1st collegiate home run. Youngbrandt went 7 for 14, hitting .500 with a homer, 3 doubles and 6 RBI's. Saint Louis beat SEMO in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 vs. Saint Bonaventure this past weekend to improve to 15-19 overall and 4-5 in the Atlantic 10. 

Ryan Hampe, UIC
Hampe had another unbelievable week this past week, having multi-hit games in every game. Hampe went 10 for 18, hitting .556 with 4 doubles and 8 RBI's as UIC beat NIU in the midweek game and swept Northern Kentucky over the weekend. UIC is now 16-13 overall, 10-4 in the Horizon and Hampe is 3rd in the country in batting average, hitting .453 on the year with 9 doubles, a homer and 22 RBI's. 

Jack Carberry, Western Illinois
Carberry picked up his 5th win of the season vs. IPFW this past weekend. Carberry went 6 innings giving up 0 runs off 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. The Leathernecks swept IPFW this past weekend and improved to 14-19 overall and 8-7 in the Summit. Carberry has a 4.91 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 40.1 innings of work.

Patrick Martin, UIC
Martin earned his 1st win of the season in the series finale vs. Northern Kentucky tossing a career-high 5.2 innings in his start. Martin earned Horizon League Pitcher of the Week for his efforts giving up only 1 run off 4 hits while striking out 6. UIC swept Northern Kentucky over the weekend and are now 16-13 overall. Martin has a 4.15 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 21.2 innings of work this year. 

Matt Burch, Old Dominion 
Burch was really good at the dish this past week, going 7 for 19, hitting .368 with two doubles and 4 RBI's. ODU beat VCU in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 vs. UTSA over the weekend to improve to 21-14 overall and 5-10 in C-USA. Burch is hitting .301 on the year with 9 doubles, 20 RBI's and 13 stolen bases.

Brett Newberg, Austin Peay
Newberg got a win in relief this past week going 3.1 innings giving up 0 runs off 3 hits while striking out 6. Austin Peay beat Evansville and took 2 of 3 from Morehead State over the weekend to improve to 18-16 overall and 11-7 in the OVC. Newberg is 2-1 as a reliever with 5.72 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 28.1 innings of work. 

Cooper Johnson, Ole Miss
Johnson went 4 for 11, hitting .364 with a double. Ole Miss lost 2 of 3 vs. Kentucky over the weekend and fell to 25-12 overall and 9-6 in the SEC. Johnson is hitting .303 on the year with 8 doubles, 4 homers and 17 RBI's along with throwing out 14 runners behind the dish. 

Willie Bourbon, Northwestern
Bourbon collected hits in all four games this past week, going 6 for 16, hitting .375 with a homer, two doubles and 3 RBI's. Northwestern beat UW-Milwaukee in the midweek game and lost 2 of 3 vs. Maryland to fall to 16-16 overall and 5-4 in the Big Ten. Bourbon is hitting .270 on the year with 7 doubles, 4 homers and 26 RBI's. 

Cheorkee LeBeau, Oakland
LeBeau went 5 for 14, hitting .357 with a double and 2 RBI's this past week. Oakland only earned one win this past week vs. Eastern Michigan and they fell to 8-24 overall and 6-9 in the Horizon. LeBeau is hitting .264 as a freshman at Oakland. 

Robby McGaha, USC-Upstate
McGaha went 4 for 7 in three games this past weekend, hitting .571 with a double and 2 RBI's. USC-Upstate got swept over the weekend by Presbyterian and fell to 16-20 overall. McGaha is hitting .276 on the year.

Jesse Forestell, Western Michigan
Forestell collected a hit in every game this past weekend, going 4 for 12, hitting .333 with a double. Western Michigan won 2 of 3 vs. Northern Illinois and improved to 11-21 overall and 4-6 in the MAC. 

Trey Schramm
, Xavier
Schramm made two relief appearances this past week, earning a save. Schramm threw 4 total innings giving up 0 runs off 2 hits while striking out 2. Xavier lost to Cincinnati and Wright State in the midweek games but then took 2 of 3 from St. Johns to improve to 14-22 overall and 5-1 in the Big East. 

Neil Lambert, Bowling Green
Lambert collected a hit in every game this past week, going 5 for 13, hitting .385 with three doubles and an RBI. Bowling Green beat IPFW in the midweek game but got swept by Miami (OH) over the weekend to fall to 12-19 overall and 5-7 in the MAC. Lambert is leading the team with a .347 average and 7 doubles. 

Mitch Vogrin
, Illinois State
Vogrin made two relief appearances this past week, throwing a total of 3.1 innings giving up 0 runs off 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5. ISU beat Illinois in the midweek game and swept Missouri State over the weekend to improve to 21-14 overall and 5-1 in the MVC. Vogrin has a 3.94 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 16 innings of work. 

Stephen Hill, Morehead State
Hill continued to stay hot this past week, going 7 for 20, hitting .350 with two doubles and 4 RBI's. Morehead State beat Alabama A&M twice in the midweek games and they lost 2 of 3 vs. Austin Peay over the weekend to go 24-13 overall and 9-6 in the OVC. Hill is hitting .319 on the year with 3 homers and 23 RBI's. 

Brian Schimmer
, Bradley
Schrimmer made one relief appearance this past week, tossing 2 innings giving up 0 runs off 1 hit and 1 walk. Bradley beat Western Illinois and Iowa in the midweek games and swept Southern Illinois over the weekend to improve to 22-10 overall and 3-3 in the MVC. Schrimmer is 2-0 with a save, an ERA of 1.20 and has 13 strikeouts in 15 innings of work.

Kellen Sarver, Illinois
Sarver went 3 for 10, hitting .300 with an RBI this past week. Illinois lost to ISU in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Minnesota over the weekend and are now 22-12 overall and 3-6 in the Big Ten. Sarver is hitting .306 for the Fighting Illini.

Keaton Rice, Bradley
Rice went 3 for 10, hitting .300 with two double and 3 RBI's this past week. Bradley won all five games this past week to improve to 22-10 overall. Rice is now hitting .257 with 8 doubles on the year. 

Connor Tomasic, Purdue
Tomasic made 2 relief appearances this past week, going a total of 4.1 innings giving up 1 run off 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1. Purdue lost 2 of 3 vs. Iowa this past weekend and fell to 11-23 overall and 5-6 in the Big Ten. Tomasic has a 2.93 ERA as a freshman. 

Brady Miller
, Western Michigan
Miller got his 2nd win of the year vs. Northern Illinois this past weekend, tossing 5.2 innings giving up 2 earned runs off 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4. Western Michigan won 2 of 3 vs. NIU and improved to 11-21 overall. Miller is 2-1 with a 4.25 ERA and has 27 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. 

Quinn Snarskis, Illinois
Snarskis made his 1st appearance in about 3 to 4 weeks in relief vs. Minnesota this past weekend. Snarskis went 1 inning giving up 0 runs off 0 hits while striking out 1. Illinois took 2 of 3 from Minnesota and improved to 22-12 overall.

Robert Kametas
, Creighton
Kametas made two relief appearances this past week, collecting a win vs. Butler in one of them. Kametas went a total of 3.1 innings giving up 2 runs off 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5. Creighton beat Nebraska in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from Butler over the weekend to improve to 19-8 overall and 2-1 in the Big East.

Mark DiLuia, Maryland
DiLuia picked up two wins in relief this past week vs. William & Mary and Northwestern in the finale. DiLuia went a total of 6.2 innings in the two wins giving up 2 earned runs off 6 hits and 4 walks while striking out 6. Maryland beat William & Mary, lost to West Virginia in the midweek games and took 2 of 3 from Northwestern over the weekend to improve to 18-17 overall and 5-4 in the Big Ten. DiLuia is 2-1 on the year with a 5.24 ERA and has 19 strikeouts in 22.1 innings of work.

Ryan Howe, Purdue
Howe collected 3 hits this past weekend with a double and an RBI, but Purdue lost 2 of 3 vs. Iowa to fall to 11-23 overall. 

Cam Redding, Saint Louis
Redding collected 3 hits this past weekend as SLU beat SEMO in the midweek game and took 2 of 3 from the Bonnies over the weekend to improve to 15-19 overall. Redding is leading the team hitting .338 on the year as a freshman.

Eric Giltz
, SIUE
Giltz collected 3 hits this past week with a double and an RBI as they swept UT-Martin and improved to 12-21 overall and 8-10 in the OVC. Giltz is hitting .303 on the year with 4 doubles and 11 RBI's. 

Travis Upp, IPFW
Upp collected 3 hits this past weekend as they got swept by Western Illinois and fell to 5-27 overall. 

Andrew Wilhite, Minnesota
Wilhite got two starts this past week, going 2 for 7 with a double and 2 RBI's. Minnesota lost 2 of 3 to Illinois over the weekend and fell to 15-18 overall and 7-5 in the Big Ten. Wilhite as a freshman is hitting .286 with 4 doubles, 2 homers and 11 RBI's.



Justin Kelly, Wayne State

Kelly for the 2nd week in a row is on a tear at the plate. Kelly went 6 for 12, hitting .500 this past week with 3 more homeruns and 6 RBI's. Wayne State swept the 6th ranked team in the nation, Ashland this past weekend and improved to 26-8 overall and 10-5 in the GLIAC. Kelly is hitting .296 on the year with 8 doubles, 7 homers and 38 RBI's. 

Anthony Rios, Lewis
Rios swung the bat really well this past week going 8 for 18, hitting .444 with 3 doubles and 5 RBI's. Lewis swept Rockhurst this past weekend and improved to 18-18 overall and 13-11 in the GLVC. Rios is hitting .277 on the year with 10 doubles, a homer and 19 RBI's. 

Peyton Isaacson, Saint Leo
Isaacson went 7 for 18, hitting .389 with two doubles and 4 RBI's this past week. However, Saint Leo lost to Valdosta State in the midweek and dropped 2 of 3 vs. Rollins over the weekend to fall to 18-20 overall. Isaacson earned a save in there only win this past weekend tossing an inning giving up 0 runs off 0 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. Isaacson on the year is hitting .329 with 11 doubles, 7 homers and 38 RBI's.

Louis Niemerg
, Maryville
Niemerg went 5 for 14, hitting .357 this past week with a double and 2 RBI's. Maryville lost 2 of 3 over the weekend vs. Drury and fell to 19-17 overall and 16-8 in the GLVC. Niemerg is hitting .289 on the year with 9 doubles, 5 homers and 35 RBI's. 



Nate Tholl, Webster

Tholl was on absolute fire at the plate this past weekend going 7 for 10, hitting .700 with a homer, two doubles and 4 RBI's. For having such an outstanding weekend, Tholl was selected to the D3baseball.com team of the week. Webster swept Iowa Wesleyan over the weekend to improve to 20-8 overall. Tholl is leading the team, hitting .364 with 10 doubles, 2 homers, 15 RBI's and 12 stolen bases. 

Gunnar Haskins, Augustana 
Haskins went 5 for 12 this past weekend, hitting .417 with 4 RBI's. Augustana swept Carthage over the weekend to improve to 20-5-1 overall. 

Brian Lyle
, University of Chicago
Lyle went 5 for 7 this past weekend with a triple and 5 RBI's to beat Grinnell College twice and improve them to 11-4 overall. Lyle is hitting .512 on the year. 

Elias Kuhns, Union
Kuhns went 8 for 21 this past week, hitting .381 with a homer, 3 doubles 3 RBI's. Union won all 6 games it played in this past week with a sweep over Bard College. Kuhns is hitting .379 this year with 8 doubles, 5 homers and 17 RBI's.

Tommy Duddleston, Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Duddleston went 7 for 19, hitting .368 this past week with a triple and 3 RBI's. Wisconsin Stevens Point won 3 of 4 vs. Finlandia and are now 13-11 overall. Duddleston is hitting .346 on the year. 

Ben Rosengard, University of Chicago
Rosengard made one start vs. Grinnell this past weekend, going 2 for 5 with and RBI. University of Chicago beat Grinnell twice to improve to 11-4 overall and Rosengard is hitting .333 on the year. 

Travis Hank, MIT
Hank made one relief appearance vs. #14 ranked, Babson this past weekend. Hank went 2 innings giving up 0 earned runs off 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4. MIT lost all five games this past week and fell to 13-12-1 overall. 

Tommy Nelsen, Wisconsin-LaCrosse
Nelsen got his 1st collegiate start in the field this past week, making the most of it going 3 for 4 vs. UW-Oshkosh with a triple and an RBI. Wisconsin-LaCrosse is 14-8 overall and Nelsen is hitting .333 in 15 at bats this year as a freshman.

Jack Anderson
, Kenyon 
Anderson got his 1st collegiate hit this past week vs. Hiram College, going 1 for 2 with a double. Kenyon is 18-9 overall on the year.



Vincent Massaglia, Illinois Central College

Massaglia continues to be an impossible out for ICC. Massaglia went 12 for 24 this past week, hitting .500 with 2 homers, 5 doubles and 11 RBI's. Massaglia is now on a 27-game hitting streak and is hitting .402 for the season with 12 doubles, 7 homers and 39 RBI's.

Garrett Goetz, Waubonsee Valley CC
Goetz went 10 for 17, hitting .588 this past week with a homer, 4 doubles and 6 RBI's. Waubonsee Valley CC lost 2 of 3 to Moraine Valley over the weekend and are 13-18 overall. Goetz is hitting .378 with 14 doubles, 2 triples, a homer and 19 RBI's. 

Sean Hebreard, Blackhawk CC
Hebreard went 6 for 14, hitting .429 this past weekend with a triple, a double and 4 RBI's. Blackhawk beat Highland twice and Illinois Valley twice to improve to 13-5 overall. 

Andrew Zapka, Heartland CC
Zapka got a win vs. Lincoln Land CC this past week going 6 innings giving up 0 runs off 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7. Heartland beat South Sub and swept Lincoln Land over the weekend to improve to 21-9 overall. Zapka has a 1.91 ERA and is 4-1 with 42 strikeouts in 33 innings of work.

Nick Villasenor, Blackhawk CC
Villasenor got a win this past week going 5 innings giving up 0 runs off 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Villasenor is now 3-1 with a 4.29 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 21 innings of work. Blackhawk is 13-5 overall on the season. 

Marius Balandis, Iowa Western CC
Balandis got the win in relief this past week, tossing 3 innings giving up 0 runs off 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4 vs. Indian Hills. Iowa Western took 3 of 4 from Indian Hills to improve to 29-5 overall. Balandis is 4-0 with a save and an ERA of 2.60 on the year. 

Michael Oh, NIACC
Oh got a no-decision for his efforts vs. Southeastern CC. Oh went 7 innings giving up only 1 run off 9 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3. Oh won 3 of 4 vs. Southeastern CC and improved to 17-18 overall. Oh is 3-2 with 2.12 ERA on the year with 51 strikeouts in 51 innings of work. 

Brett Taucher
, Heartland CC
Taucher made one relief appearance vs. South Sub this past week giving up 0 runs off 0 hits while striking out 2. Heartland is 21-9 overall on the year. 

Mike Bieterman, Heartland CC
Bieterman went 2 for 6 this past weekend with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's to help them sweep Lincoln Land CC and improve to 21-9. Bieterman is hitting .300 on the year. 



Angel Sandoval, Saint Francis

Sandoval got St. Francis their only win this past week, tossing 7 innings giving up 1 run off 5 hits while striking out 9. Saint Francis is 22-17 overall. 

Malcolm Grady, Campbellsville
Grady made one relief appearance this past weekend tossing 2 innings giving up 0 runs off 1 hit and 2 walks. Campbellsville swept Cumberland and split with Rio Grande to move to 23-14 overall. Grady has a 1.59 ERA on the year with 29 strikeouts in 28.1 innings of work.
